I imagine this is the most likely explanation. I imagined that the Entity is involved with it in some way since the Unknown's lore seems heavily intertwined with the Entity taking people.1 -

Faat paced high adrenaline chases, and unlike Blight he's actually manageable. The Wesker player base are certainly an interesting bunch however, as you rightly said.2
