Tome Challenge Idea
Due to the recent large amount of complaints and there being some people not wanting the Tome Challenges to be changed, I had an idea. As I was commenting on all the complaint threads about it, it came to me...
Obviously it can't be incorporated into the current Tome, it's a bit late for that BUT what if for future Tomes there would be two separate challenge pages for each Tome level. Confused? Let me explain:
To please both those who like the current challenges and those who hate the current challenges, make Expert Mode and Casual Mode. You can only choose one, if you choose Casual Mode you cannot switch to Expert Mode and vice versa.
Casual Mode:
- There will be less BP awarded for each completed challenge.
- Less Challenges each Tome Level.
- Less Work (for example: Tome level I - Casual has one where you unhook 5 survivors safely, Expert has one where you have unhook 15 survivors safely).
Expert Mode:
- There will be more BP awarded for each completed challenge.
- More Challenges
- More Work
- Some type of extra reward aside from BP
- An achievement
-Edited out parts on both modes involving Notes-

Tbh I don't really like this because people who play casual will still be missing lore and maybe feel disadvantaged if they want to complete the lore, but also don't dare to try expert mode due to possible lack of time.
I'd be all in for higher bp rewards, but anything else could still cause the same problem and not solve anything imo.
And there would still be a lot of people who chose expert mode, and with challenges like unhooking a lot of survivors or hook multiple survivors in the basement at same time, the problem about toxic gameplay would also still be there.
I see where you are coming from, but I don't think it is possible to make everyone happy anyways.

Sadly, it's never possible to make everyone happy but this is a start.
The notes part doesn't have to be there, both sides could still get the same notes, same lore. I just put that part there because I felt Casual should have specific downsides but I get the notes also don't mean much it's the more casual part of the rift (just a cool side thing to obtain), I just couldn't think of many other things to make a difference between the modes.
But Expert Mode would be meant to be super challenging, people upon choosing expert should know what they are getting themselves into at that point it'd be their fault for choosing a path that could lead to toxicity and whatnot. However, before choosing what mode you do, you'd be allowed to see the challenges in each mode to better see whether you want to or not. There are people who don't want the challenges changed as they are in Tome Level 3 right now, so basically they don't seem to care for toxic or unhealthy gameplay if they really want the challenges to be like this.

The problem is even if I want to have normal games and choose the casual mode, I'd still have to play with people who choose hardcire mode. So I'd still have to deal with unhealthy gameplay, even thought I didn't sign up for it.
To avoid that completely, the player base would need to be split up, which would probably result in long matchmaking times.
As additional reward I could imagine getting more rift fragments maybe? The rift is really grindy, so maybe leave the rewards for casual like they are now and increase for hardcore?
It's a difficult topic in general.

I feel like you're going in the right direction. But I think everyone should start out in "Casual" mode and once they complete it, they can prestige the Tome level to "Expert" or "Difficult" mode. And the prestige is optional, but you will get the more stuff. It would be so you can get all the extra things. It would make it to where you can complete challenges on your own time, and when you're done with the "Casual" you can just prestige and do the "Expert" challenges while you wait for the next tome level.

I like the Idea to have a casual mode. But the lore and items should be the same for all.
Because i'm too bad.Achievements, Bloodpoints and maybe Shards 😊 would be nice rewards for the expert mode. The expertmode should still be an option if you complete the casual, like mentioned above.

The prestige part is a nice idea, would help people get the achievement if they are achievement hunters and what not but thing is would those who chose Expert be allowed to go back and do Casual? Wouldn't make sense to...un-prestige. Wouldn't be fair for those who actually wanted a challenge in the first place to get an achievement and more rewards only to let the people who chose Casual and prestige later get those same rewards on top of getting all the BP and Rift Fragments from Casual Mode.
I wanted Expert to get something more as a prize for saying "Hey, you actually wanted a real challenge in your life. You're actually pretty skilled to be able to do this and wanna stick with it til the end."

No I meant that everyone would start casual and after completing those challenges, they can prestige to expert.
