there been times when I went through the hatch and got an adept and for some reason it doesn’t with Adam? Is that a bug or has it been changed that you have to go threw the gate?

since yesterday my friend signed on just see her huntress wolf mask and David jacket was gone including all progression for the summer event. Has this happened to anyone else?
i will get 5 hooks or 5 gens and it will only give me 4. Doesn’t happen everytime but every 4th game
