The devs know that. They themselves mentioned this on a dev stream ages ago (I believe it was somewhen in 2019). And yes, sadly enough, despite them being aware, nothing has changed.

That's the "sinking" function (no, I did not made that up). Let me quote the Vanilla staff from the Vanilla Forums: "Sink prevents a discussion from being 'bumped' back to the top of the list when new comments are posted. This allows admins and moderators to quietly cause a discussion to lose importance and die without…

The console hardware absolutely isn't the problem. Way more demanding games with great graphics are still getting released for consoles and they run without issues (one of the newest examples being Ghost of Tsushima). The devs simply a) don't know what they are doing or b) they don't care about console.
-
It's not a console problem, it's a DbD problem. Other, way more demanding games run fine on console. If the devs are not able to make a game run properly on console, then they simply should not release it. If you sell a product, then the customers can expect and demand that the product they paid for is working. (Also there…

Unrelenting does not reward for making mistakes, it makes the punishment for making mistakes less severe. But Fire Up is a good example! It's even 20% on tier 3 after 5 gens, that's basically like Brutal Strength, just only after you've dealt with all the pallets at the end of the game.
-
The only people to blame are the devs who still haven't a released a fix for that mess. The un-nicest thing a killer could do would be to completely ignore the survivor stuck on the hill to the very end, and that is still not reportable.

Just compare a) the amount of people demanding "we need dc penalties" when penalties are disabled vs b) the amount of people saying "we don't need dc penalties" when penalties are enabled. We have a clear winner.
-
I agree. I would prefer to run around and fetch gas for gens with the risk of running into/getting found by the killer (and decrease gen time a bit), instead of sitting at a gen the majority of the match.
-
We have been talking about a 2nd objective for ages. I made a thread where I suggested filling gens with gas back in May 2019 (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/65083/concept-for-a-2nd-objective-for-survivors/p1 ), others had similar ideas. I know you don't want to fill all gens with gas, but the basic idea is…
-
I'm sure that wouldn't hurt the devs financially. They would however notice if console players stopped buying DLCs and auric cells. And that will happen if the game becomes unplayable.
-
A very high number of constant complaints increases the chance of things being fixed, there have been several examples in the past. However, I'm afraid the true problem is not that the devs don't want to work on optimization but that they simply don't know how to do it. It's probably not unrealistic to think that…

That's not how it works. You cannot get Iridescent without at least 9 hooks, but having 9 hooks doesn't automatically give you Iridiscent. You get 2 points for each sacrifice/kill/dc (bleedout doesn't count) + 1 point for having hooked everybody at least once + 1 point for at least 9 hooks. 1 point = Bronze, 4 = Silver, 8…

Even streamers with high-end pc's experienced frame drops with the PTB (when gens get done, for example). So it looks like there will be big problems for console with the next update. It doesn't have to mean the death of DbD on console yet, but we might not be many patches away from it.
-
You are complaining about nothing. Corrupt doesn't regress gen progression. If a gen is blocked, just go work on another one. And for Ruin & Pop: You can't even use these perks together. As long as Ruin is active, you cannot Pop anything. On the other hand, the strongest survivor perks do work very well together. Is that…
-
Omg. It's not that bad for me (yet), but when it gets to that point, rest assured that I would not continue to play DbD. And maybe this is the future we are looking at. A couple of patches in the future, performance could be like that on every console and people will stop playing. 🤷
-
Also the moonwalking survivor has to send 100$ to my paypal.
-
Hmm...yeah..they look similar. I'll up the ante with a comparison between Yui from the chapter trailer and Ai Tominaga. This could become a fun thread. Edit: somehow the pic doesn't want to upload :( Edit Edit: here it is :)

I assume you would be fine with removing the ability to kill oneselve on the hook for survivors?
-
I never saw a reason why we needed 5 "variations" of the same map in the first place.
-
Survivors can leave the match early and avoid the dc penalty by killing themselves on the hook. Killers can't leave early. It would only be fair if a) killers could leave early, too or b) survivors would not be able to leave early anymore. If people want to treat both sides differently, it just shows their double…
-
Not a lot of console players want to play killer in the first place, so lobbies are instant anyway. Opt-out survivor queues aren't that bad atm either.
-
And in this situation the killer can simply respect/outwait Soul Gard, like killers do with DS & Unbreakable. The killer will still be faster than you and reach + close the hatch first (if it hasn't been closed before anyway). You'll have better chances if you pray for the killer's game to crash or internet to go out.
-
Just give more points (pip- and bloodpoint-wise) for a 3k and less killers will slug for the 4k. There are some who just want the 4k, yes, but the majority cares more about the points and finds slugging boring, too.
-
I think she is pretty popular compared to other killers. (Every killer is hated by some people, nobody is loved by everyone.)
-
I think the "killer mains vs survivor mains" community war is getting replaced by "pc players vs console players". 🤷
-
Imagine the amount of complaints if DS would get changed vs the current amount of complaints.
-
You can still easily see whether the other players are on your platform. Just check whether you can access their profile.
-
A smaller playerbase can explain one role having long queue times. If both roles have long queue times at the same time, the problem lies somewhere else. That's my point. A big difference between surv and killer rank would be a logic explanation. OP mentioned they are a rank 1 surv but never told us the killer rank. If…
-
The whole "which platform is better" topic is about technical stuff - mostly the frame rates. You'll find people sitting in a corner everywhere.
-
So? In their reply to me, the OP wasn't referring exclusively to Xbox but making a general statement, instead of replying to my point that rank could play a role in this case. If the OP told us they were a lower ranked killer, we'd already have our explanation.
-
I watched a high rank PS4 killer streamer who opted out of crossplay. He still got instant lobbies.
-
With disabled crossplay, how can your queue times be too long as both survivor and killer? Are your ranks that different?
-
You are not unlucky. Not a lot of people on console want to play killer, and if they do, then they will opt-out of crossplay. 🤷
-
It's the devs' fault that the game is not running with 60 fps on console. We don't even have constant 25 fps. Other games with way more demanding graphics & gameplay show what the console hardware is capable of.
-
It's correct that the Clown update took a toll on performance. However, I'm not sure whether a memory leak was the problem or just the usual spaghetti code. Stranger Things definitely brought a big memory leak to the game.
-
I've watched a PS4 streamer the last couple of hours. He tried playing killer against pc survivors. His verdict: After this stream, crossplay is getting disabled. (Note that this has nothing to do with players' skill and everything with performance.)
-
That it is a dev issue is very true. Still, console suffers more from this than pc.
-
Under 50 fps? Console players would be in heaven if they got constant 25 fps.
-
That's something we can do. I want to see an actual date and then I want to see actual improvements. The sub-forum for performance issues has been existing for half a year and I haven't seen anything happening.
-
Console players are only asking for fair matches, either console-only crossplay or optimization for console (most important: increase fps). Why do some pc players present it as if asking for a fair match was a bad thing?
-
If the devs see our reasoning and give us console-only crossplay, then we might not have to go to 9 pages. ;)
-
I'm looking at it realistically. Actions speak louder than words. After 3 years I want to see changes happen to the game, not somebody telling us "the team will take a look into it". This reply is not worth anything. Please note: I have nothing against the community managers or the mods. They are just the messengers and…
-
You were talking about denying pc players "the best bonus of crossplay". I'd say a fair match for console players is not less important.
-
Watch any console streamer and take a look at how aweful performance on console is. Also mouse + keyboard.
-
PC players first?
-
Crossplay only between consoles with pc left outside would make sense, yes. But take a look at it from the devs' perspective: If they would do that, they would acknowledge that such an option is necessary because performance on console is on an unacceptable level. That's not going to happen.
-
A major memory leak came with the Stranger Things update. That has been almost a year ago. If the devs haven't found & fixed it by now, they never will.
-
Not to be a Nancy Downer here (despite the profile pic), but the reply was "the team will take a look at it". The existence of this thread was what got acknowledged, not that fps are highly problematic. I don't even want to start about actual dates for improvements. (Disappointed PS4 player since June 2017 here)
-
It will be opt-out, so crossplay will be enabled by default and you have to actively disable it. Otherwise, the devs would have told us it's going to be opt-in.
