Is this a script?
I have recently encountered an afk trapper with more to it than meets the eye.
He had some sort of script that let him swing his machete whenever a survivor was close by. To be more specific, when u stood behind him, he would perform a perfect turn to swing at you and would turn back in the exact same perfect way. When i stood in front of him, he just swinged forward. And also if i wasn t close to him he wouldn t swing at all. It was really weird. Caught it on stream too.
Also why do all afk killers have hexes?

Could be a cheat software, for example in shooter games the cheats allow you to set certain angle where it automatically shoots an enemy at certain distance allowing you to set it to 360 degrees.
Or someone deranking trying to shoo survivors away for faster games, you can hear survivors breathing and footsteps so you know if someone is directly behind you.
Either way you should report such players since automated bloodpoint farming (AFK killers) are against the rules.

I would actually advise against jumping to reporting just for a killer being afk. They aren't really going to gain anything from being afk as spending time in the game alone doesn't do anything for the killer if they just stand still. Just run through the game and get what points you can. It's gonna score low due to little to no interaction so it is sort of a wash. Not really worth the report. Now if they had a movement based script that you could prove without any doubt, report that. Though most cheat engine tech shouldn't work anymore now that dedicated servers are running.

Remember those bots that just kept swinging air (auto clicker) and just farmed bloopoints because survivors would run there, get hit, heal and repeat. Those people got permanent bans for it.
Now that it's very rare, if not obsolete. But who knows, it might do a comeback.
As for cheats, dedicated server does not block cheating at all. You still send and receive data from the game server which can manipulated.
Anyway, I didn't find AFKing to be against the rules here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/game-rules
But the in-game report screen still lists AFKing under unsportsmanlike option. I guess a moderator/dev is needed to clarify on that.
AFKing still kills the fun of the game while sometimes the wait times to find a game are long and can happen more than once in a row if someone is trying to derank in hopes of easier of games for example.

Whether going AFK is a reportable offence or not, using a bot ("botting") definitely is. As far as I'm aware, killers don't behave like that by default, so it was almost certainly a bot.
I would report him in-game for Unsportsmanlike Conduct (in-game reports are mandatory) and optionally you can submit a support ticket if you have additional evidence, such as a recording, of the incident.

I mean i feel bad for reporting him, i got bloodpoints of his back and even an adept achievement that i was trying to do for quiet a while. I was just curious how his scripts or mechanics work, because i have never seen such behaviour before.
Thanks for answering have a nice day!

The thing is: his turns seemed really unnatural. Sure, maybe we just looked too much into it and missed some aspects of it, but his mechanics seemed more advanced than anything i have seen up to that point. Lately i have bumped into so many afk killers in low ranks, who only work in 2 ways : either m1 script, or just normal afk. This is really different.
Thanks for answering, have a nice day!

That's actually a very commonly used script back in the day to gain points... they would have it set to just swing all the time, or swing when Survivors are nearby to gain chase points...
Something like that, it's a script they're using though (Unless they were moving like normally while doing it, than no that's just someone pressing the M1 button and not participating in the match.)
You can report for that if the 2nd case is what he was doing, but it sounds to me that he was using a script to do this, i'm surprised people even use that script anymore tbh.

Unless they've completely botched the servers on a basic level. They should be able to identify altered data packets. Failing an automatic check for alteration or foreign data there is still stored match data which unless they made the strange decision to not do cursory logging of match data would not stand up to human review if a report were filed.
Also with server implementation they should be able to run some sort of encryption in addition to EAC. We'll most likely never know unless something large scale upsets the game.

I'm surprised this script still exists tbh, that's why I'm skeptical.

Yeah, I was under the impression that the devs had patched it out. Perhaps someone wrote a new one.

These things happen in droves; a month or so ago I regularly came across accounts that were a killer just spamming M1 while standing still; the tell was usually the rythm of them pressing ready and unready, as that was the pace at which they would also spam M1 in-game. Always a trapper, too.

Yes, with the currently obscene survivor waiting times, it's definitely a good idea not to report such an account that is clearly using a script to keep searching for games and earn points/derank for them, making the game incredibly unfun/boring/pointless for 4 people at a time.
