I mean sure, then just hook them... but I really haven't seen any survivors doing this in my games
-
I don't know about you but survivors are already taking tapes in a good 1/3 of my games or so. She still feels incredibly strong in those games because most survivors can't loop so it's trivial to catch tape holders. That aside, I'm not sure what your statement has to do with Reiko's? If anything you should be wanting a…

I don't think any character in any game needs to take skill to play or to play well, but it's nice and rewarding when they do. When characters like Sadako used to have some modicum of skill expression and it gets taken away, it removes part of appeal of the character that originally drew players like me to playing her and…

Where did anyone say she needs to be weak? Who is making that argument? Seems like a strawman. Check my thread. I've called for buffs to parts of her kit. Saying "it's been a week" when we've been playing her for over a year and can readily see how the changes pan out is the exact sort of mentality that leads to the…

I don't play much survivor, I'm speaking as the killer :) It's really not hard to cut off a survivor who is carrying a tape in the vast majority of matches. It encourages a style of play in which she tunnels down and slugs a tape carrier or two tape carriers and usually this leads to me getting a condemn at 4 or 5 gens.…
-
I pretty much exclusively play her as killer so... After having played her quite a bit, I still disagree. There is absolutely no reason to hook in nearly any game but there are plenty of reasons to slug, especially after downing a tape carrier.
-
This isn't the only reason she feels easy. Global Condemn as a mechanic is an easy thing for her to work with. It's a lot of pressure on survivors with little effort on her part besides using her power on cooldown. The pre-rework Sadako at least had some skill expression in the form of i) demanifest mindgames, ii) keeping…
-
To expand on this: I think it would be really healthy to put a cooldown on the infliction of global Condemned from Projection (say, 30 seconds) which would be separate from her Projection cooldown. Her pressure on uncoordinated teams is absurd strictly because of the new global nature of Condemned, so this would make her…
-
So now that she's out and we've had the chance to play her, I think my original impressions are confirmed: She's super super strong against uncoordinated teams to the point of being oppressive. Absolutely feast-or-famine matchups because against good survivors who can loop she's more miserable to play as than she used to…

I'm not sure if you actually read what I posted, because this is pretty much what I've said :) I agree, it's bad that she's emulating other killers and I'm upset that this is the best way to play her with the rework.
-
Yes, you could. This is exactly why Ring Drawing users slug, actually. They appeared to want to get rid of this playstyle based on i) the Ring Drawing nerf ii) the change in today's developer notes to make a hit destroy the tape, but they've only done the opposite since the chasee is once-more vulnerable to…

This is like saying tombstone Myers is all in on doing a mori instead of hooking. Of course he's all in on doing a mori, that's his kit. And it's Sadako's kit too now, since her new condemn is global rather than local. I don't see any reason to ever not be all in with this rework.

I agree that it's likely they're looking at a spreadsheet somewhere. Would love to hear more from the balance team about what that spreadsheet looks like! What's Reiko's Watch's usage %? What's its win %? What percentage of loops in each game does she win due to Reiko's Watch? Would be great to see these numbers on our end!
-
Yep, I do think there are many of us who want to hear more about the thought process that went behind the nerf!
-
This seems likely! Fortunately, we know that this goes against Michael's claim from 2 months ago that the team also looks at design intent and community feedback. Looking forward to opening a dialogue with BHVR on the issue of Reiko's Watch!

I mean this is assuming that the Sadako isn't running Iri tape. This may be just me but that seems a bit unrealistic, she's not really playable without it in the rework. I'll at least never be running her without it.
-
Yep, sorry, you're right! Doesn't really change anything though because you'll still hit 7 stacks by the second down since they're not protected from projection-induced condemn after the first hit. It's functionally the same.
-
Oh, that's right, sorry. So all you need to do then is (assuming you get 20 seconds out of chase before or after the down) teleport twice before and twice after for 4 stacks+2 from chase = 6, then they're still just 1 stack away. It does require another set of teleports but you still have pretty much no reason to hook them…
-
What do you mean? If you down them that's 2 hits = 4 stacks. If you teleported just twice before they got the tape that's 5 stacks. All you have to do is slug them and hit them once for the condemn mori. You don't get to do that if you hook them and destroy the tape. I strongly recommend against ever hooking with this new…

I will say that I'm very glad to see that they changed the cooldown on projection (though 10 seconds is still too much) and lowered the cooldowns for TVs (SUPER happy about these durations). Not really happy about anything else though. 2 stacks per hit with no hook incentive is crazy. I'm just going to slug anyone who has…

That being said, there's basically no reason to hook now and 2 stacks per hit is ridiculous. I'm just going to slug anyone who has a tape now. Would…

Having played Sadako on the PTB all day: this is most definitely not a buff.
