Tome 1 Level 4 is out and just as mental as we expected

BHVR never learns.

This has nothing to do with difficulty in terms of skill. It's pure luck.

You act as if these challenges are guaranteed to be done if you just keep trying. If you are very unlucky, you will NEVER finish that challenge. Simply because to many factors are not in your control. Your own skill doesn't matter. You can finish that challenge 1st try, after 100+ attempts or NEVER. No matter how good you are.

Tbh the only hard one is the dark sense one.

Wow. My only complaint about this level was that they were level 1 difficulty. In fact, one of the challenges is literally the same as one of the level 1 challenges. People just want to complain.
1 -
So you've finished them all then? You speak in past tense, so I'll assume you're finished.
That's the point, as original stated in the lead post: they're all dirt easy grinds... except the ones that are literally RNG madness, most of which hold lore.

the trapper one and the agitation one dont seem that hard to me but hey thats just me
1 -
Yeah it's next to impossible to do 4 gens in a single trial playing a solo survivor, actually a joke. Even with better together + prove thy everyone runs off and does their own thing. Even tried using the add on where all 4 survs start together
1 -
Idk about you but I did the basement one in 2 match's first a survivor dced and 2nd agitation iron grasp ftw
That said I played 5 hours and basically knocked out all of 4. while I won't ask for harder challenges. more of them would of been nice.

I find it amusing that they removed the rank bug to discourage lobby dodging but add in challenges that'll make me dodge any lobby that doesn't agree to farm. Seriously, i'm not playin Trapper all day hopin for a team of idiots to step in 6 traps.
2 -
For the bear trap challenge, just ask a couple of survivors while in the lobby to help you out.

And dodge every lobby that refuses. Gotta be efficient considering the time constraints. 3 weeks during the holiday season is actually quite a short amount of time.

I did it first try in red ranks, just learn where to trap, predict the survivors movement and it’s easy.

No Joke. I did the 6 ft Challenge in the first try. I played Nurse with deerstalker, agitation and k.o. I just slugged 2 and hooked them in the basement. The other Two always came to rescue.
It's not that hard. You can use the build on other Killers too.
Btw the Obsession Challenge can be done in One Match. Use Nemesis :) Later I will do the Surv Challenges ^^

Can't wait to play M1 adventure for 320 seconds, or in other words, complete 80% of an objective meant for 4 survivors by myself.
Exciting! 😁🤗
On a serious note, they need to speed the challenges across the board instead of making you do one thing for an extended duration.
For example, fully repair a generator while only hitting great skill checks.
This is more fun because it's not long, but it offers a challenge. :P

I am more concerned that player lvl exp stoped rewarding you rift points. So ther is no more 1 rift point based on exp therefore i don't think i will be able to get to lvl 70 at all even if i finish lvl 4...

Sad that these challenges were not active till now. During tome 3 I somehow did both those basement challenges. Let's see if lightning strike twice. Dark senses is going to be there hardest for me personally. Bear trap one will be easy.

On attempt 48 of Six Feet Under. Various builds, various killers, various DCs, last-man hatch escapes, wiggles free (because they run to and stay entire opposite side once they see what you're doing) and extreme aggravation. Good thing these are easy-peasy, right? We having fun yet?

That would be a great challenge (the skill-check one...get it? :P ).
My real concern is that if this is how the challenges are designed, we're just going to see the same thing over and over in future tomes.
Maybe it just feels that way because Claudette is focused around healing...
I hope in the future we see stuff like Feng (Perform 3 vaults in a single chase), Meg (Run X meters in a chase while using Sprint Burst), David (Take 2 Protection hits in a single match), etc.
I'd like to see the same for killers, but I realize that there wasn't really much they could do with Trapper without making the challenges HAVE to be farmed/unbearable.

Agreed. I find a Tome focused on Trapper yoinking folks and Claudette slamming pallets quite odd. Seems like they've wasted possible Ghost Face or Spirit challenges with the yoinks, used up all the basement challenges without Bubba (bless his heart, the only thing he's good at)... only so much you can do in a match that you can knowingly attribute to being a particular character's "thing." Here's to hoping they don't run out of ideas and start recycling anytime soon.

Man wants to take the challenge out of challenges. They don't really have to be reasonable, then it's not a challenge. You might as well call them "tasks" if we keep babying them down to what the overwhelming community wants

I do agree the 4 sacrifices in the basement and 4 gens with Dark Sense are wayyy overkill, but the other two are completely plausible imo. 6 traps in a single game is just a bit of a grind to find a lobby that'll step into 6 traps lol, and the 5 hooks with Agitation, meh. Maybe I'm a bit biased on that one because I did it without Agitation. But I think the worst part is that in order for you to do some of these challenges you have to play differently in a sense. Like, I would never play Trapper or run Agitation otherwise, I used Dark Sense way long ago but not since, I just don't see why they have to force people to use certain things just to do tomes. Idk. At least they don't have any that need teachables from DLC characters lol

Not at all. I'd like to take the RNG out of challenges... major difference. And I don't see how making them "reasonable" eliminates the challenging aspect of them; the two need not be mutually exclusive. And if, by your own admission, taming down the RNG nature of some of these more extreme "complete in a single trial" challenges is "what the overwhelming community wants," does that not tell you something?
Not everybody in the community has dozens of games' worth of free time to devote hoping for a team of ignorant folks to play against (something becoming more and more uncommon regardless of rank, especially with the age of the game on PC) that won't DC on you in order to allow the perfect storm necessary for some of these.
Some folks luck out and get it on the first, second, or sixth try. Some are on their 40th+ attempt on a single challenge. Challenges should be based on the skill of the role, never RNG, and basement challenges in particular are solely based on the RNG map you get; the placement of the basement in said map; and whether or not the survivors see what you're doing and stay on the opposite side of the map the entire match, SWF-communicate your obvious intentions, or don't DC outright to spite you (instantly rendering challenges like Six Feet Under impossible that round, with no control or proof of skill on your part).
I don't see anything "babying" about getting rid of nonsensical BS.

I finally completed tome IV, and I have to do 11 more levels. Time limit (vacation trip) is tomorrow, I probably won't sleep today.
legit most of these, done it by pure luck or bc the killer let me escape.
the 4 pallet stun one was the hardest one on red ranks
killers RESPECT PALLETS because people are genrushing, so wasting time is not an option.
You don't know how many times I got 3 pallets left, and needed 1 more but everyone used it.

I was playing another game at first, but i finally got to it.
Got through it legitimately in a day.
