Echoes of the past?
The new main buildings revert to their previous selves in you are far enough from them. Doorways turn into windows and textures change colors.

So how is comparing a buggy game to having flashbacks of being in the Vietnam war remotely acceptable?
"Oh no, my game looks funny"
And
"I cant sleep because noises remind me of watching my friends die as we fought a losing war for a country that hated us for it, and have mental issues or physical disabilities from it".
Are two DRASTICALLY different things.
Comparing game issues to being in a ######### war is distasteful and offensive to those who did serve, and belittles what they ACTUALLY go through.
But yeah, my game is broken, I guess I know what it's like to be in war. 🤷♀️

Chill dude, it was a joke which is commonly used on the internet.

Wow, people that can't take jokes are interesting. Clearly he meant nothing bad about it, and it's commonly used when seeing something you hated/disliked that you haven't seen in awhile.

As a USMC veteran, I gotta agree. I know he was probably trying to be funny, but many of us live with the PTSD of our time in service, and perhaps we should be careful of our analogies.

I'm so sorry. I did not know that people could get offended by this. I don't know much about The Vietnam War cuz I grew up in Russia and I didn't realize how terrible it might have been for those who actually fought in the war. Once again, I'm terribly sorry if I offended someone.

No problem my friend, thanks for your acknowledgment!

I just want to say that it is getting increasingly more and more difficult to speak publicly without offending someone. Something that bothers me may not bother you and such. I am in no way belittling the experiences of any soldier, whether they are drafted or enlisted voluntarily. In fact when i see someone in uniform or i see a veteran, i go out of my way to thalnk them for all they have done. I have more respect for them than i could ever possibly put down in words.
That being said, the term PTSD has become a common phrase in culture. It is used for many reasons for describing traumatic events, both serious and jokingly.
Like many things pop culture and just life in general has washed away the meaning and with it the overall serious effect it has on those who suffer from it.
Keep in mind that, in my opinion, the majority of people who use that term have zero desire to insult or mock. Not everything is a direct insult. Not everyone is trying to be an #########.
I do understand why you would get upset at the term being thrown around so callously. But sometimes it's better to step back and discuss without an all out attack.
Thank you for your service! I and my family appreciate it more than we can express. I too appreciate the level headed reply. You expressed your feelings without flaming the fire. I think the world would be so much more civil if we could forgive perceived attacks and respond in rational and courteous discourse.
Im off my soap box now. Carry on!

Your comment gave me Vietnam flashbacks

I'm sorry you felt it was necessary to apologize for making a joke.

Thank you, that is kind to say. I believe you are right, it's how we treat each other that really matters in life.
Not small disagreements, especially over someone's diction.

I served with the RAF as a wing commander. Got out a few years ago. Honestly, video games helped normalize me, and ground me to civilian life.
