3.7.0 Anti aliasing
HELLO! Can someone help me to turn off anti aliasing in the new patch. I always play with it off and I don't know how to do so in this new patch. PLEASE HELP.

Yep. You can't put any commands on the Engine.ini file anymore. Nothing works as far as I know. They probably disabled it because people were using it to make the red stain go through walls.

Hello, my best solution is tu use the filter "Details" with nvidia game filter. I u dont have it, u can use sweetFX

Ohh so that's what made the redstains easier to see for survivors.
Thank god then, seen too many dbd youtubers using that and it obviously helps when it comes to loops.

It's been like that on console since the DeathSlinger update. I've only played a couple times after that update because it hurts my eyes... I hate it.

HamletEagle basically answered it, but it's to prevent malicious modification of the ini files to gain an advantage. Unfortunately that means that other harmless tweaks, like disabling anti aliasing, are also disabled. It's not just to spite the people who prefer playing without anti aliasing.

Then can we finally get some basic graphics settings in the settings? It's completely ridiculous for the game to only have what it currently has, let us have options, it's about time.

You could just implement a button in game that allows people to disable it. The fact that we even needed to go into the files to change Anti Aliasing in the first place is stupid

You know, I play on low settings to maintain a solid 60 fps. I prefer smooth gameplay over pretty graphics, always have. I occassionally dip to the 50s on Medium settings or higher. I guess I'll have to use higher settings to reduce the blur creating laggy gameplay, deal with the god awful blur on low settings, or purchase new computer parts. Great...

as others have stated, maybe give us the graphic options first before disabling engine.ini file

Are you there any plans to add an ingame option for disabling it then since you guys also agree that it's harmless? People have been asking for basic graphics options like this for years.

Anti-Aliasing smooths edges on objects. MSAA is the preferred method but can be expensive to render (performance cost). FXAA and TAA are cheaper methods but a lot of people, including myself, prefer not to use these methods of AA, as they are a filter that just smears vaseline over the screen. Probably less noticeable on higher settings, which is why PC users using Low quality settings suffer much more.

Uhhh... @Peanits No offense to you or your team, but there should've been a clear design choice before you did this. Remember last time the forums errupted because your team disabled anti-aliasing? Just add a menu, I would expect more from the people who develop this game.
Do we wanna play killer with a hard case of cataracts? No.
Can I play Nurse when I have cataracts? No.
Can I see a blending killer when I have cataracts? No.
Can I literally see my weapon when I have cataracts? I hardly can at all.
This is made worse by the fact there is no option to turn this off, or at least an option to change sharpening. My fps has dropped immensely in this game just because the cataract film is back, and I have a high-end RTX. It's also made worse with the poor design decision of using TAA when you SHOULD be using MSAA and giving us an option for how intense it is in a game where YOU NEED BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR SURROUNDINGS.

Also You are 100% wrong red stain still goes though the wall. So you fixed nothing. Now we are forced To have blurry graphics on high end pc's. This is awful. :*(

We need some advice. What programs can we use to turn off anti-aliasing until you fix it yourself? Without risk of being banned for this. Reshade? Sweetfx? Something else?

Just give us the option to turn it OFF , no one likes it , it is all blurry and hard to see

Some have said it can be disabled in nvidia control panel, but that doesn't work for me. And if I try to sharpen it using a filter, it crashes the engine.

It's Unplayable really , they blocked every way to change the .ini files so they blocked everyone with low end PC to play the game just because apparently it make the 'red stain' go trough wall , i changed my .ini files and it didnt do that , when you change the .ini files it made your game Look potato , you cannot see the red stain correctly , you can't see the blood correctly , and the scratchmarks are almost invinsible , i don't know why you made it a big deal , now you'll lose players cuz they can't play with good FPS.

It's not just the potato PC players, it also affects high-end PC players so don't worry. I'm guessing it's very poorly optimized for the engine, but not many have complained because people had it disabled.

Why in the holy hell are simple graphics settings, like disabling anti-aliasing, not available in the first place? This game has been out for almost 4 years. This is unacceptable. This blurry garbage is actually bad enough to force me to stop playing....

People have just to keep complain until they remove the AA and they allow us to modify some things in the .ini so bad pc can still play the game .

It's literally a boolean. Anti-aliasing: true or false. Put it in the options. There is literally no excuse for this.

Its sad that every update they have to screw something , i mean the changes were 'almost' good i mean gen rush is still a thing and a lot worse cuz people start spreading on gens and discordance is useless :) but now we can"t even play the game anymore for us bad pc players :d

You used to be able to manually change all settings in GameUserSettings.ini, but people would abuse the settings so they can see through objects. Ironic, since they could've just put in a video options tab that doesn't let you change the options that would break the game.

I mean I can understand the fov and resolutions being locked, because it can give an unfair advantage. I don't understand why vsynch and aa aren't options.

I'm sorry, but it's 2020. The lack of graphic options you have in the game settings is downright embarrassing for a game this old.

Anti aliasing is an edge smoothing tool. Slightly blurs the edge of textures to make them look less jagged. A lot of people prefer it off for a sharper image.

Forcing us to play with anti aliasing, and having no graphic options (making DBD one of the few games that you can't customize graphics) it's one of the most stupid decisions BHVR could do. And they're deleting people comments in the forum making good arguments about this just because they're not sucking their balls like other people or their Fog Whisperers do. Like always, they don't tolerate different opinions. And you can ban me too devs. Boring to have devs who doesn't tolerate people who disagree with you guys.
