Im tired of this broken item. Honestly, it's just a slap in the face after all the killer's hard work. Can they just change or remove the purple key and make the red key be able to allow ONLY the user to escape instead of everyone else following behind? Rework moris too, that's fine with me but seeing a key almost every match is just getting ridiculous with the power it holds.

Nothing "needs to go", just to be reworked
Just like moris, they deny the work of a side towards "victory". So, ask them to rework keys and moris. That's all.
just like toolboxes should get adressed now that Ruin is reworked, since map design takes way more time to correct.

Well, I'm a rank 1 and when i see a lot of items, i just take Franklin's
It works. Just make sure the guy who lost the key wont find it again. If you chase correctly, there's no way they'll take the time to pick up the item again.

Keys only work if enough gens are done... If you have a bunch of people escaping by hatch that means you were already losing badly. And they are very rare or ultra rare.

Pick Leatherface
Equip Franklin's Demise
Hit and drop the key
Camp the key
One less key to worry about

As a killer main, I think keys should be changed. Not let purple or pink keys spawn in the boxes.
That being said, I also believe that moris should be changed as well

@VincentRedfield is 2 people with 2 gens left considered losing badly? A killer can still bring back the game with 1 gen left and 3 survivors especially if the gens are close. There are too many probabilities and situations to say "losing badly" but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I believe it needs to be reworked. Also very rare and ultra rare aren't that rare bud. I have close to 30 keys on Jake. Don't even talk about moris.

So if there are 2 gens left and 2 survivors that means you're losing badly and a game you could possibly double pip is now a safety pip just because of an item and that's a good thing to have in game? I have to disagree.

I had many games where I played super fair and everyone was on death hook. Then I kill one guy and there’s one gen left. All three escape through the hatch with it help of a key. So if I’m losing badly this way, I should just tunnel or slug all of them so they just die on their first or second hooks right?

Keys at least have to be worked for to escape. Mori is way more broken at least the ebony one. Ivory and cypress can stay thr same for all I care. But to be able to hook and then kill instantly is very dumb. Def 4 times.

I've put on a post a while back with rework ideas for keys.
Personally i think a mori should either only be able on death hook or only on the last survivor.

But at least thry have to rework the keys and mori's.
I always thought of them as broken items/offerings and it still nothing has changed my mind about it.
And personally, yeah get rid of the hatch too imo.
As a survivor it is your job to repair 5 gens and open the exit gates.
If you and your team are unable to do so then you shouldn't escape trough the coward hatch.
Sure you might be the better survivor in that match and the other 3 might be weak af.
But that still shouldn't still be an excuse to get an easy escape though.
When i play survivor, i never care if i escape or not.
Only if i pip, that for me is a win.
If the game only awards a pip when escaping than yeah, i would make sure to get all gens done.
But even playing as if i won't escape, still gets me out 80% of the time, trough the gates an not the hatch.

Lmao! As a solo survivor, I have to say that you're idea about getting rid of the hatch sucks. I can't communicate with my team, nor do I know their skill level. If I get stuck with taters, and I'm doing well, usually that hatch is my ONLY chance at an escape and my reward for playing well. Maybe take it out of SWF matches but solo players shouldn't be punished for having teammates that don't know how to play.

Agree, the gen speeds are pretty fast imo.
To be fair, when i play killer i can get games last for about 15 minutes, even with scratch mirror myers i managed to get a 4k on the clown map 🤷♂️
But when i play survivor and am just screwing around i get mostly 8 minute games and escape 🤷♂️

They don't need to go, nor do they need to be reworked. That goes for both keys and mori's. What needs to go is people taking the game too seriously. It's just a game. Stop trying to suck the fun out of it. It's a CASUAL game.

Agreed. Keys are the most broken items in the game. If you are playing solo queue, they are extremely selfish as you pretty much give yourself a free escape while simultaneously screwing your teammates over. We’ve all had that useless Claudette teammate who did nothing all game but still gets a free escape because she brought an item.
If you are playing swf on the other hand, they are just plain OP because if your team starts losing, you and your friend/s can just go immersed, group up find hatch and escape while killer is still patrolling gens. There is pretty much no counter play because even if killer brings franklins, you can always just pick it back up, and even if the killer tunnels the person with the key, your teammates can still grab it off hook.
I personally think the devs need to find a way to balance keys between solo q and swf without completely destroying their purpose. They also need to add more counterplay for the killer so it’s not just an insta lose if a survivor brings key.

Well tbh, i also only play solo survivor.
And i escape 80% of the time (playing both sides at rank 1), i never search for the hatch directly, but if i find sure i will take it.
But lets be fair.
As survivor you have only 5 gens to repair, even with ruin that can be done in 5 minutes.
And than open the gates and escape.
Now 99% of the time survivors start next or very close to a gen so the repairing starts almost immediately.
The changes a killer finds a survivor that fast is close to none ( on very tare occasions you start close to a survivor)
So by the time the killer gets his first hook, the changes are big 2 gens at least pop during that (unless that survivor sucks at looping)
Now the killer needs to hook a survivor 11 more times 🤔
So personally, if you can still screw up then as a team (even as a solo survivor), you don't deserve the escape.
If i'am the last survivor and not all gens are done, then i would care if i die.
I know i did well, cause the game lets me pip and i know all the things I've done to help my team.

I personally hate that the keys can reopen the hatch after the killer closes it in end game. So the killer is supposed to guard 2 doors and a hatch. Real balance there....

Casual games are supposed to be FUN to play. If one side can easily make the other side’s game miserably unfun through one single item, it is the devs’ job to balance it out. The moment I saw survivors bring a key into the game, I would say “oh f**k”. The moment I saw a killer using a secret offering, I would take my hands off the keyboard and say “f**k it”. Because I know these games aren’t gonna be FUN.

As a solo surv, I would welcome the total removal of the hatch. At least then my mates would know that their only chance at survival is getting the gens done and they would stop camping the hatch.

I started bringing mori's every time a saw a key in the lobby.
Also franklins can be a fun counter cause they will always come back and search for it.
And especially with wraith that can be so fun.
Just hit, cloack, pretend to go somewhere else.
And 5sec later they come back for it, easy down 😂😬

It has one playlist. It's not called "ranked". It's called "Survivor". It having ranks means nothing. Super Mario Bros U had ranks too. Guess it must be competitive.
That argument is invalid.
You have only yourself to blame for not having fun. Same with killers who complain the same way. You take the game too seriously. Learn not to care about your rank which matter so much less now with the way matchmaking works. It goes a long way to making the game fun.
Don't nerf that which makes the game fun. Nerf your competitive attitude, or go find a competitive game to play.

2 people left with 2 gens is a win for killer, period. There's no way a decent killer loses in this scenario without keys involved.
3 people left with 1 gen is a tossup, but a killer could still bring that back. Keys completely deny that.
Keys autowin endgame collapse scenarios. That's not too healthy either but I could live with that.
The only moment when keys aren't problematic is when all survivors escape through hatch when the gates are powered, because if the game got to that point kills should be hard to secure. But other than that they're a ridiculous item that has no place in this game.
Keys should have a longer animation to open hatch and hatch should close after one person gets through it. That would make them somewhat bearable.
But don't pretend killers need to be "losing badly" for keys to be a problem. Generally it;s the opposite. If enough survivors have died for hatch to spawn with 2 gens left the killer has the upper hand, as they should in this case, period.
Moris are even more ridiculous and require less effort to use but this is not the topic of this discussion so w/e

Team is relative in this game. Just because I'm in a match with 3 other people, that doesn't mean we are a team. When we play like a team, we can die like a team. When we play like 4 ppl that don't care about one another such as someone on a hook with Kindred and you have 2 or 3 people doing nothing but crouching in corners and let someone get sacrificed, we aren't a team and I'm not willing to die with you. When no gens are done by the 2nd hook... There's no team. In matches like that I will locate the hatch just in case. I still heal and attempt rescues, do gens, get in chases etc but I'm not going to risk anything for folks that don't have my back.

True, I've had games like that too.
What i do is the best i can, and see how far it will bring us.
If not than better luck next time.
I've had games where i did all 5 gens, and by no means do i play immersive.
Even had a 7 minute chase ( yeah it's true, the bubba didn't want to lose me for some reason) only 2 gens done, eventually no one survived.
Sure i hirts when you know you are doing so much for the team and it's all for nothing.
But even than i say better luck next time.

I don’t care about ranks despite I’m rank 1 on both sides. Personally I don’t bring a key nor a mori into the game because I care about the fun of the other side. I want people to enjoy the game.
If the majority of the community consider those experiences to be unfun, then it is devs’ job to satisfy the majority of their customers not minority like you.

I don't have issues with it. It's just a game. I move on to the next game. If I was smacked right off the hook, either the killer was camping, or I was farmed. Both of which are the fault of the survivor who unhooked me. Not the killer.
As well - don't presume to speak for the majority. You're not their mouth piece. This forum is far from the majority. In fact, the majority of the community isn't even on this forum. Cause they don't care about it as much as you do.
It's just a game. Nerf your sweaty competitive attitude, stop caring about wins and losses, and just have fun. It's not up to the killer (or if you're a killer, the survivors) to facilitate your fun.

Uhm... You didn’t answer the question and I didn’t say one side should facilitate the others fun at all. I’m not blaming these people that bring in keys or mories, it’s part of the game, but that doesn’t mean it should be.
Maybe you don’t care about getting moried or losing because of a key, but the fact remains that many people do so why shouldn’t anything be done about it?

Several days ago I peeked Peanits stream. He was playing a rank 2 huntress game. I saw him got 2 kills. In the end chat, the survivors asked him, why you camped and tunneled? He responded that “oh I saw you guys brought a key and I assumed we are gonna play sweaty.”
I think the majority of the community have agreed that camping and tunneling is not fun. Don’t even argue this fact with me. And if a key is causing “the representative of the devs team voice to the community” to choose an unfun play style, there’s no reason this item should not be looked at.
