This is so silly. Statements like this show people don't understand how markets work. If the customers are continually dissatisfied they will stop buying the product. Consumer feedback should be at least considered, not ignored, if the company wants to continue to grow. No one is saying the players should make the final decisions. But when the community who actually plays the game for hours at a time tell the devs that a change is bad, the devs should slow down and think about it.

nice assumption there bud, but I play both sides on dbd and I don't complain about queue times, if it's bad on one side, I switch, if it's bad on both, I go play something else, boo hoo. again, you will not be missed if you leave. if you actually care about the game, test the ptb, give feedback, wait for it to actually go live and see what happens before making a full judgement, you don't know what this will do to the game, you don't know if it's going to be good or bad, you're having a kneejerk reaction because you clearly rely on this perk while playing and don't want it changed, but literally everything In this game is subject to change, get used to it or leave like you said you're going to.

Hence why I said probably chief. And no, I never used ruin because there was always a chance it would get taken out then I'd be playing with 3 perks not 4.
And why wait for a change to go through before judging it if we already know it's going to be bad. If the devs said it will now take 4 hooks to kill a survivor, I'm not going to wait to see how that works out before pointing out how flawed that is.
Finally, you won my argument for me. If the que times are so long that you switch to a different game, then that means there is one less person playing. Multiply that over time and poof the game is dead.

Tbh I do not think the Ruin change will worsen the performance of top tier killers. They have excellent map pressure and will still be able to benefit from Ruin. FYI, a generator only needs to regress for 8 seconds to regress 5% (the same as old Ruin). Assuming there is only 1 generator, the new Ruin will regress the generator much faster than the old Ruin. They will also no longer have to waste time kicking generators. The only killers that will be affected are the low to medium killers, which is why I think the Ruin change is bad. It only nerfs weak killers.

As a survivor you wait 10-15 minutes for a match sometimes while as a killer I always immediately find a match, but the catch is I’m a green rank always going against purple-red rank SWF, and I know I’m not the only one with this issue. My point is, the match making issues and wait times are probably because there are so many more survivors than killers, the more months I play of this game the slower wait times are for survivors. I think giving killers constant nerfs is driving killers away, and if this keeps going it’s gonna be a huge issue if it isn’t already. I know survivors have received some nerfs, but it’s hard to argue that they’ve gotten more than killers at this point. I think Behavior needs to start looking out for their killer base before they lose too many, because I’m fixing to stay a survivor because of the matchmaking issue alone.

you can say whatever you want, but you just plain don't know what you're talking about. like I already said, there's a PTB happening tomorrow, at least play with it in game and then give your opinions about it, this crap happens whenever something changes, everyone thinks they know what's going to happen, the forums blow up, then people try it either it's just fine or they give feedback and try to affect change that way, rather than acting high and mighty like you know everything , because that's exactly what you're doing whether you care to admit it or not. just like everyone else, making a bunch of noise when you know nothing.

wrong, ruin did the 5% regression AND stalled the progress of gen repairs, so it was more than 5% total progress lost
current regress rate is 1/4 the base repair speed of survivors, I.E it takes 4 seconds for every 1 second of progress,
80 seconds of 1 survivor = 1 gen. that is 1.25% per second
base regression is 1/4 of 1.25% which is .3125% per second of regression
ruin at most DOUBLES the regression rate when survivors are not on the gen. so that means regression rate is .625% per second

I'm gonna give yall a bit of a spoiler. I'm saying like 98% of other killer players because as much as we say stupid stuff in the heat of the moment very few people are gonna quit the game because of changes to a perk that's not even irraplaceable.

I'm main surv,rank 2, in the rare occasions in which I find a killer without ruin, the game ends in few minutes leaving me a feeling of "way too easy".
If this will become the standard, it will pass probably not more than a week before I'll lose interest and move towards another game.
In my opinion this update will be the beginning of the ejd for dead by daylight.

Old Hex Ruin stalls the generator for 2 seconds and it takes 80 seconds to repair a generator so the stall adds 2.5% regression totalling for 7.5% regression.
It takes 320 seconds for a generator to regress 100% (https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Generators). For it to regress 5%, just do 5% times 320 and divide by 2 for the double regression speed, which is 8 seconds. For it to regress 7.5%, it would be 320*7.5%/2 = 12 seconds. Regardless, the main reason why I think the new Ruin regresses generators faster is that top survivors actually land most to all of their Hex skill checks, so you are not actually getting that 7.5% regression in high level games. You will see this when you watch high level survivor stream.

Have you ever watched Otzdarva? He never uses ruin at rank 1. He uses other perks and plays like a God, you could learn from him. I like this change.

When 2% leave because of this, and 2% from the last legion changes, and 2% more from whatever killer need they throw out next, it adds up and pretty soon 10% of the base is gone in a couple of months. Kiss that revenue goodbye

Ruin wasn't that great of a perk before, it was used in most matches because it curb stomps new players, but against good ones you may as well call Nicholas Cage cause' that **** is Gone in 60 seconds.

I can't show you because steam doesn't break it down that much. Even we want to get into anecdotal evidence on a small scale though, I have personally not played since the legion changes, and I'm pretty sure Ulven Dagoth (sorry if I spelled his name wrong) has also stopped. I'm sure there are more who are not in the forums who stopped as well.

The stats are extremely unreliable as not only do they not account for the absolutely broken matchmaking, they don't account for variables such as survivors suiciding on the hook or others. Anything else you wanna pull from those stats?
"Walking is a valid counter because of a bug" - yeah, no. You don't balance a game around bugs, and the bug doesn't even effect everybody.
I love how you also attributed my inability to outplay Spirit to the core issue, without a shred of evidence. I play Spirit, and it's boring easy. I've seen way to many Spirit games and how you can abuse her lack of actionable feedback.

Even if they fix the bug, it's still hard to hear footsteps while playing as spirit. So there is plenty of counterplay. Just because you can't jump a window and escape her doesn't mean she's op.
I can go with the stats presented to me, knowing they are flawed, or I can base everything off of your spirit experience. I think I know which is more dependable.

I have more fun playing solo than SWF. My friends are way less experienced at this game than I am and we have no chance with the current match-making. In fact, every friend I've tried to introduce to this game has quit because of it.

The stated goal was to go after ad ons with maybe slight change to base. The changes were less then minor.

Without ruin a lot of killers kill rates would go down since we'll be having so many quick games plus imagine killers without good map pressure on big maps like mothers dwelling, you'll pretty much have to end your chases in around 20 sec each if you even plan on pressuring out all the gens before they pop. Also they never even touched toolboxes or gen speed so this could be even worse. But if this new ruin was its own perk and we can keep the current ruin it won't be as bad which they could hopefully consider doing and please the community a bit.
