Blinding is so hard!
When I try to blind a killer with a full flashlight and can't I just give up! It's so embarrassing I dont want to be in the match anymore.

Blinding is not really hard. Just blind at Pallets. This is not really that useful, because a good Killer will most likely be able to follow you (especially when injured), but it allows some easy blinds. Does not really work for Hag and Spirit tho.
Blinding while the Killer is walking is a bad idea. This will not work out, at all.

Blinding is one of the easiest things in the world. The blind area is so generous that the kiler doesn't even need to see the flashlight from their point of view to get blinded.
Infact its so easy, that even a fatigued Nurse, who looks down as much as physically possible, can still get blinded.

Obviously not easy, lol. Most of the time people leave flashlights in chests. 😧

The killer might be looking down. It looks as if they're looking straight at the flashlight but they're completely avoiding it. At pallets it's quite easy to blind a killer. It'll probably work more often than not now since the sounds are so broken. Hag and Spirit can't be blinded through the pallet break animation period so don't even bother trying it on them (there is a really small angle that you can blind a spirit but it's so precise and accurate that there's no point to even trying)

i've been bringing flashlights into matches i got from the blood web and just leaving them at the exit gates in case someone else wants them. im bad at aiming and timing so they're useless to me

I don't have any firecrackers. 😔 I'll get the challenge eventually. I've gotten 5 of 8 so far. But it's so embarrasing,lol. I fail like 90% of the time. I even tried a Ghostface at the pallet...sigh..

Why does blinding require you to learn some specific timing anyway? Every time I go to blind the killer, I do blind them - like equivalent of two times in fact but they still do not get stunned or in other cases, the flashlight just doesn't focus despite pointing right at the face.
Then when I'm playing as a killer, I can get completely blinded just while picking up somebody on my shoulder but I don't get stunned... what?

Blinding isn't hard but it takes some getting used to
First rule is to always blind while the killer is in animation. For exemple picking uo a survivor, vaulting a window, breaking a pallet etc. If they are not all the killer has to do is look down or up and they are completly immune
If you can try playing a KYF match with a friend and blinding at every pallet. After a couple of tries you'll never miss again

My beloved Dweet is bugged with flashlights at the moment. I had to do the blind the killer 8 times challenge using firecrackers.
Yes I know I could have used a different survivor but for me its Dweet or no one!

Blinds are one of the things I suck at. Aiming is hard enough on a controller and having nowhere to practice these kind of sucks.
Regular blinds I dôn't struggle that much with, but it's the flashlight saves I absolutely suck at and I don't have a clue what I'm doing wrong.

It depends on the killer you are facing. Killers like Nurse, Spirit or Pig have their camera at the head, while killers like Trapper, Wraith, Hag, have their camera on the thorax. You will learn the camera position by playing killer yourself from time to time. Its clearly visible during the intro scene when the camera zooms into the character.

OhTofu did a flashlight guide/tutorial, it’s on YouTube (just search “ohtofu flashlight”). It explains the timing pretty well, and timing is usually the problem people have with getting them - if you do it too early or too late the killer can avoid it.

When you try and aim the flashlight its bugs out so it only points to the floor.

It's impossible, if your blind. But if your not then you can practice and get pretty skilled at it.

Drop pallet, blind when they kick it. This serves as practice. Eventually youll be good enough to do it in the open when safe

It might not be your aim. Might be a silly question, but when are you trying to blind them? If you try to blind them as they're running towards you, chances are you're not going to be able to blind them. You can only blind someone if they're looking at you within a certain angle, so they could just turn sideways or look up or down to avoid the flashlight. Ideally you'll want to blind them when they're locked into something, like picking up a survivor, breaking a pallet, or vaulting a window.
If you are blinding them when they're locked into an action, you may want to keep an eye out for any obstacles. You can see over things like crates, but you hold the flashlight way down by your torso. If something's blocking the beam, it won't blind.
(I also wouldn't completely rule out Lightborn, but it's pretty rare.)

I'm terrible with flashlights. Anytime firecrackers are available I stock up. Unless killer is running Franklin's I always get a blind in with firecrackers. If I come across a flashlight in a match I drop it off to someone else because they will probably get more use out of it than I will. 😂

Is there a reason why the killer can be blinded far outside of their field of view? And why is is most killers don't have their camera positioned at their head to begin with? For example Hag has it put at something like her lower thorax, even though shes already the shortest killer.

I feel ya. I used a purple flashlight with super powered add ons and I couldn't get the blinding to work. It's downright embarrassing that I, a red ranked survivor, struggle so badly to get it to work that I just never bothered to learn it.
I feel so silly using flashlights but practicing with them is the only way I'll manage to ever get decent. I'll have to try aiming at the upper chest next time as some have suggested...

I also despise using flashlights since I can't aim for ######### on a controller. I just skipped the challenge altogether since I know I'll embarrass myself trying lmao.

- hag and spirit cant be blinded when breaking a pallet
- You can blind a killer when stunning them with a pallet
- You can blind killers as theyre breaking the pallets
- You can blind killers when they vault (much harder)
- In-order to flashlight save you need to know the timing, the best way to describe it is when the survivors ass just starts to pass the killers shoulder start blinding them.
- The flashlight aims roughly above the survivors right shoulder
- Every flashlight takes the same time to blind a killer, no matter the type or add-ons.
Youll know if youre doing it right as the flashlight will begin to focus in and become more of a beam, if this doesnt happen the killer is probably running lightborn. flashlights are cool and all but id say its the last thing you want to learn in the game so focus on everything else first

To get a stun on a killer picking up a survivor, the blind cannot occur while the killer is in the pickup animation. Same with pallet saves. The survivor has to time the blind/pallet to right as the killer regains control of the character, or else you'll get the points but not the stun. This is often what happens when you get blinded without dropping the survivor, the blind was just slightly too early.

once you learned the timing it gets easy. dont aim right at the head of the killer, aim under the head.

I find it wildly inconsistent. They'll get blinded immediately or never.
And as killer I've been getting blinded and not dropping the person I'm carrying.

This is what I did when I had to get blinds, blind after a stun I got 3 blinds at once for this. Might help to learn timing as well

Dude literally stood there and me and my purple flashlight on him I panned up and down and left and right. Eventually ran out of power. No blind. I got lucky with those 5 cause I havent gotten another since.
It sucks cause I refuse to play when this happens. Honestly I feel so embarrased and mortified I just walk away from the game until I hear I have been sacrificed and then come back. Sucks for my teammates.

OMG YOU guys I got another blind up to 6 of 8! As soon as I got it the bad internet icon came on the screen. I just wanted to hurry and die so my blind would count. Ugh my sweaty teammates did their best to keep me in the game(lol) icon was turning red I almost started crying..but I got it in the end!

Most common mistake people make not aiming before you click, if you click and then aim you will be all over the place and waste your flashlight , try blinding at pallets for practice unless its spirit or hag and you'll eventually get it

I did it! I threw a pallet that was by a generator in the hall of the school. So when Anna came to stop me she had to stop at the pallet to deal with it! I got my last needed blind!!!!3🌈🌈🌈🌈

Oh by the way. All the blinds were done by event flashlights. I wasn't able to blind with normal ones.

That doesn't make any sense, all flashlights work the same except for battery life between colors and the green one giving better accuracy , there is a bug right now with certain Male characters that makes your flashlight useless the whole match because anytime you click it will just point straight at the ground even if you're looking up in the sky

I ran Lightborn the other day vs 3 flashlights. LOTS of easy downs.

That means you were too early you have to wait until the survivor is about chest level about to be on the shoulder when you click

Lol I'll bet, I like to use fire up sometimes to throw off the timing and make them waste time thinking they can get it because I dont have lightborn on , it can become slug city really quick!
