Are there not a bit too many pallets on the stranger things map?

Believe it or not, since I am back to dbd I had not 1 time the stranger things map, until now.

Today I tried to make a archive task with the Trapper and I landet there.

I started to hunt a Blendete, then she dropped a pallet without me even being near to it and so I thought "let us tunnel this Blendete and take all pallets already in the early game out"...

But oh boy... I underestimated how many Pallets were on that map. It was crazy^^.

All the guys who cry about pallets... Guys go and play the stranger things map. You will go there insane.

Or did you guys think I exaggerate?

I haven't played to much on it myself but i didn't notice that they're were a lot more then usual

I did notice that quiet a lot of them are unsafe

That or the survivors i went against didn't know how to run them

The reason there's a ton of pallets in Hawkins is because the majority of those pallets are incredibly unsafe. Try to loop the killer around that will guarantee you to get hit and get downed.

While yes it is unsafe, this map is a more dense pallet city than The Game is.

there are alot of pallets however the loops near the pallets are very short so you can actually bait them to vault over them again getting easy hits, or even hit them as theyre dropping it. i think people call them unsafe loops or something because you cant just keep running around and around as many times as you can with the longer walls with a pallet, tough map for trapper though, amazing for hag

It’s because of how unsafe a lot of them are. You actually want to leave some of them up just because of how unsafe they are.

Hmm. This map + Windows Of Opportunity could prove useful in completing the pallet hit trophy.

Well, I was just surprised. Always you read that pallets getting reduced in number and then that. That had make my "tactic" to take the pallets early out impossible.

Still, it was not a bad game. 3 kills.

No, nearly all of those pallets are completely unsafe.

It's because these pallets aren't meant to be looped. They are just meant to be dropped to be an obstacle for the killer. Nearly every single pallet there is unsafe and guarantees a hit if you stay near them.

I wouldn't worry if there is. Most of them are unsafe. I do a lot of scratched mirror Michael on that map. Even with his slower speed I have no issue catching survivors around the pallets.

yes they purposely increased the amount of pallets, but the majority of them are bad palletes so after you use them you cant loop it without the killer getting a hit from it.

Like others are saying, the majority of them are unsafe.

Meaning once they are dropped (or even before) you should stay at the pallet and try to get a hit without breaking it because the loop it creates is so small.

    I know it already.

    Just imagine my situation:

-I have not played dbd for months and just follow the patch notes.

-Those patch notes have talk from map reworks and so on (in parts).

-And then I had saw this map, my first time.

I have not rant about it, but as you maybe can imagine, I was surprised.

Who cares? It has the lowest survival rate, you shouldn't be struggling to much. This map has basically a build in ruin, since finding gens seems to be very hard for survivors. Despite the fact that ruin insanely difficult to find without any perks or items to track totems.

If survivors know what they're doing this map is survivor sided.

No pallet there is really safe so you need to change your playstyle on that map.

I had, during the match. I just was surprised at first.

If you see something for your first time, you often behave differently to what you make later on.

Honestly, if a survivor would drop all the pallets on thompsons house instantly i would follow him all the time.

On hawkins i just mindgame the first pallet and got a down most times. It's a good map for nearly every killer except Billy and Huntress.

bahdam was done right with the way pallets were done Hawkins every pallet is unsafe except like 2 at the most

As long as you don't get stunned by the pallet, those are very similar to the ones in Badham where you can then bait them to one side or the other and smack them. One of the few times you should try to bait them to drop it and then respect the hell out of that unsafe pallet.

There's usually 3-4 safe ones total in the long rooms. The 'warehouse' room and the catwalk ones specifically

Edit: I mean ones where you aren't going to get hit a second after you drop it of course. Not the "so safe the killer must break it before they'll ever get a single hit"

They’re all super unsafe except maybe a room.

  • Member Posts: 3,349

Yeah it's a pretty different distribution when it comes to raw numbers and how safe they are. A lot of the pallets are very weak unless the survivor gets a stun on it.

Leaving them up is a bad thing, going around them takes just long enough that they gain time vaulting and running to the next one, they don't even try to mind game there they just run to the next one and run you around forever. I just played a game on there where the entire game I had 3 of them running me around them endlessly without ever trying to mind game them. the room where that 1 gen was had 3 pallets, just outside that room there was 4 pallets (one at each corner) then there were 3 rooms by there with 2-3 pallets in there and 3-4 pallets on the outside of those rooms. there was no way to catch up to them, one hit chasing them off the gen was the best that was even possible. this was as pig, M1 killers are pretty boned there if the survivors just have risk free ways of running you around. Add to this that I get pallet stunned nowhere near the pallet and you have a real problem. this isn't the only map with overabundance of pallets and I keep seeing map offerings taking me to these maps. Playing Spirit I could probably do fine there or nurse or anyone with instant downs. Clown would probably be fine too but pig I had 0 chance without them trying to mind game and failing it. there wasn't even an attempt. I used to average 3k games they increased pallet density then I dropped to averaging 1k unless I ran anti-pallet builds. they need to fix pallet stun ranges because I have always had issues getting stunned when not in the pallet and I can't believe it's still this buggy.
