Y'all are trippin' over Balanced Landing?
The perk still does the same thing, you just can't abuse it during chases anymore.

Not really. It's a dead perk without the reduced stagger. There is really no reason to use bl over other exhaustion perks now.
6 -
Uhh completely changing the usefulness of the perk. Not saying some of the loops created by it weren't unfair. But gutting a popular perk generally upsets people.
3 -
It still turns some of the most dangerous spots inti the safest, you just have to NOT be exhausted
3 -
The usefulness went in because of the fact that more loops were possible, rather than a getaway tactic like most other exhaustion perks were.
6 -
It's not that big of a deal. Imagine if Lithe increased vaulting speed, or something like that. The reduced stagger is still there for the first time. The nerf is just going to help survivors be less cocky, and not to loop on Haddonfield for an eternity.
13 -
Survivors tend to over exaggerate when they have something changed for them. Some people used this perk in every build. Now they have to use another perk of the huge perk pool. Big oof
12 -
"It's a dead perk"
"Gutting a popular perk"
Y'all are being a little dramatic. Balanced will still be very strong and give tons of distance. Now you actually have to play the game instead of camping pseudo God loops.
10 -
Yup, Haddonfield will be a balanced Map after the Nerf.
1 -
I think it's still decent but like I said, I don't think anyone will choose bl over other exhaustion perks anymore (and with good reason tbh). It was a dead perk before they buffed it last year, it's going to be like that once again.
1 -
I know I love BL, and this change won't really change that either, and I've been switching between BL and Lithe ever since I got the two perks.
2 -
It's a good perk. I consiser using it in stealth builds.
1 -
Let's hope.
Might still be a little survivor sided, but hopefully LESS survivor sided and kind of Preschool 1.5
1 -
what a surprise the only exhaustion perk with a passive for no reason finally gets in line with the rest of the exhaustion perks and only works when not exhausted what a new concept...
7 -
I know why it was useful. I don't even disagree with nerfing it. I just think it went too far.
How else would you describe a change that removes the primary use of a perk? As I said above. I don't disagree with nerfing it. It just seemed too heavy handed. Hell if they'd have made the silent landing part active even while exhausted I'd have said it was a lateral move. One that removed the problem with balanced while adding utility to it.
2 -
If they keep adding maps with verticality people will still use it over lithe. Making it function like other exhaustion perks just adds to what developers can do map design wise.
Although lithe should make the first vault faster, and sprintburst should be faster at start and fade to normal running after 3 seconds.
1 -
For people who didn't abuse it, it's actually a buff. The falling sounds reduction can be super useful for stealth and jukes.
4 -
Problem is the primary use was a side effect unintended by the devs.
1 -
It still won’t more than likely, those fence loops are still pretty deadly.
3 -
Only if I'm exhausted.
0 -
Oh no, one of the 5 perks sweaty survivors use is now useless! Back to Dead Hard I guess...
2 -
Yeah, I am sarcastic on this one. Haddonfield is no map you want to get as Killer, even after the BL Nerf.
But apparently the Devs are thinking all is fixed with the Nerf.
3 -
the have to make stagger 100% less becose 75% make no sense
0 -
Balanced Landing is still going to be a decent perk. Sure it's situational, but in my eyes, it actually got a buff to stealth and a more consistent change to be like other exhaustion perks. Lithe, Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, and Head On all don't allow benefits while you're exhausted, so BL stood out like that, which was odd. Now infinites with BL aren't going to be possible, so I'm happy with the changes!
1 -
We saw the same thing with instaheals. Survivors can't accept when something is brought down to balanced from previously OP. Mettle of Man, instas, Old DS, Adrenaline (hopefully...)
2 -
Yeah, I loved Balanced Landing but it 100% needed that nerf, and even then, it's still a great perk that still opens-up the map while in a chase.
1 -
The thing is Balanced Landing is highly map and tile dependent. The fact it only works once pretty much guts it's entire purpose. It's not worthless on a good chunk of maps where it was semi-decent. It's only going to be useful on a handful of maps with reliable drop points.
I would rather they just took away the exhaustion/speed boost entirely and just left the stagger alone.
Or, you know, fix the problem loops. Haddonfield houses are still entirely loopable without Balanced Landing. Only instead of 4 times around you get 3.
1 -
I honestly just hope Adrenaline doesn't activate when hooked and no speed boost when exhausted.
1 -
I'd even be okay with keeping the speed boost. But the fact that you get a boost, a health state, AND it ignores every effect except broken? That's messed up. Make it so it doesn't activate off hooks and go from there; I think that would be enough.
0 -
Ok but now I want a perk in which when you fall there is less stagger. I used balance for that reason. The speed you got is good for some loops but the best thing was the reduced stagger. I would take a new perk where it all it does is have less stagger when falling.
0 -
Well yeah, but I WANT to abuse it. Obviously. It was really fun in most central buildings, where you could just drop 3-4 times before you'd get a hit off. You could draw it out even longer if there was a god window open as well, and you could hang out all game if there was a pallet or two.
Oh, but yeah, clearly didn't need a nerf. I mean the killer should honestly just see that I have BL and walk away lol :)

"There is really no reason to use bl over other exhaustion perks now."
THAT'S THE POINT!!! Exhaustion perks shouldn't give benefits when you're exhausted! Complaining about BL getting nerfed is like saying Dead Hard is useless because you can't use it when you're exhausted.
0 -
It was broken before, anyone that says otherwise didn't ever chase a toxic Nea up the stairs and out the window 4 times to get a hit. Play both sides or stfu
0 -
You misunderstand.
Balanced Landing is HIGHLY dependent on the map and the tile. Some maps it's really good, while others it is literally a wasted slot. Most maps it's barely even useful because of the lack of drop points and your inability to make it to said drop points from certain places on the map.
Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, and Lithe have no such limitation. You can use them all equally on every map and most tiles. Lithe is probably the most conditional after Balanced but even then there are 10 times more places to use Lithe on any given map than Balanced.
This is why we say there is no reason to use it. Because it's SO conditional that it's just worthless now. Who would run Balanced for the low chance to get to use it in a chase when you could just take any of the other 3 perks and almost be guaranteed to use it?
Except that the problem spots where Balanced was OP are still going to be problem spots. The houses on Haddonfield, Preschool, swamp structures, Game... all still problem maps for killers. It will only be slightly better now that Balanced is nerfed. It would make 1000 time more sense to fix the problem tiles than it would to nerf a good but highly situational perk. It's like nerfing Breakdown or Sabo because hooks on X maps are spread too far apart. Maybe the problem is the maps, not the perks.

There is plenty of reason. Maps like Haddonfield and Macmillons will still have great use for BL, and the noise reduction could easily fool killers who aren't prepared for it.

"I don't disagree with nerfing it. I just think it went too far"
*cries in Legion*
1 -
The ones that complain about it were the one abusing it, plain and simple.
0 -
Honestly Legion just needed a rework. Feral Frenzy is just annoying.
0 -
Deep wound is the worst status in the game by a longshot. It isn't even slightly threatening, just tedious to deal with. Legion was fine. Deep Wound has never been fine.
0 -
I always disliked how ridiculously easy it was for Legion to injure everyone. I like the concept of Feral Frenzy. But it's just no fun to face. Legion really just needs a full rework at this point. Hopefully keeping the cool things like pallet vaulting. While making Legion a solid killer that is fun to face.
1 -
It needed to go. Heck, all it is is an actual exhaustion perk now. It gives you nothing if you are exhausted, just like the rest of them,
0 -
*also cries in Legion main*
1 -
Ok so you used it to abuse Haddonfield got it.
1 -
Cause it's quicker to nerf one then rework every map. They might even change it back after they rework the maps.
1 -
If the speed boost only activated when you fall from height WHILE RUNNING. It will be perfect. It will not let Survivor spam the no stagger during chase, but able to use it why not in chase.
0 -
That's like saying "Nurse's power was too strong, they should just start making every map multi-floor indoor maps so that she isn't so strong."
1 -
I almost read the title too literally and thought you meant they trip over when they balance land. 😂
0 -
And to that I say... git gud.
0 -
Not really. I haven't even used balanced landing for months since I find dead hard a lot more useful. Nice try.
The noise reduction also only works when you aren't exhausted as far as I know. They could have made the nerf a lot more acceptable if they made that the passive effect along with adding some hills to shelter woods or something.
1 -
It does do the same thing but it's so situational (some maps is blows on) that it will prolly get reduced in popularity with other exhaustion perks that are more rewarding.
I believe that the only reason BL had an extra stat was that it's more situational than the other exhaustion perks. Some maps only have 2 spots to use it and if your not there when you get in chase your out of luck.
I understand why it has to be nerfed. The devs dont want to fix the maps it's broken on or they are just doing the quickest fix. But it is sad because I loved not getting my ankles broken. I didn't even care about the speed boost.
I think most people will just switch to dead hard.. or head-on for the memes.

bl is a bad perk.
