The killers that are most fun to go against are the ones with strong powers, that require some skill and practice to use well, with good counterplay options for survivors. That way you can make the interaction between survivor and killer - the fun part of the game - more interesting and dynamic, with opportunities for both…
-
I was trying to think about it from the opposite side; which killers do I actually enjoy going against? There's Billy, Oni, Bubba (assuming he doesn't just camp the hook)... umm... Blight's ok, if he's not doing the incredibly unimaginative ruin/undying/tinkerer thing... Huntress would be fine, except her massive hatchet…

Is it at possible that you don't in fact have extensive data and sources to back this up and rather you're just personally unhappy with certain aspects of the game and have turned to hyperbole to vent your frustrations?
-
This is going to sound crazy, but your opinion isn't absolute fact. I know, it's pretty far out there, but the thing is, different people have different feelings about what is and isn't fun. It's bonkers! But that's the wacky world we live in.

How many years ago was it they promised they'd fix the bad performance on console? Then radio silence since. But please keep buying new chapters and battle passes and costumes. Either they don't care/prioritise fixing their game on console (I'm talking ps4/xbox one/switch), or don't know how to. I'm not sure which is…

I just went against a demo and noticed this: I could hear his portals before they were activated. I'm on PC too.
-
The ones I really think could use looking at: Deathslinger - With his ability to quickscope, as a survivor your only real counterplay is to try and break line of sight and/or hope he misses. On some maps this is easier than others, but overall results in a feeling (against decent deathslingers) that your input as survivor…
-
I mean I get it, it can be really irritating. But on the other hand, I really can't blame people sometimes: Forever Freddy, stridor Spirit, Deathslinger, Hag, teammates all crouching around not doing anything, Midwich, Haddonfun, The Game with its new 10 billion pallets, etc. There is a lot of BS in this game that can be…

Why is the 'leave' button when spectating up on the top left now, when all other 'spectate'/'continue'/'ready'/etc. buttons are down on the bottom left/right? I know it's small, but it feels really awkward.
-
For what it's worth: The new UI gives me a headache, and I mean literally. I play on PC and having to look all around the screen now, plus having to strain to see things like the hook/sickness/head trap timers, etc. leaves me feeling physically uncomfortable after a short while of playing. This is compounded by the new…

It is frustrating. I love the game, but the lack of action on the dev's part is disheartening. Bugs that have been in the game for so long and not been fixed. Poorly balanced perks and killers that don't get updated. Sticking infinites and breakable walls in map reworks and thinking that's good. Promised optimisation that…

Sorry, just to play devil's advocate: BT is easily counterable assuming you can count to 15. A lot of survivors in my (anecdotal) experience who try and rub it in your face will hang around trying to goad you into swinging, but you can just count down in your head and then hit them.
-
Playing as killer I always feel it's a bit churlish picking Franklin's. It's like an angry toddler slapping toys out of the other players' hands.
-
Aye, it feels like a token gesture to try and placate folk up in arms about the 'event' this year.
-
This just feels like a bandaid to try and appease folk unhappy with this year's event. It's just 'log in every day and get enough shards for a costume' now. Although the first halloween event they did with the flowers and that wasn't perfect, I really miss having that feeling that some thought and effort went into…

I believe one issue with OoO is that if you're not a skilled survivor and you use it, it probably will get you killed, hence their stats that show a lot of people die with it. If you are a skilled survivor though or in a decent group, you can use it to bully the killer like no other perk can. As you mention, it's…
-
Hmm, like you say: they want to make money from it. Maybe they're adjusting the xp required to complete it to try and tempt more people into paying extra to finish it before the deadline. I really dislike battle passes because of this; the FOMO approach to getting people to play your game and pay extra feels manipulative.
-
Well, to play devil's advocate, playing against PH is #########. In a loop you either vault and get hit or don't vault and get hit. I mean, that shouldn't stop you playing who you want, but you have to understand a lot of people are gonna have a bad time playing against him.
-
I'm not sure what your point is. How does that affect their decision making?
-
This is such a ridiculous thread; he's been out for a day. But woah! People are suddenly getting better at him!
-
The max healing speed is 100%, isn't it? I.e. you get no additional benefit from having 'botany knowledge' when 'we'll make it' is active.
-
On one hand I'd agree with you, but on the other - this is BHVR we're talking about.
-
Your post is self-contradictory. In the first paragraph you acknowledge the devs said ranks don't matter, then in the second paragraph you go on to complain about how you're getting matched with players at a higher rank than you. With the MMR, a lot of experienced players were finding they were regularly matched against…
-
No, of course not. He was a serial killer who murdered and mutilated women.
-
It would be good to know!
-
What about skill being a decent indicator of skill? Its been very obvious of the skill differences between players in many of my matches since the update. From seeing killers unable to deal with loops and getting bullied (and I mean bullied; I've seen survivor teammates tbagging them, flashlight blinding, crouching behind…
-
I just had a game of clearly very experienced survivors against a brown rank newbie killer. I felt awful for them and wouldn't be surprised if it puts new people off playing. The new matchmaking system is not good.
-
I would like to see existing bugs fixed and fewer new bugs introduced each update. I'm confused how so many new ones are introduced when I assume they're running QA before releasing. It does feel like cosmetics are the priority, and I'd assume that's because people are spending money on them.
-
No. I'd wager almost every survivor can get to red ranks, if not rank 1, given enough time. You'd have to really be ######### up every game not to. From my experience there's such a huge variance in skill in the red ranks, from crack SAS squads, to derpy megs who camp and slam every pallet in the first two minutes of the…

People who are toxic like this online are just sad. You should feel sorry for them :( If they're being really awful, e.g. racist/homophobic/death threats/etc. report them, otherwise just move on. There are nice players out there!
-
I'd love to see this happen!
-
It won't, it'll make things worse. More demanding graphics = more stress on an already underperforming platform = worse performance.
-
I started playing on PS4, then went to PC. Trying to go back to PS4 though is terrible. The difference the low and inconsistent FPS makes, particularly when playing killer is really noticable. Survviors know they can exploit 360s on console, and will do so, to lose the killer/make them whiff their attack. This just doesn't…
-
Thing is, you can't force someone to play the game. There's plenty of scenarios where a survivor is just going to want out, for whatever reason. E.g. playing against a killer they find really unfun (be honest, there's a few that suck to go against), teammates are just sitting on gens leaving them to die, bad lag making the…
-
I love seeing flashlights in a lobby: it likely means you'll have survivors hanging around trying to get a save, instead of doing a gen. They're easy to avoid - look at a wall, or bait the save out then go for them (stop over the downed survivor like you're going to pick them up, then turn around and look for the person…
-
Thanks for this!
-
They replaced a lot of tiles in Ormond with those boulder ones... which are way better for survivors! You can see over them, so the killer can't mind game them.
-
She's a killer with a high skill floor. As you say though, she does suffer quite a bit with certain maps, e.g. Hawkins. With practice though, and assuming a not terrible map, she can end chases extremely fast, and down multiple people at range. She's definitely not on the same level as nurse/spirit/billy, but she's right…

"QUESTIONS ABOUT OPTIMISATION There were also many questions received about game optimisation. There is a special subcategory on the forum for reporting optimisation-related bugs (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/optimization). The more specific information, such as platform and in-game circumstances…

I can't read/listen to the lore things because of how badly they're written and voiced. It's like it was done by a couple of enthusiastic, creative writing students.
-
Thank you for this :)

The scariest thing in this game now isn't a beefcake psycho with a machete, or a demon ogre with a taste for blood... it's 4 Neas in bright clothing, with toolboxes, in a swf with comms. I can't believe the devs can miss this. Ruin wasn't perfect, but it at least served a purpose of slowing the initial game down, giving…
-
Well I don't wish to argue semantics; he managed a couple of hooks towards the end, but generally got looped all game while the gens got knocked out. And maybe he did derank, but it didn't seem like it: he was trying to play the game out and catch people. And even if he did, rank 18 players shouldn't be getting matched…
-
Yeah its far too dark. Any survivor in dark clothing with urban evasion can just vanish.
-
I was coming to post the same thing - the new map is way too dark. I have to turn my monitor brightness up high just to try and see anything. Survivors in dark clothing will just disappear during chases.
