Windows and Palettes are Death scentences.
Fast vault a window? you'll still get hit.
a metre away from the window? if the killer looks at you, you'll still get hit.
Dropped the palette and got the stun? you'll still get hit.
I find it so annoying that the only feasable tools survivors ahve to create distance and play mindgames, more often than not end up getting me killed eventhough im pulling them off correctly. i've noticed it more recently. i always knew in the back of my mind playing survivor that it's killer favoured in terms of what counts as a hit and what doesnt but its really making me mad after 250 hours.
I know i sound like an entitled survivor but the game isnt fun when you vault the window and get skullF*cked by an oni m1 or billy's chainsaw. every game feels like a nurse game.
I cant see myself playing any more survivor without friends untill this gets fixed or something is done about dedicated servers. i'll be playing killer and waiting 30 minutes for a game againt people 6 ranks higher than me.

I just had the Billy part happen to me moments ago. Not fun when you're fully through the window and still somehow get hit metres away from the window. I can get your frustration, but a big thing people don't realize is the ping bar is still available to see your latency
Dedicated servers are still a work in progress, and they are still evaluating the data and whatnot. I have been enjoying dedicated servers for the most part, except when there are major lag spikes that earn me free hooks that I didn't deserve.

If you're ping is bad you'll get hit from unrealistic angles, easy like that.

Always remember that what you see isn't what the killer sees, and due to ping, there's only so much BHVR can do to address that.
On your screen, you got hit through the window. On the Killer's screen, they just barely caught you at the end of the vault.

Aren't you explicitly not pulling them off correctly if you are getting hit? Also it tells you your ping in the lobby so you can tell if you have to give yourself an extra twentieth or tenth or fifth of a second, just like the majority of online games.

You are going to have a good ping in the lobby. If my ping is green then i should be okay. However, my ping isn't the issue here. I'm actually fairly decent at timing. But since i don't get into chases that often, I noticed more than just my ping being an issue when interacting with the killer.
It's the killer's ping and the fact that the dedicated servers are very sub par. Then you have people who either can't get games in their own country or they're being toxic by changing their location.... Or they have Internet quality that's Pre-ordered from Walmart based out of the North Pole lol
This is how Hatchets end up nailing you from 50 feet away. Then you have the devs netcode. Which i'm sure wasn't completely revamped, instead altered. Which still "favors the shooter" so to speak. Just a theory.

Skull ######### 😂. I understand the frustration though. Just try to understand in most cases its ping but windows are your best friends for surviving when ping isn't crap.

If they hit you before you do; or during yeah. It's still a hit. You just gotta time things better. That part is totally fine and something you need to deal with, nothing that needs to be changed....however.....
That being said, you are probably just getting dedicated a lot; the dedicated servers favor killer this has been stated. So if the killer hits you on their screen you WILL take a hit, even if on your screen you appear a little bit out of reach or such. Which while I kinda see where they are coming from, this networking is in feed of a lot of work currently, and it's frustrating a lot of people in various ways.

the problem isnt mostly about the latency, its about the actual hitboxes itself, when you play survivor and you get hit form the air it's somewhat (just a little tiny bit) understandable, but when you play killer and you still manage to pull some bs hit that is happening right on your screen then that is just not ok, at all

You just described latency. I hit them as killer on my screen, and survivor screen I did not.

Don't greed, and don't medium vault. You will get hit through stuff much less.

You never know what the killer can hit nowadays. Medium vault is such a trash mechanic.

Not to the extreme it is on PC.
Because of the games being connected to the Killer's internet its of course going to be slanted. However, if the game is going to go this way you will see it ahead of time. Dedicated servers are a whole other beast.

Hitting through windows is by design.
Fast vaulting / vaulting is designed to be a tool to get some distance between the killer and the survivor, however, it isn't a protection against a hit, killers can reach through the window.
Standing on the other side of a window allows a clean hit.

Now that seems like a desync / lag issue. What platform are you currently playing on? The Dedicated Servers and the Peer to Peer system we have handles this differently.
As some already mentioned in this post, lots of these issues and desync problems are dependent on Network configurations that are sometimes out of our control. We are working on reviewing interactions and are planning improvements.

This is not a fix for the other issues you mentioned but to answer your statement, have you tried something different than aiming strictly for pallets / windows in a chase?
OMG THE LEAD CM SAID NOT TO USE PALLETS AND WINDOWS. ok right, that's not exactly what I am saying but there are ways to plan a chase ahead by scouting the area first and assessing your available options, positioning yourself strategically to minimize the chances of getting in a chase while doing your objective and perfecting the timing on leaving a gen to get to your safe points. These are tools survivors have all the time... and it's free, no perks required!
As for chasing and mindgame perks... I am personally a huge fan of Diversion (PEBBLE!) and stealth perks like Quick & Quiet and Iron Will. You can do many things with these perks that will lose a killer during a chase, sometimes even without using a pallet / window. Don't forget, lockers can be your friends, but also can be deadly, use with caution. 😉

You can play dedicated servers for this, its not a purposeful choice by the devs. The balance team is not killer sided. And you just need to get better if you are getting out mind gamed on strong pallets.

The feeling when you have green in lobby, extremely fast internet and you can get hit after you've vaulted the window it's freaking baffling.... It's been happening more today than yesterday. Love that with so many Oni, that they always get the 1shot ko through the window. I give up. I don't understand how this happens. I get ping but dear Lord over a second later? When I'm away from the window and have started sprinting. I don't even tp back I fall right where I was..

Let me assure you that it won't get fixed.
Latency got worse with servers coming into play. Billy players had way more false chainsaws even before servers got introduced and now it is just bananas.

Ngl, dedicated servers made it worse. With the old p2p connection at least you got legit hits as long as you were under 60 ping. Now with dedicated servers you are getting bullshit hits on 60 ping similar to 200+ ping on p2p connection.

Much rather have dedicated servers, than angry killers abusing lag switch for easy wins.

Unfortunately it’s just something you have to learn to accept with DBD. People (myself included) thought dedicated servers would help solve this issue, but so far they haven’t really changed much.
Maybe a couple years from now we might see some more significant improvements, but for the time being enjoy getting hit by a killer from a second story window when your feet have already touched the ground.

Yes, nice game design you guys got here. Maybe your game would be better if you just brought back p2p instead of forcing people to test on your servers that hardly work for over 2 months!

My favorite is when on the doc map and go through the window upstairs and while im falling down still get hit/chainsaw

Yesterday in every single game, I would hit the killer with the pallet (before he crossed it) and he would magically appear on the other side of the pallet right next to me. The times I died because of this... :(

I was about to post a ton of completely BS hits but that video sums it up nicely.
As a killer these days, I ALWAYS swing at pallets and windows now because sometimes dedicated servers will just give me a free easy down. It's bad when it looks like it doesn't hit as the survivor, but when you are the killer and it doesn't even look like a hit it's hilarious.
