So Matchmaking isn’t even worth a reply?
I see post after post, thread after thread made talking about the matchmaking ness right now. Screenshot after screenshot of a rank 12 killer going against all red rank survivor.
Last night as a solo survivor my team was all rank 1-2 and we had a rank 17 trapper... the guy literally got zero downs.
But the devs haven’t made a post or Twitter about it. Haven’t responded about it. In fact I actually saw one hop into a thread about matchmaking and reply to a quote about killer balance (trapper vs Billy,) while completely ignoring the actual thread topic.
So is BHVR dead set against even acknowledging this problem anymore? @Peanits are they all still on Christmas break? What is the plan because it’s not fun to steamroll a killer like that and I can’t imagine it will keep them coming back either.
And please don’t say they’ll learn to get better, the gap between 17 and 1 is way too big for them to be learning much, even with how inflated red ranks have gotten. And if you try to tell them something endgame chat you get accused of being mean somehow.

Is it a matchmaking problem that can be fixed by coding or is it actually that there are not enough high rank killers to go round so the game eventually starts any way it can regardless of killer rank?
I think its the latter. They need to make playing killer more appealing / less frustrating but without annoying survivors. The eternal dilemma.....

The devs always completely ignore the actual question on the post and respond to someone asking a completely off topic question on that post.
Example:
OP: "BHVR the new ruin changes are really bad can you explain why you did this?"
BHVR: ….
Random dude: "I bet it's really strong on Billy"
BHVR: @random dude "it is :)"

If that was a 4man SWF then that lobby isn't a problem. So where they are 4 man or no?
I still don't understand why people think match making will ever get better with SWF in the game?
Not saying they can remove SWF, but how do you think it would ever get better?

Combine the rank reset not moving people down in rank enough, with match making using the highest ranked survivor in the lobby... How is match making ever going to get better?

Old matchmaking on PS4 had a certain logic.
You could add up the total of the survivors rank, divide by 4 and often that would match your killer rank.
So as a rank 10 killer you might get a pair of rank 5's and a pair of rank 15's.
I quite liked that. It felt fair. I guess the distribution of the numbers doesn't allow that anymore..

They know its not working atm and have replied on posts. This is a quote of what peanits said in a thread a couple of days ago.
"We're looking into matchmaking issues at the moment, and if all goes well, we're hoping to share some more info on that later this week (no promises, fingers crossed)."
They have always said in regards to issues constantly being posted about that there is no point saying the same thing over and over when they don't have anything to share right now.

That's good to know, I wish they would update things like this in a FAQ or news section though. There are a lot of posts about matchmaking and gen times to sift through to find information regarding either of the most common gripes.

It sure defeats the purpose of the ruin nerf. They stated ruin was too difficult for new players. You know what’s even more difficult for a new player? Going against red rank survivors as a rank 17 trapper......WITHOUT ruin. Lol. The matchmaking is so busted right now and they refuse to comment or address it in any way.

@Peanits Is there plans to change the rank system so all survivors wouldnt get red ranks too easily. Its like night and day difference between some red rank players if you look at their skills.

Looking into it is so vague, now I’m sure you can’t give specifics but you can see why that doesn’t make anyone feel too confident...
Also, the ruin nerf (which I agree with) and Doctor changes were under the guise of making it more fun for new players. Shouldn’t rank 17 against rank 1s be pretty high in the priority because that can’t be fun for new players.

This 100% they listen to a 30 second well worded question and make a short quip totally unrelated. Or tell us to try a different game, I actually have started Fell Seal so thank you for the suggestion

They are addressing the rank issues, by planning on hiding ranks from players. You can't know if the killer/survs you just stomped was new or just bad if you can't see their ranks. Problem solved. /s

That was the theory and the leak, I actually think they planned on making it a “bug,” that would never actually be fixed.
Then when the leak happened it would have looked too obvious if the bug happened so they had to pull the plug. Tin foil hat sure, but based on pst BHVR experience also very very likely and believable.

Hmm, have you heard of the new 'Legendary Survivor/Killer' bug where you get the achievement of 'Hitting rank 1' just for playing?
I like grinding and that achievement offered something to grind for. Sure rank does matter too much but it's nice to say that you made it but suddenly your badge goes out the window because now everyone's got it. I don't know if steam will even let you remove achievements for certain players but not others
