Why does playing killer have to be so stressful?

Coal tower, Rancid abattoir, Auto Haven, Fractured Cowshed, and Badham preschool to name a few.

Sometimes if I start getting frustrated as killer and am totally outplayed, I’ll get behind the best runner and just let them run me around the map. I’ve learned so much about how to shut down loops and where people tend to run and hide in certain maps by doing this. I end up leaving these matches feeling like I gained something instead of being frustrated that I lost.

If you are stressing on killer games, you need to reframe how easily stressed out you are. Sure maybe 1 out of 15 will be stressing but its pretty much easy money every match.

The survivor side will never be as stressful as killer for a few reasons. Killers are on a clock counting down from the moment the game begins. They have to juggle several variables at once and make snap decisions on how to react to any given scenario. Even without swf killers have to deal with unknown variables. Does the survivor have an insta or regular medkit, a green or purple key, unbreakable or d strike, borrowed time or dead hard? As a survivor many if not all killer perks become know to you after a few minutes in game. The only things you have to worry about end game are Noed and Rancor, possibly blood warden. Streamers find it easier to play survivor and use their downtime (not being chased)for them to read the chat. Where as killers must always be on the move and tracking. Lastly, it feels worse losing a survivor to the exit gate than it does dying on hook. I'm not sure why that is. Perhaps it is bearing all the weight of failure on your own while survivors die or survive as a team( spreading the burden), sometimes a backstabbing, cowardly team, but one all the same.

Coal tower isn't an infinite, my dude. Once the pallet's gone, you're pretty #########. Autohaven, even with the good pallet/window placement, is not an infinite. Killer can easily gain distance if survivor tries to go around back. That confirms it, you're just bad.

As the survivor, not killer.

Toxic survivors.

The game stresses me out when it gives me maps like Rotten Cornfields or any of the Yamaoka maps that have -1000% brightness even with screen settings maxed out.
Try playing without ruin equipped - it's a fun time when survivors pop gens left and right.
That's what stresses me out, at least.

"Why does playing killer have to be so stressful?"
Here's the secret... it doesn't. Play to have fun. Dont play for kills or pips. If I "lose" but still enjoy the game, I havent lost anything, and no amout of post match trash talk will change my mind.

Easy fix: Nvidia freestyle. Sharpness, exposure, contrast, color enhancement.
And it's allowed.
I believe AMD has something similar.
REST IN PIECES, BLENDETTES.

Did I say infinite? No, I said god loop. Learn to read. I get the feeling you're one of those survivor mains that thinks being able to run a killer for 4 gens with zero effort besides knowing the map is normal and fair.
Just played a match on The Game, it was very pallet happy and I had a guy that knew where every single loop was. Had TWO pallets on the loop near the basement, absolutely no mindgame or counter play available. Had a crapton more very safe pallets. On top of that, the hooks spawned a long way apart. Needless to say, it was not a fun game. Still got a 2K, but I had to camp to do it.

Because it's safer to allow one person to quit the game as opposed to a sweaty 4 man SWF.

I think the devs have alienated a lot of killers. If the queue times and matching is any indication, there is a major shortage of killers.

Luckily i took the plunge and deleted the game last week. The game is just too one sided for me along with the toxicity. I still drop by though in the hope that something is changed. Nothing will change...

Play what you want. By that logic if you're using keys and purple toolboxes with BNP, you're not suited to play this game. What kind of logic is that? Past green ranks you can never have a "nice game" without survivors being try hards and forcing your hand.

I rarely eat pallets, but the strategy of letting them throw it down is a joke on a map that has 20+ pallets. There is no amount of map awareness that's going to help when you get double pallets in a hallway with no windows or loop around. When you say "switch targets" you're acknowledging that god loops exist, because if they didn't, you wouldn't have to switch. You're saying that if the survivor knows the map, the killer has no chance and needs to move to a dumber member of the group.
My rank is irrelevant because I'm not playing inside my ranks, I get nothing but red and purple survivors.

Isn't it obvious?

I'm saying "switch targets" because you're clearly too incompetent to catch them, not because so called "god loops" exist. Also keep in mind windows can only be vaulted three times in a chase, they can't use it forever.
"My rank is irrelevant because I'm not playing inside my ranks, I get nothing but red and purple survivors." Ah, so you're a yellow rank far outclassed by the survivors you're matched against. i.e: you're just bad. This explains basically everything.
Watch this and try learn the map tiles and their variations, as these survivors clearly have:
You could also always just play trapper/hag/freddy and lock down these supposed "god loops"

Sure thing chief. Sorry about that.
Meh, you're no different than bully survivors, just trying to get a rise out of me. No one can catch them when there is zero other option, like three hallways, no windows, and two pallets. I lurk around rank 10 currently and have a decent win rate over purple and red ranks. Problem comes in with players with 3K hours to my 95. I main hag actually, I do VERY well with her, because again you can sneak attack the strong loops.

"Zero options" lmao.
Oh you DO play hag... So how the hell are you getting bamboozled by these so called "god loops"? This has to be a troll, honestly...

Zero options besides abandoning the chase, but we've already established that it means you're agreeing the god loops are a thing. Maybe I'm not explaining this properly. Meat packing plant, lower level, near basement. Perfect square of hallways with no windows or ways out. Just forwards and backwards. Two pallets are in this loop, no way around them, only option is to break them. Like I said, even the survivor running it agreed it was BS.
Just because I main hag, doesn't mean that I don't play all of the other killers quite often. I pick hag when I really need a win, because I have an excellent success rate with her.

"you're agreeing the god loops are a thing"
Yeah okay you're trolling.
"only option is to break them"
THEN ######### BREAK THEM
" no windows or ways out"
No windows? Isn't that... BAD for the survivor trying to loop? If it's literally just pallets then they'll be forced to drop one at some point. Oh my god, this is so stupid. I'm done, I'm ######### done.

Since we're going in circles worse than a survivor here, allow me to direct you back to my original comment...
"You run the loop until you catch up, then a pallet goes down and they run to the next loop, then the next one, then the next one, then the god loop"

Because killers are on a huge time crunch. You have to manage 4 people, 7 generators, where all the hooks are, remember any items survivors may have, remember 16 different perks, check your totems, run loops and destroy pallets, make split second decisions that might cost you the game, and so on. Compare this to survivor where you only have to do generators, know the general location of pallets, windows, and loops, open a door, and escape.
As for the simplest answer, it's a 4 VS 1. It's supposed to be 4 weaker characters VS 1 strong character, but it is usually 1 strong character VS 4 strong characters. With survivors, if you make a mistake you have 3 other teammates to pick up the slack, but if you make a mistake as killer, you can't pick up the slack in any way. Bring in large maps with strong buildings like Crotus Prenn and it's game over. The game asks for so much from killers, the single player, and so little for survivors, the numerous role.

It’s bad game design.
A survivor can mess up repeatedly and still recover and survive.
A killer cannot make many mistakes, if any at all on some maps, and still win the game.
Plus if you survive as a survivor, no matter how you play, the killer is highly likely to not even bother messaging you. If you’re the killer and you break one of the survivor rules then you’re getting pooped on in chat, adding to the stress.
Its why I don’t play as much killer anymore and when I do I don’t care.
4 -
Here's why. Instead of being one power role versus numerous weaker roles that must unite against you (like Evolve or F13), it is one power role versus four other power roles because some survivor mains think they should be able to 1 vs 1 the killer in every situation. That's why killer is stressful. Its something that can't be fixed because it is baked into the game at this point, and we all know how well this community reacts to change.
There are competitor games coming (Predator and Resistance) so we will see. Because if they can pull off a fun feeling asyemmtrical game, maybe getting knocked off the throne will be good for this game. Since DBD has no real competition right now, and that always leads to stagnation.

Oh for #########'s sake.

Horror themed* DBD is NOT a horrot game

Killer used to feel this way for me ... when I was new to playing killer. Now believe me or not I can 3 or 4k at red ranks most of my games and it doesnt stress me. It's a matter of practise - don't give up and take losses as learning or just try to have fun
1 -
if you think its stressfull this is not the game for you, you should be enjoying yourself.

This is the right answer. OP is just bad.
