No voice chat?!?!
This game has been out this long and theres no voice chat?!?!?!? No wonder no one has heard of this game.
Do you even want a community? Who thought no voice chat on console was a good idea?!?!
You try to set this up as a survival CO-OP ONLINE game thats DEPENDENT on TEAMWORK but there's NO voice chat....GG
How are we even supposed to make friends on this game?
Or are we supposed to convince our current friends to download this??

NO! No voice chat!!!
PS: this game isn't "DEPENDENT" on "TEAMWORK" as you can totally play SOLO and still having a good game where you escape and/or pip.

I agree. We need a ingame voice chat. Like Hunt: Showdown has.
Then balance around it.1 -
well, I laughed harder than I should have

Consoles have their own Partys and Voice Systems. What else do you want?
Im on a PS4 and haven't heard anyone talk yet...
So every game, I have to click on the players profile, add them then invite them to party chat just to play this game with voice chat? That seems like such a flaw to have on an online CO-OP game....7 -
I hope this post is being ironic.

Please just search the forums for SWF and voice chat to see why this isn't implemented. It gives survivors an overwhelming huge advantage over the killer. You essentially know who the killer is immediately, know where he is, know if/where traps are placed, know who he is chasing, know when to unhook without having to use bond, empathy, dark sense, small game.. etc etc etc. It doesn't need to be pre-built into the system thus making those perks obsolete and making it that much harder for the killer.
If you want to chat with people create a SWF group and chat with them. While you're at it play some killer rounds versus good SWF groups and then reevaluate if voice coms are a good idea.

So they dont want us communicating because its advantage? Why not just improve the killers then? Nearly every game ive played so far no one repairs and they also dont even help people who are hooked... they just run, die, leave. Thats been my experience so far. This game would be better with voice chat...The devs need to be more creative to work around that little implementation.

When you rank up you won’t be with such potato’s.
Also having voice chat removes the elements of surprise and horror. Then we will also have survivors rating bomb the game if they buff killers at all because they need to use their brains and outplay a killer instead of the current state. And then you are just fully nerfing people who don’t want to voice chat and want to play solo. There’s also no in game text chat and it was done very purposefully.
why can’t you play the game the way the devs intended it?0 -
Imagine how OP Survivors would be if they had a form of voice chat, SWF would bully Killers the whole game /s

I definitely do not want a built in voice chat for this game, I barely play swf and when I do it is mostly with my friend from rl. However when I am playing with strangers it is quite annoying at times. Some people try to tell me what perks I should use, expect me to body block for them when I am way across the map and etc.2

The last thing we need in this game is voice chat.
SWF already has proven how broken VOIP is.If you would know anything about DbD you would understand how stupid your suggestion is.

If you want voice chat, Friday the 13th is that way, go play that ######### instead ------->
### your voice chat, this game doesn't need it.

Then balance around it.I also agree. SWF and solo survivor experiences are very unique and this game will never be balanced around both of them. If they over buff killers, SWF will still be fine but solo survivors will get crushed and if they don't buff killers enough, they will be able to beat solo survivors but fail miserably against SWF. Give survivors the ability to communicate and then make killers powerful enough to beat them.
In this way, survivor side will be more enjoyable and killers will not suffer as much as they do right now.

Exactly! Killers wouldn´t dodge SWF, since all survivors have voice chat. It would benefit everyone.
Devs could balance around voice chat without punishing solo survivors.2 -
I’d love for them to implement in system voice chat which has preset example you can hear a player say anything as long as they are a certain range close by. And the audio would go from quiet to louder as you get closer to them.
But then voice chat should be muted in general if not within a certain range. Also I think killers should be able to hear the voice chat as well. The catch is that anyone can mute their own sound but it’ll make it so you can’t hear anyone else now.
It’ll make it more realistic since everyone can hear anyone as long as they are in range, thus adding to the challenge and also adding new tools and tactics to work around.

This game's actually got a pretty strong community, all things considered. It has only grown since launch with many people playing hundreds if not thousands of hours.
Not having voice chat was an intentional design choice. If I recall correctly, it was even tested at one point early on. The general consensus was that it ruined the atmosphere of the game, turning really tense moments into "Wow I really wish this guy would mute his mic." It would kill the tense moments where the killer might find you because lil' Jimmy is yelling to his mom that he'll clean his room in five minutes, and that it's an online game and he can't pause it.
I'd be interested to see if they'd consider it now though. Things have certainly changed a lot since launch and I feel like most people heading into it now have already seen videos/streams of it, making it less of a spooky scary horror game and more of a game-game. I would say definitely have the option to disable it though, for those that still want an immersive experience.

Uh huh, that constant 5-digit number definitely is "no one"....thats DEPENDENT on TEAMWORK...
slams buzzer WRONG! Read the game's description.
How are we even supposed to make friends on this game?
Unless you've never made a friend, which would be kinda sad, i shouldn't have tell you how to make friends.

I co-op for co-op points. You don't pip for being a sandbag that sneaks into exit gates, that's for sure.Wouldn't mind a voice chat feature. As long as devs have the common sense to implement the ability to mute teammates, push to talk, silence-punishments, etc.If VC and group finder was implemented, we wouldn't need to deal with roundabout balancing like passive Kindred.0

I don't see the later one happening, since the voice chat is to much fun for swf survivors.0 -
I would never use voice chat. If not for the reason it is unfair, to hear all the salt from players.... Good grief, I cant think of anything more annoying. Either I play with my friends who I know (still not using chat, because we are too much of horror lovers to want to know everything) or I play solo, and do hell of a good job most of the time without feeling the need to report every step of the game.
If the game had been based on having voice chat, thats when I would stop. Because I really cant stand try hard people who never wants to play fair or fun giving you their constant opinion in your ear. Plus, if you dont see how unfair this would be, then I guess you never really played the game. It is a horror game, start playing as if it is.0 -
IF voice chat were to ever be implemented, i'd like the devs to be able to see how many people are muted and how many people have others muted.

F13 is the best example, how pathetic and pointless ingame voice can be when only 10 year olds constantly yelling or spamming those annoying vocalizers.

Either implement voice chat because everyone in a swf team uses it anyway or ban external voice chat programs to get the horror feeling back.I don't see the later one happening, since the voice chat is to much fun for swf survivors.
Banning voice chat is not possible. There's so many options out there, even some in your browser, that you can't possibly block them all. Not to mention Steam itself has voice chat built in, which is required to run the game. Even if you did manage to stop all of them, I could still grab my phone and talk to my friends over Discord like that.

Hunt: Showdown did this pretty well. You can play with strangers and others hear you too. So you reduce the talking to a minimum. It has a free weekend, if you want to try it0 -
Calm down dude. I was going to try to make a reasonable argument on why its not in and why its a bad idea. As there are many reasons to why it is a horrible idea. But...
"You try to set this up as a survival CO-OP ONLINE game that's DEPENDENT on TEAMWORK but there's NO voice chat....GG"
This simple line makes me believe you will deflect any reason unless its what you want to hear.
So my advice to you is to go play F13, Hunt Showdown, or PUBG if you want something like this so bad.
Either that or you can get over it and use an outside source VC like everyone else that wants to chat with their friends. I recommend Discord :chuffed:

The devs are in complete denial of what the game is.
They want to make a game where people dont have VC but then give SWF which can easily use discord for free.
They still pretend VC isnt overpowered when used right and dont balance around it0 -
Why do you think people want swf removed?
But the reason why there is no voice chat is because the devs didnt want you to know the intentions of other survivors if they liked you or not. it will also make you able to call out every moment of the killers exsistence which is to powerful for a 4 man team.

F13th isnt a great example everyone was complaining about trolls not long after release.
Voice chat only works in regions where everyone speaks the same language. Europe for one can have 4 people from different countries who can't communicate this was a major problem in F13th also. The userbase isn't large enough to seperate them out so it would not work.
Then there is the toxic trolls who are bad enough in end game chat imagine how they would act in game with voice chat!
You said there is no real reason well I just presented two explanations why it wouldn't work or would hurt the game more.

Another HOLY resurrect!

I prefer it no annoying kids, no music blaring, no shouting people irritated you wont save them asap that I'll have to mute anyways. Only the peaceful sound of a Nurse shriek and the Billy chainsaw in my ears.

Why the year old necros???
0 -
No, but theres a place for random questions that have been asked before. They recently added it.
It's just that necros from like 6 and 8 months ago are getting ..... old .
I'm not mad. Just keeps happening.

If you have to mute many people then it doesn't fix the issue.
Swf can also still use discord and mute the solo's.
It ruins the immersion for a lot of players who like the not knowing.
As I already said not every region speaks the same language.
How is it fixing the game if it creates alot more problems for the largest portion of the playerbase? Swf after all between 3 and 4 man only make up around 24%.

I don't get it why people still think that ingame voice chat would improve this game in any kind or way. The devs best decision ever was to not activate it.
