That's because the spaghetti code gets worse with each update, so the game becomes more demanding with each update. The better the pc, the better it can compensate the bad programming of DbD. So…1 -

Remove hooks. (Downed survivors can re-spawn somewhere else on the map.) I know, that wouldn't be DbD anymore, but it's the only way to completely remove hook camping from the game. 🤷4 -
