Ok all you pros
I have been a ruin crutch leaning, baby killer for two years now and looking for advice on a new build for my wraith.
Thinking corrupt, thrilling tremors, discordance, and pop. Or, corrupt, surge, surveillance, and something else... Maybe pop? Seems weird running that work surge though.
Give me suggestions please.

@goat10em Corrupt is really good for "funneling" survivors toward you at the start of the match. This helps find people faster instead of running around the map wasting time. Pop w/ surveillance is a pretty decent combo as well. You could probably throw in a BBQ & Chili for that extra useful info and bloodpoints. Sloppy Butcher would be good since Wraith is an M1 killer. When it comes to builds, try different things out to see what works best for your playstyle and the killer you're playing.

Also, Spirit Fury and Enduring is also really good on Wraith to force pallets down early. If you walk through a pallet while cloaked and they stun you, they just wasted the pallet. You can then uncloak for an easier hit since they're out in the open without a pallet.

Moris. Or switch to survivor.
4 -
Drop Wraith, play a viable killer.
4 -
Drop Wraith, pick up Spirit, same vein and style, but better at literally everything
4 -
I mean, someone is asking for a serious advice here and gets the usual, childish Comments:
Insidious Camping
Moris
...
When it comes to Gen Regression, you should consider PGTW as your first Choice. Corrupt Intervention is nice as well, but except that you corner Survivors a little bit, it does not have that much Benefit for Wraith, since his Playstyle is different.
Personally, I use: BBQ, Brutal Strength, Enduring, PGTW, which is more a Build for Chases. You can also go for a good Slowdown with Sloppy, Thana, Nurses.
Or, when you want to use Surveillance, you can go for that with new Ruin and Thrilling Tremors. But this depends on a Hex again, so I dont know how useful that will turn out in the end.

Play him with no perks & add-ons.
If you lose, it's normal, so you don't feel bad. If you win, well, that's entirely survivors' fault or you're just too skillful.
Not to mention you won't get hatemails :)
PS: i do it from time to time with any killers

BBQ and Chili is a necessity, due to the fact of poor map pressure for him, you want to be getting to survivors asap.
Nurses calling is an underrated perk on wraith, the ability to sneak up on survivors with alot running self care or bringing a med kit is great.
Hex: Devour hope is another underrated perk on Wraith, and often survivors don't clean it at high ranks due to it possibly being Hex: Haunted Ground. It is a big risk and reward perk, but if you get up to 3 tokens the insta down is something else on him.
Finally, I'd say either sloppy butcher or discordance for your last perk. Both work extremely well with Wraith.
For add ons, use an add on that decreases time going into invisibility and and anothertone that decreases time coming out of invisibility.

I have 2 Wraith builds and both do really well. And yes ... I played these builds WITHOUT Ruin always.
Chase Build:
Spirit Fury, Enduring, Pop, BBQ Addons: Shadow Dance / Windstorm
Hit and Run:
Nurses, Pop, BBQ, Save the best for the Last Addons: Windstorm / Blind Warrior (Green)
I personally only used Ruin at Killers that needed a "preparation" such as Myers, Trapper, Hag, Oni. But its definatly not requiered. It is more like a psychological "need" of Ruin what the most ppl have. They feel naked without it and I can TOTALLY understand that. I have the same feeling with BBQ, not because of the BP, I love to find my next target instantly after I hooked someone, I hate to run around without a clue and try to find survivors.

Run slug wraith with deerstalker, knock out, nurses, and sloppy

Blame rank 15s not us.
3 -
Well...do you want early game pressure or are you okay with a late game type pressure?

Edit - I've deleted my first comment, as I missed an important detail in yours, so if you've already read it, ignore what I said.
On my wraith I run BBQ, Surge and either surveillance and nurses or spirit fury+enduring or save the best for last and enduring depending on how aggressively I want to play and whether I've been annoyed by pallet campers. I play without addons, but the clappers are always fun to use

I dont have corrupt intervention perk, but i almost got enough shards to unlock another killer and its probably gonna be the plague anyway.
Corrupt intervention seems good on wraith cause hes cloacked.

Sloppy Butcher - Land a hit and not only does it take longer to heal, but it makes blood more prominent.
A Nurse's Calling - See people while they're healing through the Sloppy Butcher.
Spirit Fury - Take pallet stuns, break the pallets, the one that gets dropped on you after the proc instantly gets destroyed.
Enduring/Discordance/BBQ - Depends on what you like. Personally I bring either Discordance or BBQ because I like vision on survs, but Enduring is synonymous with Spirit Fury.

Wraith has a ton of map pressure so maybe fix chase instead of a ton of regression. Imo STBFL is a great perk on him because you surprise attack people and have a bigger chance of hitting them again with the smaller cooldown. Nurse's is a great pick on him as well. I would go with Pop, discordance, Save the Best and Nurses/Sloppy

I'm really liking the surveillance / surge combination.

It's great for tracking and works particularly well on stealth killers like wraith who can down a survivor before they run far enough away from a gen. One thing that's a bit tedious to keep in mind is the cooldown on surge - sometimes you have to wait a couple of seconds before downing a survivor in order to wait for the cooldown to run out and get value out of the perk. You get used to that though.

Survivors didn't take your ruin dude. Devs made the changes. Most high ranks didn't even ask for it.
Throw a tantrum if you want but don't hide behind the fallacy of " oh they did this to mean. I will now do this to them."

Pop, Nurses, Sloppy, and a final perk of your choice, dying light I can suggest.

I despise DL but love your other suggestions. May go with those 3 and thana maybe? I also hate thana so i don't know lol.

@goat10em I am not a pro but... those are good perks for Wraith
Barbeque & Chilli (bloodpoints, and if you can use the aura reading part it will save you a lot of time)
A nurse's calling (Survivors that are used to heal as soon as possible will become your new favourite, they relly too much in terror radius and when they spot you're going there, it will be too late for them)
Surveillance (This will help you to know which generators are being worked, since old maps have a poor design) If you have not Surveillalnce, there is an ultra rare add-on for Wraith called All seeing.
Also, I highly recommend the following add-ons:
Windstorm & Swift Hunt.

Its prettt much personal choice that 4th perk, from BBQ to bitter murmur, there's not nuch left to synergize a 4th perk with those 3, thana would be good for increased slow to healing really benefiting an increase to his invisible terror radius, but if you don't like to you don't have to. Thana would be the best synergize to follow. Maybe instead of thana or dying you could do something like...I'm all ears, or give yourself better starting capabilities with corrupt.

Watch the second game, starts at 06:20. You're welcome

My Wraith, I run Corrupt, Spies, BBQ, and a random 4th depending on my add ons I am using but Surveillance is usually in the rotation.

One thing I recently learned as playing killer is to play for fun and accept that you’re not going to win all the time. It’s just how the game is, and the sooner you accept it, the better time you’ll have.
Wraith is my main (Still newish at the game) and I find that add ons are more important that the perks. You should always spend the blood points to get the add on that increases your movement speed while cloaked. It really helps with pressuring gens and looping survivors.
If a survivor is obviously a good looper, cloak and head to the gens and target someone else. It is also nice to bodyblock them since you can cloak, out run them to a pallet or doorway and un-cloak in their face.
Another thing that I think is fun/funny, is when a survivor is in a room with a generator and you uncloak in the doorway and they have no escape. I love standing there watching them run in circles. You can usually do it on the second floor of Hawkins and on Michales maps in one of the houses.
Another good add on is the one that lets you see through walls when you’re close to the survivors. It’s really helpful in finding immersive players.
Finally, the Coxcombed Clapper makes your bell silent which is really nice for grabbing them off of generators and to instill fear in them because once they realize they can’t hear you, they’ll be paranoid the whole match.
As far as perks, I like Whispers, it really helps to find survivors. I also use the one that reduces the cool down on your M1 strike (I’m still noob so this helps) and I don’t have it yet but Lightborn will help since Wraith is weak to flashlights. NOED is good if they don’t cleanse all the totems, mainly because Wraith isn’t great at ending loops, which is why it’s best to always go for the weakest survivor and never take bait from strong loopers. Ignore the survivor who comes to find you and starts twerking or flashlight clicking. They will just waste your time.

As an avid Wraith player, I can easily get by at all ranks with the same set-up.
Brutal Strength, Enduring, Spirit Fury, BBQ
You keep pressure by constantly having someone on hook, forcing them to go save while someone else is getting downed.
Still having trouble? Run Coxcombed Clapper or Bone Clapper with "The Ghost" Soot to get the jump on them even easier.

that is the most scary thing about the near future, many killers will do this if adjustments wont be made shortly after this patch.
As a killer I play as Freddy so it would not do any good for me but I can imagine all killers with no gen pressure will start to tunnel and use insidious

Taking the approach of ######### your pallets lol. I like it.

This is pretty evil. I like it.

wraith is probably my favorite killer to play. I'm trying to plan a new build in the hopes that he does get fixed because i'm the same, his bugs have kept me from playing him lately.

I've been a pretty big wraith main ever since I joined in 2017, and right now my 100% favorite build is:
Perks: BBQ, Pop Goes the Weasel, Save the Best for Last, and Sloppy Butcher
Add-ons you can go one of two ways. Either you can do:
Any Windstorm + Any Clapper OR The Ghost + Any Clapper
Hands down the best build(s).
2 -
Ok I'll give you two builds I like on wraith and briefly explain it.
Build 1:
Haunted Ground (no one expects this on wraith and as fast as he can get around the map, hes able to find people fast. This adds lethality and a snowball to wraith.
Surge: Hes a M1 killer, so why not? Plus this combos well with thrilling tremors.
Thrilling tremors: (or bbq) this allows you to see the gens people are working on and b line there after u hook someone so that you can use..
Pop Goes the Weasel: Just an amazing perk.
Build 2:
Haunted Ground
Pop
Bamboozle to help him in chase by shutting down some loop but if you are really good with mind games you can use bbq as bbq is really good on wraith because of his movement speed.
Discordance: This helps you find people who are stacking on gens so you can run them off of it and initiate chase. Also can use sloppy butcher here as it helps wasting peoples time with healing.

There are honestly 47292649 other posts where we can air our grievance on the ruin change. Let's not use every thread on the forum to do so please

Do you brother, but no one expected this nerf. Sounds fun just standing in the corner. Enjoy your 15000 pts.

thana, sloppy, dying light, pgtw.
0 -
Sloppy, thana, nurses, bbq..the objective here is to force injuries and if you cant get the down quickly use his cloak to move and pressure in other areas..if you can get downs fast they'll start healing..I'd reccomend wind storm and bone Clapper addons as they synergize with the perks, reducing their fear of the ball and letting you use nurses to lunge at them around walls..knocking down the injured one if possible and take out the healer for more pressure..pretty much the best you can do with current wraith

Make Your Choice, Surveillance, Pop Goes the Weasel, Barbecue & Chili

Everybody is of course allowed to play however they want to. But you must realise how childish you sound, or not?

OOOO are we talking about retaliation with ruin?
I'm just gonna run my basement ghostface. Think insidious Bubba but sneakier, and teabaggier.
Sit where you can hide from people walking by, but have a good view down the stairs; wait for someone to go in for some reason (or just down someone near the basement and take them in); then repeat process as you can't get BT'd while in stealth and can always sit far enough away to not be spotted by Kindred. GGEZ Lemon Squeezy

Where in my post does it look like i'm talking about retaliation for ruin?

Because I have the skill and accuracy of a rank 20 huntress and clicked the wrong quote button for my remark

For both of those, the main thing I'd be concerned about is that you're running four perks to slow down generators but nothing to help you end chases faster (especially on Wraith, who isn't the greatest in a chase).
Can't speak for everyone, but I'd probably swap two of them out for Spirit Fury and Enduring. Wraith's really good at closing the distance, but loses a lot of it as he uncloaks. You can use that to your advantage to burn through a lot of pallets quickly; a lot of people will stun you as you uncloak to avoid the speed burst you get after you uncloak.
If that ain't your style, something like STBFL or PWYF is nice. PWYF is nice on Wraith in particular since you can cloak to instantly end a chase and get a stack.
That way, you'll be able to get some shorter chases and get that pressure up faster. Totally up to you, though. If you'd rather focus only on slowdown because you're confident that you can get quick chases with the Wraith, that works too.
6 -
I think 4 generator perks on any killer is overkill. If games are going way too fast when you're not stacking gen perks, the games aren't going too fast BECAUSE you're not stacking gen perks. There are other factors at play. Remember that you're facing 4 survivors, not the 1 you're chasing.
Wraith in particular eats pallets for breakfast. I'd at least have Enduring. He often gets free first hits, sometimes with survivors in really bad spots. Save The Best For Last can allow you to get 2 hits in if you catch the survivor in a deadzone. You'll want some tracking too. Nurse's/BBQ are good. Thrilling Tremors if you run Pop. Lastly, take a gen perk. Corrupt Intervention or Pop. If you really must have two, drop Enduring.

Just p3 my bubba haha insidious was on a bloodweb fasy aswell

Not sure where the passive aggressive ending comes from on a post that's genuinely offering someone tips when they asked for it. By no means should that have insulted you on a personal level to warrant that.
It is a bit of a gamble. It doesn't happen all of the time, but it will happen from time to time. It's best used with Nemesis or Furtive Chase (and actually quite a bit of fun, it's my go-to Wraith build). Whether the OP wants to switch up their builds that much, I don't know, that's up to them.
2 -
I love me some Nemesis/Furtive Chase/Make Your Choice. I was using it on Freddy, but now that you mention it, Wraith would do quite well with it.
0 -
It's great, I would highly recommend it. Cloaking and uncloaking while chasing your obsession gets you a stack, so you can build them up in no time. Only downside is that- unlike bubba- you need two hits to down someone, so you'll typically want to build up another stack before finishing them off.
3 -
Very good point. I think I do this too much on all my builds...as in I put too much emphasis on the gen slowing perks. I actually just asked zubat about my builds and his answer was about the same suggestion you are giving as he said "I just run the basic ######### spirit/enduring on wraith" lol.
