So uhm... Cursed Legacy... Rin as Survivor? :D

True, but it could make sense that it could happen.

The thing is that there is nothing to suggest that it is a possibility. It is pure speculation with nothing to really support it.

I mean, if I remember correctly a while back on a dev stream they did say something along the lines of "you might see in the future who once was a killer and who once was a survivor to not be in the same position anymore." or something like that. I'm probably off base though.

There can already be 4 of the exact same survivor in a game, it wouldn't be much different seeing a killer and a survivor be the same person tbh.

Again, that's for gameplay reasons. Not allowing multiple of the same character in a trial could potentially mean that Survivors can be locked out of using their one character that they have all the stuff unlocked for. Not exactly a sensible game design choice.
Meanwhile, there is no gameplay reason to make Rin into a Survivor when she is already a Killer.

I will miss my girl clau if rin becomes a survivor.

Why do you guys desire uninspired, lazy content?

More of logic. I mean. Personalities can be supressed and you can ignore parts of your behavior, but regular Rin has to be in existance somewhere. To turn a priestess into a murderer seems like an entirely different shift of personality for someone, to turn a group of high school kids into murderers (granted 1 of the 4 already was and commited the first act) is again, quite a shift in personality. There has to be some part of the regular person pre-entity inside of them

Lore reasons or not, I'd love to see Rin as a survivor just because. I think it'd be neat to have a survivor and killer version of the same person.

Don’t ever become a time traveler

This would be rich story telling right here if it happened. Rin comes home to find her mother brutally murdered by her father's hand and then is attacked and thrown a window breaking her body, destroying her life. The Entity comes along feeling her rage and offers her vengeance with the price of service, she accepts and is thrown into the Fog dishing out her fury on everyone until she can finally face her father for what he did. One night as she slips through the Fog she spies a young girl ripe for plucking, innocent, and ready to be shown the depth of her malice until she recognizes that that young girl is herself, untouched by the horrors of her father, naive, and alive.
I'm sure she would be stunned at first upon seeing herself but soon afterwards she would feel pity, and then jealousy, and finally hate. She could be jealous that this girl hasn't had her life destroyed and is still alive and she would be furious she still loves the man who had broken her body and killed her mother. That's juicy and I would love to see that happen.

You're assuming that the Rin that became fueled by revenge is not the regular Rin simply motivated by rage and revenge.

Something I haven't seen mentioned yet, in support for survivor Rin.
IF her father becomes a killer, it could trigger conflicting emotions within Rin. Rage and a desire for revenge. But also fear.
What if the Entity separates Rin from the Spirit? Gives her human side renewed hope to feed on, while allowing her rage to stay manifested as its own being, still out for eternal revenge.

Rage and revenge=typical highschool girl

Yea good meme.
Spirit is actually a figure from Japanese Folklore where she is called "yūrei".
Plenty to read up on this available.

Just because it's for gameplay reasons doesn't make it make any more sense. Logically, it isn't that big of a step to assume we can have the killer and a survivor be the same person considering there can be 4 of the same person per lobby anyways?

It may not make sense from a flavor perspective, but this is where the golden rule of game design comes in: Gameplay trumps flavor. Despite the fact that logically speaking having four Megs existing simultaneously would not make sense, the need to not lock people out of a character that has most of their perks and whatnot (and even the desire to not lock people out of playing whatever character they like when it has no strong impact on the game) trumps the logical failure of having multiple of the same person at the same time.
Meanwhile, there is no game design reason that having Rin as a Survivor and Killer is necessary, beneficial, etc. etc. So there is nothing to really gain from creating such a paradox.
(Plus, Yui is way better than Rin :P )
