Please Re-Enable The Survivor Hook Trick | 3.4.2 Feedback
Since 3.4.2 a neat trick "skilled" survivors used to do, was patched out.
If a survivor was on hook and the killer was camping, other survivors could fake the unhook action and walk through the guy on hook to hide their own hitbox behind the hooked survivors. Then the killer would hit the person on hook, have their melee cooldown animation and made it possible for the rescuing survivor to have enough time to unhook.
Here a video to showcase: https://youtu.be/NNIqdIpm7o8
This was such an awesome trick and maybe even a skill-aspect in this game. Experienced Killers can easily counter this. Also it was in the game long enough for killers to adept to this tech. Maybe it can be unlucky for the killer when the autoaim targets the hooked survivor and not the rescuing survivor, but this could even be "balance" if the killer is literally facecamping to grab rescuers, it gave survivors a bit more hope to go for the unhook and risk their lives. In its current state facecamping wins and the game gets less and less skillbased.

I don't know why they keep removing this.

So the game is chock full of safe pallet loops, a central building in every map that's practically an infinite, DS, BT, Iron Will, Adrenaline, Dead hard, sprint burst, and balanced landing. Ruin usually spawns next to a gen, thus allowing the survivors to gen rush in about 8 minutes. Even with ALL of that, you still want to be able to walk right up to the scary monster and take his/her kill? How about no...

It's not about the person getting the unhook, it's about the person stuck on the hook with a camping killer being unable to play the game. Most people aren't masochists and don't want to play a videogame where they sit on a hook until they die in two minutes.

This was incredibly annoying for non camping killers who punish poor hook d saves. And besides, if a killer is camping, you shouldn't even be trying to go for unhooks. Do gens and everybody else escapes, quite easily. Ill take the Freddy nerfs in exhange for this.

I loved this tech..
I'm sad they removed it ):

Do you honestly think it's fun for the killer to be run around the map for 5 minutes, while the generators go flying by, only to down the survivor you've been chasing, and lose that survivor to DS or a flashlight save? Killers wouldn't have to tunnel and camp if the game wasn't so survivor friendly.
Here's my advice, go grab a basic killer like Demogorgon or Trapper, then put yourself on a disgusting map like Macmillan. Let a single survivor run you through endless loops and pallet stuns, teabagging you every time you barely miss a swing and flashlight blinding you every time you break a pallet. Once you finally hook said survivor, you look up to realize there's one gen left, whoops, it just popped. Now, do you leave this toxic little troll to go look for others, knowing full well that the survivor is going to be rescued by someone with borrowed time and all four are going to escape, or do you face camp them, hoping to down at least one more person and get a 2 man, a safety pip, and some decent bloodpoints?

Losing a survivor to DS means they were already hooked, and flashlight saves are nearly impossible as evidenced by all the people complaining that they are stuck on the quest in the archives. Those things make the game more survivor friendly, and they game has to be survivor friendly or there are going to be no matches

In case you haven't noticed, it takes three hooks to kill a survivor. So, 5 minutes to run them down the first hook. Another 5 for the DS, Another 3 to catch them again.
Don't know who these potatoes are, but one guy got three flashlight saves in one match. He stalked me the whole game, just waiting for a save, until I tunneled his butt into oblivion.
The game is already stupidly survivor friendly. If you get a survivor that knows the map, you cannot catch them, you're relying on one of his teammates to screw up. That's why you get campers and tunnelers, you force them to play your game, rather than you playing theirs.

This doesn't need to be changed. You shouldn't be able to pass through a survivor to get an unsafe hook of the killer can't also hit through the survivor.
What they SHOULD fix is the problem where if the killer hits the rescuer during a certain part the unhooking animation, the rescuer doesn't take damage.

People keep saying that this "trick" was used against campers. What about the fact that it prevents non camping killers from punishing bad hook saves? Stop acting like every scummy survivor tech is only used against killers that "deserve" it. Just like killers, survivors get upset when their unintended advantage is taken away. Deal with it.

How about no? Stop abusing things

Wait, again? This has to be a bug. I don't see why they would fix a bug to only remove the fix right after the patch.
It's a good mind game that skilled survivors used to do some impressive last minute saves.

Yeah and facecamping to block the unhook prompt was a good mindgame that skilled killers used to do some impressive last minute sacrifices.

Lmao why are people so against this. It's easily counterable by not IMMEDIATELY swinging, you just have to be aware of it.

I can't say that facecamping is a fair comparison for the survivor hook trick.
Facecamping back in the day made it practically impossible for the person to be saved and was a guaranteed death. Unless the saviors magically lost collision with the killer to unhook.
The hook trick still has counter play from the killer's side. They could look at the survivor's moving patterns and be able to hit or even grab them.
Many survivors will still go for the save and trade places with the hooked survivor.

and you know damn well this isnt what is going to happen i just had a game where the person followed me to the hook just to get behind the hooked survivor to do exactly that waste a m1 cooldown and watch the survivor run off and they didnt even give me time to decide whether i wanted to camp or not there is no sill in this its no bwtter than exploiting a fat shaming spot to get away from the killer.
