They need to do cross platform or make it a free game.
Seriously, with queue times being absolutely absurd, the only thing they can do is make it cross platform or open it up free and call it a beta.
Option 1:
If possible, cross platform would be amazing. It could also have the game a little less toxic in the sense of harassment in end game chat, and less swfs on mics. Don’t show that someone is on what platform- less of a chance to receive hate mail. More people queueing up means less of a chance to run into a SWF on comms.
I play Paladins and they also have cross platform even with PC, and you can choose whether or not you want to go against keyboard and mouse, or if PC wants to go against gamepad. It would be YOUR choice, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to. I like this idea the best.
Option 2:
make this game FREE. Let people come and go as they please. This game does not run flawlessly though it’s been out for years. Call it a beta or (“early access”) like Fortnite and make your money with purchasing characters/battle pass aka RIFT. The game would still make a lot of money because I truly believe not many people are gonna come anymore- so make your cash a different way. Most games do not have this problem that Dead By Daylight does, so why punish those who support you yet can’t get into a game? Someone comes to this subreddit to decide and they’ll most likely turn away just by hearing “long wait times”. I got this game when it was free... I doubt I would have bought it if it weren’t. I think it would help a lot if were free, truly.
I would love for the DEVS to see this post. If more people agree, we need to voice this and make it happen! Don’t stop talking about it.

I think cross-platform would be great, and it's something the devs are already looking into.
As for the second option, making the game free to play might help with queue times, but I think you're underestimating how much money they make from game sales. Although you may believe that not many people are going to be picking up the game anymore, the devs have access to the actual data when it comes to that, so they actually know for certain whether their customer numbers are falling or not.
DBD was one of the top bestselling games on Steam in 2019. Strictly from a business standpoint, there's no compelling reason to make it free to play as long as that many people are still willing to pay for it.

I should have specified that I play on PS4. Survivor wait times have been over 10 minutes lately- and extremely long over a year other than some minor changes. Yes, of course I believe that if they thought the game was going down, they would do something like making it free or not. But I truly believe a lot of people have left and will continue to leave. I think it being free would make them much more money because of everything they offer. To compensate losing money from games bought, add a currency to actually BUY a perk or bloodpoints.
if cross platform could happen sooner rather than later, I’d be over the moon.

I don't think that the "free to play, pay to win" model is the healthiest way to go about it. I can't really see the devs pursuing something like that, because they've been pretty vocal in the past about not wanting to allow people to buy things like bloodpoints.
I too would love to see cross-platform become a reality, though. It's still in the early stages as I understand it, so we might be waiting a little while, but I'll be excited for it when it does come.
