So guys, I have a question about ranking.
Oh boy, so I was trying to level my Cannibal up to P3 and guess what? I get a lobby full of rank two survivors, which would be fine, if I wasn’t rank ten. Could someone explain how this must have happened because my poor Leatherface had his ass torn off and handed to him on a silver platter.

There is a bug in the game at the moment where the matchmaking servers occasionally receive incorrect ranking information from the killer. This can cause them to be matched with survivors far outside their rank. It's something the developers are aware of and are currently looking into fixing, so hopefully this won't be an issue in the future!

Everything posted below that mentions "when" a rank rework will take place is purely speculation and should not be treated as an official date or rough estimate of time for said changes.
Take what I say with a grain of salt, as i'm going off of the road-map as a reference.
Anyways, back to the road-map
With the current road-map, we have some insight on to WHEN the new ranking system will be implemented. As shown below, a new ranking system will also follow suit with the match-making being changed, so we should see some development on say oh... Chapter 15 or so, since we're soon to be in that section of the road map.
There is no date on WHEN this will take place, but it should be in the near future for 2020, as the road-map extends into 2020.
in conclusion...
We're currently about to enter the mid-section of Chapter 14 and Chapter 15, with a new Map Rework (which I presume is The Doctors, since the PTB is out with the new map changes for him) and soon after we'll get into Chapter 15 on a later date.
During that time, we'll eventually get some word on the Rank Rework, but for now we wait.

Check out the road-map some more to get an idea on what's left, like I said above, we're currently in-between Chapter 14 and the upcoming Chapter 15.

You get a lot of funny bugs in systems like that, especially when complicated algorithms are involved 🤷

Hopefully the Rank Rework will sort things out once and for all.
We just have to be patient is all, whether others can be patient or not is... not something that's up to me. The point is though, we should see some development on this soon. Since if you're reworking the Ranking system, than the match-making will also be changed as well to reflect this change.
Of course this is all speculation though, so we'll see what happens in the end.
