*Telling BHVR we want haddonfield rework*
BHVR: Ah, a rework for lerys? Gotcha
Seriously, pass months, weeks and days almost everyone was asking for a Haddonfield map rework, who the hell asked for a Larry's map rework?
BHVR: We are reworking doctor, so that gives us and excuse to change his map as well(this is what I think they would say)
Man, I guess the term priority doesn't matter? Haddonfield is still too unbalance even with the QoL changes to BL because some of the fences and some of the loops, and just the general layout/designed of the map. But hey, lets just rework a map that barely anyone has complained about.

Yeah, I don't understand the Lery's rework logic. I mean, sure it could use some love, but Haddonfield has been the most talked about map needing a rework for...ever. How they just gloss over that blows my mind. It should have been the first map reworked.

Problems of copyright probably

Lery's is one of the maps that favours killers (statistically). Haddonfield favours survivors (statistically). So you can guess why lery's is getting reworked first. We can expect the game map to follow after this one...
20 -
Bold assumption.
6 -
Haddonfield should have been reworked this last Halloween. They could have put the chapter on sale and fix Myers first person animations, and I guarantee they would have made a killing.
11 -
Who knows maybe it'll be reworked around Halloween lol
6 -
His animations, and also his fat hands.
10 -
They should of changed rotten fields but the springwood maps are pretty survivor sided imo so hopefully they don't swing it too heavily in the survivors favor
1 -
This is 100% it. The favoritism toward survivor is killing my enjoyment of this game. Killer is unplayable.
6 -
Oh, you're one of the very few who doesn't say BL got gutted.
It makes me curious as to why that is.
2 -
Haddonfield is still statistically killer sided... It has a 56.73% kill rate.
Lerys is also killer sided with a 64.11% kill rate.
If the devs are aiming for their stated desired average of 50%, any changes should bring the maps to be more survivor sided...?
I do feel Hawkins and The Game should have been tackled first as they are the most "over performing" maps but I also think Hawkins should be left "settle" as its still quite new and that could account for higher kill rates.
3 -
I wondered about that wording myself. In no universe was it a QoL change. It was a hard nerf. Not that BL didn't need a change. But they could at least call it what it was.
2 -
Imo The only reason these indoor maps have high kill rates is because it's very hard to find totems and ruin tends to last a lot longer than it would have in open maps.
5 -
I still don't know totem spots on lerys except the spots in the exit gate areas and sidelines
2 -
Trust me, nothing in this game is killer-sided..
9 -
Sometimes they are in shower cubicles or second floor. But either way I think this the reason. If you hypothetical took ruin away or if ruin lasted the typical amount of time it normally does on other maps you'd see these kill rates plummet.

Please show me anything to substantiate this claim.
I am not disagreeing with you I would just like some evidence to support this. From the statistics released it appears the opposite. Again, I am not all knowing - I am just interpreting what is available to me in the best way I know. If I am wrong then I would love to be educated on how else to interpret them!
3 -
Guess you could say they got some...
POOR BEHAVIOR!

Okay forget arguing over stats for a second. How about we look at how much harder it is for killer to rank up. How killers are required to grind more for perks than survivor. How killers always lose their addons while survivors get to keep theirs if they escape.
4 -
Ranking is an emblem/ranking system issue. I agree it is horribly broken and should be looked into.
What do you mean "killers are required to grind more for perks than survivors"? Killers get more BP than survivors (which I assume is why survivors can keep some addons if they escape with the item they brought in provided it isnt depleted). Also the "if they escape" is a pretty big thing considering how few survivors escape (according to statistics - I know you said to ignore them but I cant!)
2 -
Its important to keep in mind a few things with the statistics.
First of all, DC's count as kills, and kills made it DC games also count. The immediate loss of a survivor will often snowball games, and I don't think anyone can argue that DC'ing isn't prevalent enough to influence the stats. ***This artificially inflates the kill rate.***
Secondly, kills made at any point in time are counted equally. This means games where killers are pulling hair and teeth to get 2 kills is valued equally to a killer game where two people suicide on hook and the killer farms with the remaining survivors.
Thirdly, and I cannot stress this enough, just because you killed the survivor and technically won, DOESNT MAKE THE KILLER EXPERIENCE ENJOYABLE. I can honestly say I've had games where people escaped and I've had more fun than games where I get everyone and have a troubling or frustrating round.
Finally, I'd just remember that since the exit gates have to be powered for more than one survivor to escape (with the exception of keys) 3ks will also be slightly more common than a 2 or 1 kill game. Just because maps lean into 60% doesn't mean that the map is particularly unbalanced or unfun to play on. On the other hand, a 50% kill rate on rotten fields means the gate is getting powered almost every game theoretically. Or, even worse, that there are enough 0k 4 man escapes go balance out killers who preform well.
There's just so many things that skew the stats that its not worth making such arguments off of them.

Firstly, NO game including a disconnect is used for the statistics.
Secondly, yes. Easy kills and difficulty kills are both counted. I dont see an issue with this.
Thirdly, I am not talking about which side is enjoyable. M1 simulator cant be much fun for those playing survivor either.
Fourthly, that doesnt make sense. 0ks obviously arent balancing it out if the average is 69%. To me, if the gates are being powered, it means that a full game has likely been played by most players. This is a good thing. Its better than a 4k with 5gens remaining (obviously too easy for the killer and too difficult for the survivors).
3 -
Very well said. It's so unfortunate that the devs simply do not care to look into what makes killer so unfun and unrewarding.
2 -
Statistics in this game make no sense if they are not divided by ranks. At low ranks, killers get way more kills. At high ranks, killers get way fewer kills. So yeah, baby killers can probably do really well on ALL maps vs. baby survivors but that doesn't mean anything for the community as a whole.
4 -
actually as a killer main pls rework the game that map is so boring
0 -
Goddammit.
0 -
Even statistics for red ranks showed that survivor escape rates were less than 50% (these statistics do not include games with disconnects)...
From Peanuts:
"The average kill rate for- according to kill rates- the weakest killer on the worst map at rank 1 is only 54.90% (45.1% escape rate). That kill rate only goes up from there for stronger killers and more killer favored maps."

It probably has to do with the licensing.
Importantly, while the Halloween owners have been open to a lot more cosmetics, and some interesting ones, they would probably have to license more buildings to make Haddonfield variations. You can only stick the same 3 copy-pasted houses in so many different layouts and still call it a new map. There really isn't much to work with in terms of assets on Haddonfield.
Fingers crossed we get a Haddonfield Memorial Hospital map made on the Lery's tileset.

None of us really, truly know why BHVR does what they do at the seemingly backwards priority they do it - but for some insight...it took them 2 years to rework Freddy into something that wasn't a horses ass.
HADDONFIELD REWORK 2022 CONFIRMED
4 -
A lot of the maps need to be reworked, just some a lot more than others. Some for their annoyances, the majority for their sizes. Personally I don't understand how there are so many maps with specific buildings that are not only safe and usually have a strong vault, but also happen to have some of the safest pallets in the game. It's the same with swamp, like that map has complete deadzones in a lot of places.
1 -
55% kill rate is still fairly balanced, out of 20 games 2 survivors survive 19 times on average. I don't think the kill rate goes up by much, the majority of times it's already at a good level.
2 -
Exactly! Its not very unbalanced! So I dont understand why people think it needs to be reworked before more broken maps such as Hawkins, The Game and Lerys!
0 -
Hawkins is a little iffy but the other two maps aren't broken. If anything the game map is quite survivor sided unless your using nurse or hag.
1 -
How about you just let them do THEIR job.
Since they’re the devs and they know what they’re doing. What if they just want to change one of their FIRST chapters to make it funner and better? They have the right to do so
I bet you that right after the Léry’s rework they’ll do Haddon.
5 -
BL was the problem, Haddonfield is fine now.
(Aside from that, have to agree with @Umbrae_pk above - let the Devs do their Job, they are not clueless at all about their game, even if their ideas for it do not match YOUR own idea, it does not mean that they are doing something wrong)
3 -
The point of these forums is to offer OUR views, criticisms and concerns. We get that it is THEIR game but feedback is crucial to make it as good as it can be even if it means that we disagree.
The devs have made some really poor decisions that they were able to revert thanks to feedback and they also made very good decisions once again thanks to good feedback.
4 -
Makes sense to work on the Doctor's map at the same time as the Doctor, no? At least that's what I've read is the reasoning.
1 -
They should have reworked someone like Clown or Leatherface first, they're under-performing so badly. Do we really need more killer nerfs when killer is already trash and unfun?
1 -
but is only statistically
0 -
Nope, I don't! Map is challenging for a killer. And that's it. Stop crying! You acting like all day every day you are going to play on this map, but you don't! So stop crying. "Git gut, or suck it up"

Take my angry upvote

Considering that Haddonfield is 1 of about 30 maps I don't see the outcry over it.
0 -
They just nerfed Balanced Landing which was made this map very Survivor-sided. Let those changes ride for a bit, and then maybe they will come back and fix it.
0 -
You make it sound like haddonfield is the only map that needs a rework and the other 29 maps a good.
4 -
Haddonfield doesn't need a rework. They fixed BL, they fixed the map.
1 -
I get they want to rework the corresponding map and killer at the same time, but Lery's isn't even in the top 10 maps most in need of a rework.
1 -
I can understand Haddonfield not being change due to licensing, but that doesn't explain any of the other ######### maps like Disturbed Ward, Ironworks or Thompson House that pollute this game.
5 -
The bl infinites weren't the only issues with haddonfield. The size of the map, the really long fences, the window placements in some buildings.
7 -
Don't get me started on how bullshit Myers house can be, even without Balanced Landing.
3 -
And change Myer’s awful stun sound while we’re at it.
