Killer Theory: The Siren

I doubt that I'm the first person to have this thought, but Arcus 1672 leads me to believe that the new killer is going to be based around the Sirens from greek mythology (Both lure in men, only to kill them.). Given this, I thought I would make an interesting killer concept to go along with this theme. This is less a theory and more a suggestion, but still something interesting nonetheless.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE SIREN (115%, 32m, Average)

Power: Captivate

Years of experience have taught you how to draw in any that you see fit. Fortunately, the Fog is no exception.

Captivate will be ready for The Siren's use as soon as a survivor interacts with a Mimic. Mimics can take the shape of any object a survivor can interact with (Generators, lockers, windows, totems, etc..). When a survivor interacts with a Mimic, Captivate will be available for The Siren's use, and the survivor will become Incapacitated [EDITOR'S NOTE: Incapacitated is a similar effect to a killer being hit with a firecracker. The survivor will be blinded (Similar to blinding a killer with a flashlight), and their hearing will be muted (Similar to the Hag's "Disfigured Ear" addon.).].

When The Siren uses Captivate, The Siren will be put into Feast. While The Siren is in Feast, she will gain the following effects:

  • Hitting an injured survivor will allow The Siren to grab them. This will put them on the killer's shoulder, and will completely obscure their aura.
  • While The Siren is carrying a survivor in Feast, both she and the survivor will become invisible and inaudible.
  • Hooking a survivor while in Feast will cause three random hooks to form Mimic survivors. Attempting to save Mimic survivors will Incapacitate the savior. Mimic survivors will expire after 30 seconds, or once the real survivor is saved.
  • A survivor grabbed during Feast will be kept in the Incapactiated state for 30 seconds after they are hooked. (Idea from @ba_tetsuo. Thanks! <3)
  • Recovery from any stun will be 25% shorter.

Once a Mimic has been triggered, the Mimic will disappear. A Mimic will not reappear in the same place twice.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I purposefully created this description without mentioning certain numerical values, because I don't know how to balance said values without getting the chance to play with this killer in a live build or PTB. Nor am I saying that this Killer is perfect, but I did try to form it with some interesting mechanics that haven't really been used before (Or at least haven't been fleshed out), such as Incapacitated or Mimics. So while I highly doubt that this killer would ever get implemented into the game, I do hope that some of these ideas may be the inspiration for other killers down the line.

Thanks for reading! See you in the fog!

I think the devs are trying to stay away from anything that SWF can abuse. With comms, this killers power is useless.

However, I really love the idea and that it's not exactly the killer that can turn into a survivor. As a solo survivor, I think it'd be really fun to play against it, but when SWF is added, it would get frustrating for killers I bet.

    Really cool idea though!

I thought about SWF while making this power. And while I think that there is definitely room for improvement, their power isn't entirely useless. Incapacitate and the Recovery increase are still factors that should be taken into account. But I do agree that there is still work to be done to make sure that SWF can't just stomp her into the ground.

Add one line to make it good against swf:

When a survivor is picked up or on a hook, their screen is black

A friend and I had an idea similar to this, but not in this great detail. May I ask about grabbing an injured survivor? What do you exactly mean by that? Like, when they're injured and you just tap M1 you instantly pick them up? Even when they're just standing? Or when they're in the dying state? Don't get me wrong, love the idea. I'm just curious

Don't worry, I just worded it in a way that was kind of strange. That, and I actually have two ideas for how to implement this, but they both accomplish the same thing.

The first is the weaker option. When The Siren is standing near an injured survivor (At a similar distance that you would need to grab a survivor out of a vault, or to kill someone with tombstone Myers, for example.), the survivor will be grabbed and put onto the killer's shoulder.

The second, and stronger option, is to replace the hit on the Siren's M1 in Feast with a grabbing-lunge. In this example, the range to grab is much longer than the former option, as it is the same range as a lunge, as opposed to the range of a grab out of a vault.

This is important, because the Siren needs to obscure dying state auras in her base kit in order to make Mimic Survivors usable (After all, if you saw the survivor's aura when they went down, you would be able to more accurately guess where they got hooked.). If she can grab the survivor straight out of the injured state without having to put them into the dying state, then it would solve the problem.

TL;DR: Yes. M1'ing next to an injured survivor will put them immediately onto your shoulder, even if the survivor is just standing, walking, running, etc..

Alright, that's actually really cool. I just swf wouldn't ideas like these.

I'm actually pretty confident that the SWF problem is fixed. The survivor being hooked can't tell where they are in relation to the other survivors, and the saving survivors can't tell where the hooked survivor is.
