NOED Meta Incoming...
After the next patch, NOED will become meta.
Reasons:
-Punishes Gen Rush
-Requires survivors to prolong the game to deactivate
-Can turn a game where the killer is Gen Rushed around
I'm almost 100% certain that it will see a huge increase in pick rate.

Except NOED is a crutch, not fun, easily avoided and only works endgame. To to mention DS, Unbreakable and BT escapes

I don't think it will be a protest, but it is the best second chance perk that killers have. Slowing the game down to disable it is just icing on the cake.

Children mad that someone took their favorite toy away. People really need to just relax and adapt to these changes. It's just a game after all...
Purposely playing like this to protest changes isn't going to change anything. They won't revert decisions because some man child is having a hissy fit. you're pretty much just ruining the fun for everyone involved in the game. Very childish.

It will definitely happen, especially if the new Hex:Ruin is as bad as most people think. I am not so sure myself. Not being required to kick a gen is theoretically huge. I don't know - I can't test it on the PTB, because I play on console.
As killer I always refrained from using NOED, because I always preferred to slow down the survivors to the point when I can kill them before they finish the gens.
However, at the current state of meta, more and more killer mains - the decent ones, not the bad ones - will be losing any "moral doubts" about using NOED. Survivor mains in red ranks have absolutely no qualms when it comes to abusing DS and BT, so, yes, you can expect to see more NOEDs.

It's already starting to happen. I have seen a lot more people using NOED since the announcement.
NOED is a lot more annoying than ruin devs. I'm sure new players will have tons of fun :)

Except with the Ruin change it's no longer a crutch.
Ruin's original use was to slow the gen progression so a killer could play the game.
With the loss of Ruin, gen progression is no longer slowed down.
Since the killer has fewer options to slow the gen progression, the option for an endgame setup becomes more appealing.
NoED is an endgame perk becoming available when all gens are finished.
While yes, newer killers can utilize this perk to get a kill or two if they're bad, experienced players can plan for the Endgame scenario with this perk in mind and deliberately allow survivors to work through gens quickly.
Bad killers using NoED will have to deal with BT, DS, Unbreakable and such since they didn't get rid of them during the course of the match.
Good killers using NoED are going to force you to use those second chances before you finish the last gen... and then suffer the consequences of not cleansing every dull totem.. and still be able to pip since Gatekeeper was changed.

It’s not the killers responsibility to make it fun for survivors. They have the right to play however they want. It is the Game Developers JOB to make it fun for all players. If tunneling and camping make it unfun for survivors, then maybe, just maybe, the devs should look at the core issues rather than bandaid the problems.

So you guys prefer to make a perk that most of the community doesn't like to become meta instead of making a secondary objective? This makes no sense for me.

Its a crutch because its used to save your ass when you suck at the game, so you surprise than with instadown. I know because I strughled with Wraith to get my first 4k ever so I killed 2, slugged third, and NOEDed 4th to not get insta hatched by 7 ranks higher surv. You need to hook surviviors close to engame, not slug them and let them use adrenaline. Adrenaline used to heal during a chase is pro gamer move and almost only works with SFW.
Just dont let them use it, no need for NOED

Selfcare nerf pushed players towards no heal/adrenaline.
This may push killers toward slugging.
Both have always been in the game but the change forces the new strategy.

For real, a secondary objective makes everyone happy. Killers get more time to play the game and survivors don't have to be pressing m1 the entire game with some looping in the middle.
Hex:Ruin was a bandaid fix to the gen rushing that can be done. Now without it or you sweat your balls at red/purple ranks, or the games end in between 4-6 minutes.
I want to have fun, but because i simply can reach red/purple ranks without trying, i get stuck in this infinite loop between going to fun ranks and going to sweaty ranks. I choose to sweat because i can get bloodpoints from there, bein a add-on less and no ruin legion player i need to sweat even harder.
I will uninstall until the game gets better and the devs start to listen to the right people (professional players that play this game for a living), or maybe ill play survivor once or twice every 2 weeks but not more than that.
Killers will leave the game and will be more toxic towards survivors, now that's a guarantee. Queue times will be gigantic and matchmaking is bugged so i think that we are hitting dark ages 2 IMO.

Won't work, totems spawn right next to gens and in the clear open anyway so it's not like people need to go off searching for them.

Noed and blood warden will indeed increase. I think a lot of killers will be playing end game builds.
Others will adapt and play top tier killers.
I think they will rework pipping for killers so that we can still pip with like 1 kill and multiple hook actions.. They want us hooking and chasing survivors. Maybe get the weakest link or two and the others get out. Just hard to switch to that mentality as a killer after all this time.

Honestly NOED becoming meta at any given time is just a sign the game is in a bad spot duration wise.
Good killers don't use NOED because they generally prefer planning their win condition around not letting all the gens get completed. If you can no longer play for that win condition somewhat reliably it's just bad.
Besides, NOED being popular is even worse than Ruin for new players. New players don't know totem spots and generally don't cleanse dull totems. The chances of them looking for Ruin while the game is still manageable are much bigger than looking for NOED while they're exposed. Lower rank survivors will just end up leaving 1-2 people behind every single game which is just crappy gameplay imo.

I don’t see NOED on PC that much ever since I got to higher ranks. But it does make the game more exciting when I do see it. It is a pain to face, but I’m not going to fault the killer for it. They’ve been playing the match with 3 perks, and risked losing NOED if the we did all the totems, which I cleanse on sight of I spot them due to my greed for bloodpoints.
It also extends the game just a little bit, which can be nice. Some killers need it, especially when they have to face 4 borrowed times, 4 adrenalines, 4 decisive strikes and 4 of what ever second chance perks the survivors choose to equip.
