DS is still used in tournaments as a backup anti-tunnel perk. OTR literally can't be countered because it provides 80 seconds of guaranteed extra health state (and unlike DS can be used twice.) It's quite obvious that the survivor meta hasn't received nearly the same treatment as the killer perk meta over the years as…
-
The reason so many killer mains are annoyed is because Behavior has established a pattern of nerfing the meta killer regression perk to the ground (see Ruin, Pop, Thana, now Eruption) while the meta survivor perks have been lightly touched and mainly stayed viable.
-
Tell me why is it that Hex:Ruin, Pop, Thana, and now Eruption were nerfed to the point of uselessness while the longtime meta survivor perks like DH, Sprint Burst, DS, Adrenaline, Unbreakable, and Deliverance have been lightly touched at most and are still meta?
-
Easy for survivor mains to say when the hardest nerfs they get are slight adjustments to DH and DS that don't even knock them out of the meta.
-
Name one survivor meta perk that was gutted to the ground. Most old meta survivor perks were left the same but just dethroned by even stronger perks like Circle of Healing and Off The Record. DS was the only one that had serious attempts at nerfing but even it is still viable in tournament meta as a secondary…
-
Exactly, that's why Pain Res will be nerfed. The most popular regression perk is always next on Behavior's chopping block.
-
Use rates are not a direct indicator of what is currently meta. Self care was already considered a mediocre perk and part of a long dead meta by the time Circle of Healing rolled around, the use rates only indicate that many players are not aware of the current meta. keep in mind Off The Record was weak for a long time…
-
"Gutted to the ground" implies that they are essentially useless. As I just said DS is still viable in tournament meta. Iron Will and Self Care were just replaced by the stronger Off The Record and Circle of Healing. Spine Chill was never super meta compared to the other perks mentioned previously that have barely…
-
And yet the survivor perk meta has barely changed over the years. While meta killer perks like Ruin, Pop, and Thana got nerfed to the ground the old meta survivor perks of Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Adrenaline, Unbreakable, Deliverance, and even Decisive Strike are all still viable in tournament meta. The old meta survivor…

Name one meta survivor perk that was nerfed to the ground. Even weakened DS is still used in tournaments as a backup second chance perk.
-
Bruh none of those perks got nerfed to the ground. Most of them just stayed the same and got dethroned by even better perks like Off The Record and Circle of Healing. Spine Chill and MoM are still usable and new DH is still meta.
-
Sure the basic mechanics of the game have been improved for killer but are you seriously going to make the claim that the survivor perk meta has been shaken up anywhere near as much as the killer perk meta over the years? Doesn't Hex:Ruin and Pop getting nerfed to the ground ring a bell? Eruption is the latest such victim.…
-
I'm sorry but it would have happened with me or without me. It's just the pattern of dbd balance that whatever the strongest killer regression perk is gets nerfed to the ground while the survivor perk meta remains unchanged.
-
Woah hold on there buddy, this is dbd we don't nerf any meta perks to the ground unless they're for killer.
-
I also forgot to mention Circle of Healing for good measure. Either way the point is that the killer meta is constantly targeted by Behavior's nerfs while the meta survivor perks are barely touched. That's where the complaints come from.
-
This has been a long-time accusation that sparks much debate in the community. I think one thing is self-evident. Behavior places WAY more emphasis on nerfing the meta killer perks over meta survivor perks. Just look at how little the survivor meta has shifted over time compared to the killer meta starting with the old…
-
Ok, now play survivor without ever using Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Off The Record, Adrenaline, Unbreakable, or Deliverance. If not it's a skill issue because you aren't playing without crutch meta perks.
-
Correction: Only weaker low-tier m1 killers will be affected as strong killers like Nurses, Spirit, and Blight barely even need regression perks. Everyone's just going to start using pain res until it gets nerfed as well.
-
I think a case could be made for an increase in popularity of Brutal Strength since pallet kicking may become more important with the Any Means Necessary buff. That being said gen kicking builds will no longer benefit from a strong Eruption so I predict that Pain Res+Dead Man's Switch will become more popular as it…
-
We did fine because we moved on to stronger regression perks and Pop was abandoned. All OP is saying is that Eruption will likewise be abandoned.
-
Combined with Dead Man's Switch it basically produces the same effect that Behavior says Eruption was nerfed for, which is that it disadvantages survivors that aren't in swf on comms because they don't know when the downed survivor will be hooked. It'll be used by every killer now until it inevitably gets nerfed like every…
-
Woah hold on there the mind changing hasn't occurred yet so don't get ahead of yourself, anyways both contribute to the toxicity of the game so somebody that tbags at the exit gates has no right to complain about getting facecamped or tunneled which are the killer equivalents in toxicity save for maybe bringing Moris
-
Part of why I mentioned Bloodhunts is that the Bloodhunts in this year have been pretty subpar compared to previous years so I was hoping for another one, but maybe that's wishful thinking.
-
Sorry we wanted a decent way to slow the game down besides Pop Goes the Weasel or stacking perks like CI and Surge, also Ruin Undying is nowhere near as bad as the old ruin was. The current ruin can be countered by just not getting off the gen.
-
Wow, I've got to hand it to Behavior, I never expected to ever see fully merged cross progression. If it does show up on console (which it sounds like it very well might) I gotta give them props.
-
Yeah I knew that but I figured since it sounded like Behavior has plans to do it for console it'd be worth asking how it works. So does it actually COMBINE two accounts or can it only carry over one account?
-
Hag cause heart attack fuel Spirit because almost impossible to counter Trapper for similar reasons to Hag, I hate looking down
-
Nah, everyone that plays Insidious Leatherface knows what they're doing is wrong, but does it anyways.
-
Yeah, thought it was fitting since Ghost Face players can either be chill or be toxic and tbag survivors. It's a strong killer that can also BM, but most ghostfaces only BM survivors that deserve it.
-
It's generally a playstyle used by trolls because it's the best way to subtract fun from survivors. You actually sacrifice bloodpoints and score by using a camping playstyle. Also most basement bubbas throw Moris on top of it. Not that I don't play basement bubba...
-
The only maps that are really bad for survivors are Shelter Woods and Hawkins, but they're still way more playable as survivor than Ormond, Fractured Cowshed, or Haddonfield are for killer. Shelter Woods is large enough that survivors can still genrush and Hawkins still has some decent loops with the scaffolding.
-
Did they nerf the God pallets on the Asylum and the balconies on Haddonfield yet?
-
How come they disabled killer switching in lobbies since MMR has been canned? I thought the whole point of disabling killer switching in lobbies was for MMR. That's the main reason why I thought my matches were MMR matches.
-
Huh. I guess I've just gotten lucky lol. I think MMR will benefit most players though, it's only the red ranks that will suffer.
-
Looks a little dated, most people think Billy got knocked down now that his addons suck, also not so sure that wraith and trapper are that low. Also Plague is a hidden diamond in the rough that nobody uses because she doesn't have much of a "cool" factor, but she's actually very strong, not much worse than Huntress. The…
-
Yeah, it seems like the new wave of like 5 new killers that have come out have had pretty underwhelming perks so far, but an exposed status effect for working on a gen? Now you've got my attention. Not that I'll buy it, I'll just save up shards because I don't want to encourage Behavior to keep pumping out new killers…
-
You'd think most of their money comes from cosmetics and rift stuff considering that the non-licensed killers can be bought with iridescent shards for free but I guess you're right. There's no money in rebalances and reworks.
-
All of the purple cosmetic packs cost $10, split that between two people and I could easily see it adding up to $700 if you bought like, every single cosmetic pack. Anyway that's OP's fault.
-
It sucks to take the good with the bad. A much-needed Bubba buff with a pointless Billy nerf. I guess Behavior can only do so much for killer before survivor mains complain. I mean if we really need to nerf killers why not start with the ones people actually complain about like Spirit.
-
Not to mention it's just a waste of time. Behavior could have spent their time fixing legion or clown but instead they devoted resources to pointlessly nerfing Billy. How disconnected can the devs possibly be from their community?
-
It was so uncalled for. Who in the hell complains about Billy? I hear plenty of complaints about other killers but Billy has been known to be balanced for a long time. The nerf was a waste of time on Behavior's part and will only alienate older killer mains even more
-
Frankly the newer killers have an edge over the older killers in terms of appearance because design got perfected over time.
-
Billy is definitely a strange killer to nerf. He's been considered strong but fair for a long time and I think everybody expected Spirit to be on the chopping block first. Not to mention a lot of old killer mains like Billy the most so it sort of alienates a lot of veteran killer players.
-
I get the same problem, it is hell coming back to this game just trying to get bloodpoints and immediately running into the worst survivors when you don't even have good perks or addons. I guess there just aren't enough red rank killers for all the red rank survivors.
-
Yeah it seems like most veteran players are saying matchmaking and SWF are the biggest problems with the game. I think it was Truetalent that suggested a SWF UI and bonus bloodpoints so killers can lobby dodge SWF, not sure if that's the best solution but maybe the only possible solution lol.
-
Shame. Hopefully there is a practical way to resolve the issue because I really don't like being constantly matched with red rank survivors that had to wait an hour to find a match.
-
There's really nothing like it. In spite of all the "pretty good job so far" moments you won't find a competitive horror game as good and dare I say balanced as dbd. And yes, I'm including that one game all about the Trapper chasing down people trash talking in voice chat.
-
Ahem EVERYTHING CLOWN CAN DO FREDDY DOES BETTER also no map control
-
Yeah I agree with most of what you said, I just compared Freddy to other m1 killers in that I think it's unfair Freddy gets a disproportionately large amount of criticism for being "boring" when there are other killers I would argue are more boring, but get overlooked because they're not strong like Freddy is. I don't have…
