Disconnects on players
The Disconnects has been a Problem from day one of DBD, but that is not the REAL PROBLEM. The real problem is the CONFLICT that the Dead By Daylight Team have created in the game as the CREATORS to have power over the players who play DBD. Either as a survivor or the killer if either DISCONNECTS the Dead By Daylight Team can just punish those who Disconnect. Like Bully waiting to lay down blame and punishment. The sad part about the UNNECESSARY CONFLICT OF DISCONNECTS IS THAT THE DEAD BY DAYLIGHT TEAM HAVE THE POWER AS THE CREATORS TO JUST REMOVE THE FEATURE TO DISCONNECT. BUT LIKE A BULLY SOME PEOPLE LOVE CONFLICT AND POWER OF PUNISHMENT.
Same goes for the feature to be able to chat with the killer during the game, I have noticed in games that some of the players who die at the beginning of the game get mad then they Disconnect. Then the other survivors get found because the survivor who die at they beginning of the game was chatting with the Killer the rest of the game telling the killer were the other players are in the map. ONCE AGAIN UNNECESSARY CONFLICT WHEN ALL THE DEAD BY DAYLIGHT TEAM HAS TO DO IS REMOVE THE FEATURE TO TALK TO THE KILLER WHILE IN A MATCH.
BUT DO THE DEAD BY DAYLIGHT TEAM REALLY WANT TO STOP THE CONFLICT? IF THEY REMOVED THE FEATURE OF DISCONNECTS AND CHAT WITH KILLERS DURING A MATCH, HOW WOULD THEY PUNISH PLAYERS THEN...............

- You cannot remove the ability to disconnect. Even if the button is gone, there's nothing stopping someone from closing the game, shutting off their PC/console, or unplugging/shutting off their internet. The best you can do is add a deterrent for people who choose to do it willingly.
- If you (as the killer) do not want to see messages from the survivors after a match, you can choose to hide the chat. There's a little button next to the chat box that will hide it. It'll stay hidden until you choose to turn it back on. You are not forced to see any messages unless you want to. Also, if someone is saying terrible things in chat, we do enforce it and all you have to do is report them.

These suggestions are just downright...logical.

Can I safely suggest here without fear of backlash;
that other game companies have taken the approach of removing "post-game chat" because of player behavior?

It doesn't work like that at all it keeps re-opening for me; you also can't close it until you've gone into a game. I would much prefer they put it in the settings menu, this has been a commonly requested feature.
Haha one thing though I really wish it showed you had your chat hidden with an icon by your name, if only for selfish reasons. I know those people that want to just tell you to go ######### and all that seeing they can't harass you that way, would cause them to just stew in their own anger.
That would be more punishment than any temp bans or whatever BHVR does. It will never happen I know but a guy can dream.

Yeah, what it is supposed to do and what it actually does are two different things unfortunately.

I don't understand why disconnecting is being seen as problematic.
If a survivor is having a bad game, they can just hook suicide. Is that somehow better for game health? And if they can't, the game is likely being held hostage in some manor (or they could just do generators and win). If 3 survivors are on the ground slugged while a 4th is running the killer around, why should 3/5 players be forced to sit around and watch for however long it takes for the 4th survivor to be downed, and for the killer to then find and hook them as well?
If a killer is having a bad game, they have no such option to just die (death is not an escape... for killers. It definitely is for survivors), but could get into a new game faster by tabbing away from the game, and watching a 10 minute YouTube video instead of DCing. Is it somehow healthier for the game for survivors to have to Hold M1 for a few minutes than be able to just move on?
Disconnecting from a game is (for the most part, anyways) conceding that you've lost. Admittedly, there are a couple minor issues (DCing to give a player a chance at hatch, or DCing to deny points right before a hook/Mori) but these could easily be resolved by leaving an unmoving character husk in place of the player that DCd. Peanits once mentioned (in reference to back when a game would continue with 3 survivors and 4 gens to be done if someone disconnected while loading) that they'd rather just get into a new game rather than play one that's not going to be any fun. Why should a game that is already won for one side be any different? If the disconnect button where labelled "surrender" or "give up" I imagine we'd have much less issues.

Can I safely suggest that you simply hide the chat?

Just had my first “swf disconnects so the other can get the hatch” game.
Glad to see this new dc penalty system solved that problem!
Meanwhile people getting punished for server issues and game crashes/bugs

Most REAL players that don't won't there PlayStation to become not playable would not unplug there PlayStation I personally have never unplugged my PS4 while in any game, that is just an excuse not to fix and take out the Disconnect option. There is no reason not to fix it. We as Players are the reason Games Like this one existes. With out us all Games are just an idea, or short lived.

what about if a players dc´s. a bot will enter and play a survivor instead? On Mobile version they already did that, why wouldnt work it on Pc version? I mean sure, if the dc´d guy already hang 2 times, and was about to be hooked the third time, the moment he leaves the game, a bot should be at his place as wounded/healed/ whatever state the surv had before)...
is that a big deal?
