Thrill of the Hunt should not be a HEX totem
Thrill should just be a perk. What is the point of this Hex when all it does is give you a notification for each Hex totem including itself? It's utterly redundant. If you're wanting to try and protect your hexes or at least know if somebody is on it it's pointless because there's a 50/50 chance whether it's the hex that's actually doing something.

Agree. Also hope devs buff it.

It provides a BP bonus, slows Cleansing, provides tracking, and works great on high mobility killers such as Wraith/Spirit/Billy is pure totem builds (which are both fun/memey and effective).
I think it's super fine as is.

I also love when the game yells at you "THRILL OF THE HUNT IS ACTIVE" like get the hell out, quit hand holding survivors
0 -
... It does that for every hex that affects them.
2 -
i'm aware, just saying it completely defeats the purpose of that perk when it's called out as being active the second you touch a totem.
0 -
Anyone who knows what they're doing can tell that it's active the second they touch a totem anyway. It's a QOL thing more than anything else, designed to give new players the information they need as to why their cleansing speed is slowed.

but I like bringing that as the only hex and constantly knowing where someone is because they think its like devour or something like that

100% I don't understand the point of this perk. It needs a revamp.
0 -
It provides a BP bonus, slows Cleansing, provides tracking, and works particularly well on high mobility killers.
0 -
Its only a 6% slow down though. Is it noticeable? Also I was asking in terms of playability not bloodpoints, which I consider to be a separate thing outside of the sessions.
0 -
It's 30% if all 5 totems are still up, 24% if 4 are up, etc.

Thrill and Huntress' Lullaby both shouldn't be hexes. Their impacts are so small that they don't deserve to be switched off.
2 -
Honestly if they inverted how Lullaby worked (Start with no warning and every hook after increases warning time), the perk would likely be more viable. Every time I run Lullaby it’s found before the effect is even noticeable.
1 -
Inverted the warning time? You mean the skill check notification? That would be weird...
I just wish the hex wouldn't alert people as soon as you have a skill check.
0 -
@The_Meh_Teh - Do you get it now?
0 -
It would give Lullaby a chance to be effective early game even if they decreased 5 hooks total to like 3. Make it slightly more viable compared to Ruin.

veering off topic from the OP?
Thrill should be a hex perk. You want to know when someone is touching a totem, should come with a cost. This unbalances the game at ranks 10-20. Experienced survivors don't really care about working through ruin. So, basically you want thrill (non-hex) paired with devour, to totem hump? Silly idea
0 -
Yeah I guess so. I sware it only says 6% at level 3. I will look again.
0 -
6% per totem standing.

The slow down is countered by cleansing other totems, preferably, dull totems.
BP bonus has no effect on the Trial, it's just there for currency.
Tracking is useful, but the killer can only be at one place at a time.
I don't think that justifies keeping the perk a hex, especially when it's useless by itself and requires another Hex to be powerful. If the killer is spending two perk slots to make his Hex last longer, not forever, then it needs to do its job.

Ohh! Now I get you! Thanks man
0 -
Even then, it's still worse than ruin because of how it works.
0 -
Probably but the gap in effectiveness won’t be as much.
0 -
Dull totems don't warn the killer, that only applies for Hex totems.
Nevertheless, if TotH is going to remain a Hex, it should do more than what it does. I do have an idea, but it's kinda corny in my opinion. 😁
2 -
I agree it shouldn’t be a hex, but hopefully it would still alert survivors
1 -
Shouldn't be a hex and all hexes shouldn't alert survivors except ruin. There shouldn't be a clear indicator when you need to scour the map to look for a hex. Especially when most of the hexes do almost nothing until fully charged. The hexes that should warn you are the ones that are in full effect from the beginning, but Thrill of the Hunt shouldn't be a hex to be included in this.
Thrill is not so powerful of an ability to be a hex. Meanwhile even compared to The Third Seal which permanently blinds anyone you hit is a good example of how strong a hex totem has to be. The counter play to it already exists in the fact that if you do all the totems anyway then it's a wasted perk slot.

Makes sense - My TotH build uses all 5 totems @_@

The only killer I cannot cross map after a totem notification with TOTH is Burger King Myers. I would legit never play survivor again if Thrill got buffed like that. You could NEVER get rid of a hex totem if you couldn't get rid of Thrill, as 99% of killers break chases for their precious totems.
But then again, I don't have problems with Skill checks, so Ruin is a joke when i'm playing against it regardless. We already have a problem with DCs and 1st Hook Suicides. You're practically begging solo/new players to uninstall the game. I'm already mad enough at queue times when I play killer. Come up with an actual idea instead of making the game harder for a specific part of the pbase. I already feel sorry when I get to post game and i've dumpstered 4 low ranks because Matchmaking is garbage.
