Survivors will DC on the new map to avoid Breakable walls... terrible idea BHVR
Can someone please tell me who thought it was a good idea to put such a fundamental change to ONE map (or map grouping.)
Survivors who want to keep their known infinite loops will just DC when they get the new map.

Then they get hit with the DC penalty. I see nothing wrong here.

Doesn't the new map usually get made more frequent when it's released/remade?
If they'll always DC from it, they'll get punished pretty hard for it.

Good points, I can't wait for the list of complaints that "I shouldn't be punished because NEWMAP is unfair"
7 -
Then they'll be enjoying that spicy 5-60 minute wait time.

people will just suicide on hook then I saw people do it when the doctor rework came out and people weren't playing doctor

They'll have to uninstall once it's on every map a year from now.

Meh, let them DC. If they're just DC'ing because it's a new mechanic they've got to learn again and they can't GG EZ anymore, then it shows their entitlement for winning. And, with the new killer arriving soon, there'll be more DC's because 'New killer OP, plz nerf' because, again, they won't want to learn again.

You haven't even seen the new map yet, so there's no way to tell what it'll be like to play on. But that aside, DC penalties have you covered. If they choose to DC on it every time it comes up (especially when the chance to get the map is increased), they'll be sitting out for days at a time.

Not to be that guy but will this map be thoroughly tested?
I remember sometime last year I would get stuck in the trees on sheltered woods/old badham a lot. It resulted in quite a few disconnects because I couldn't move at all and had no way out no matter what I tried.
None of us want a repeat of the last update with the basement bug.

I have high hopes the map will be fun to play on, I just won't wanna go hard on the survivors if it ends up 3-1 early due to someone being salty about not having crazy loops.
1 -
And they gonna eat ban right away. Btw do you really think that devs will make killer to kill every single loop with breaking walls? What about this, every loop on the map is ultra safe or infinite and maybe killer will need to brake a wall in order to make every loop normal instead of keep going...

Here I will be that guy. Who wants to bet when the killer breaks a wall while someone is in struggle on the hook the fps drops and they die.

I would be happy if they just gave the 1-2 trouble loops on certain maps a breakable wall to start with and go from there... that would probably be enough.
You know the buildings I'm talking about that are near infinite, require at least 3 long loops to catch the survivor and eat up sooo much time. I would rather waste 10 seconds from the get go and just remove that option.

Fine, let them DC, lol

lmao
I think you're right, especially for console players.

Survivors will disconnect when the killer decides to search lockers. Not every player is a cry baby. No-one apart from the negative IQ survivors will deem breakable walls a valid reason to quit. I say if they want to DC then good.

You know what would work wonders for this? Making it so you don't have to mash a ######### button for 60 seconds 😁
Like come on. If bhvr can take the time to add a completely new mechanic to the game like breakable walls then why can't they make a simple QoL change that people have been asking for years?

From what Peanits said in the other thread I get the feeling the new maps will have very strong window loops until you've broken walls. Maybe it will be killers disconnecting.

@brokedownpalace @ClickyClicky yeah but next will be the thread new survivors suicide on new map

Except for the part of the player base that wants to die on second hook, or die on first hook by doing the 3 escape attempts and then not struggling... they don't want that change :-(

I agree that people should wait and see what its like to play on before judgement and knocking it down, however, in regards to the dc penalties, people won't care about the penalties. yes they will be out of the game for a period of time but in that time they will be playing different games...slowly dbd will lose its player base. its already noticeable with the longer wait times in lobbies because people are giving up on the game or have been slapped with a penalty. the more time people aren't playing the game, the more it will hurt the game and it's only been a few days. you said it, "they will be sitting out for days at a time."
also i'm not sure if something has been done to the matchmaking yet or if its because there aren't as many people playing but since the dc penalties have come into play, red ranks are getting matched with rank 20's and those rank 20's are getting destroyed. it's not fun for the rank 20's and its disheartening...how long will they stick around for when they have games like that constantly. they aren't even getting a chance to learn the game.
my point is, yes you are right, DC penalties will have people covered but its also going to kill the game.

I mean on console we have a surplus of survivors and finding a lobby as killer takes no time at all, if anything this will help out the survivor waiting times since survivors are the ones who generally DC. idk how it is on PC but this might not even do anything since hook suicides are still a thing.

I'm on console too. I don't know too much about the killer side of things as I usually play survivor. i know that we only had 2 games in about 1 1/2 hours the other day though. they were fairly quick games. wait time has definitely increased since before the penalties. if you dc as a survivor you also can't play killer right? or is that wrong?
I guess time will tell.

Do you just have a thing against survivors. The main question was already answered this thread os already finished
1 -
If you have a penalty you can't queue up for anything. Had a match yesterday where the killer and I were booted while he was in the hook animation and I was working on a gen and I couldn't queue up for either again for the five minutes

I don't know. Aesthetically, I really love the new map and I haven't seen enough when watching streamers play the ptb to say that breakable walls are op.

If they DC to avoid not having as many god loops, they suck at the game. Plain and simple.
1 -
i havent even seen a killer break a wall tbh

Only babys DC.

People are talking about survivors just DCing but when the killer queues reach 30 minutes they'll be the ines complaining.
1 -
Nobody wants 30 minute lobbies. Thats not a survivor vs killer thing. Its universal.
I just dont understand the outcry against these DC penalties. DC's made the game worse for everybody except for the selfish people.
Also i dont see how DC penalties increase que times. In the time ive been playing, the last 6 months at purple/red ranks i dont think ive ever had a killer DC. But survivors drop left and right. If survivors get banned, that means less survivors trying to play so que times for them should go down.

As a survivor MAIN, I love the breakable walls! I wanna see them on every map, they make the experience so much more unique and it’s a new way to play; with the addition of loops being not nearly as secure as they were before.

I like the breakable walls as long as there are still some safe loops left. Just imagine Mirror Myers with rabbit + m&a on Lerys with breakable walls, really exciting and looking forward to this👍
