Yet another cheater and no easy way to report
I encountered yet another cheater just now and no, I did not report him. Why? Because the current report system is a pain in the lower rear side of a human body. We should not have to go through such tedious report system where we first have to capture gameplay footage as evidence of the cheats happening and go outside the game to a website to fill out a form, no any decent modern competitive online game does that.
I will have to again use League of Legends as an example. There you just make the report and there are people paid to review those reports and look at the footage saved in a backlog to see if indeed the person was cheating. Quick and simple. And better yet, if they see that the person cheated, they will let the person know who reported that guy so that he can feel proud that his report made a difference.
And before anyone points out there is an ingame report system for cheaters, that is not a real report system, it still requires you to fill out the outside-game form to make it valid.

Just like they don't hire people to test their patches and use the ptb for free testers, they won't hire anyone to deal with cheaters or spend money upgrading their servers to record the match.
Can't upset their new investors after all.

Can you provide facts to back your statement? If that was true I really don't think DBD would be as popular as it is now. Plus last I checked devs just announced they are upgrading their servers tick rate from 30hz to 60hz
So I dont know how true of a statement you are trying to say, but please enlighten me.

Wrong on both points I'm afraid. We do have a team of ACM's that deal with the reports and actively ban players, if reports have been made.

Sadly this is the case.
When I used to report people, I realized it can literally take 30+ minutes of your time to get the required video evidence, dig up steamid64, go through the process, edit/chop/upload video that then gets rejected by the server, etc,... it takes time to report people.

Yeah, I too got rejected report by the server when I used to do the manual labor that is the current report system, part of the very reason why I no longer can take it. The biggest slap to the face is when you have done all the work and then suddenly the form does not get sent and you have to fill it up all over again.

Personally I never feel like reports do anything. I've sent in a few reports before with video links. YouTube tells you if someone views your video so I can see when they don't watch it.

maybe so, but the process of reporting a player is by all means the worst i have ever seen. Rarely do my youtube videos that i put in reports ever get seen, if so, its my own unique view. Literally, an invincible speed hacking player the killer couldn't down. So it honestly feels like to the part of the community that actually reports, nothing is being done and if anything not much at all.
There needs to be a feature that allows us to copy our ID from the game, unless you're like me and have enough legit reasons to report, have saved it to a notepad. Especially due to the flaw in the game that allowed another player to put bans on a streamer..

If you want to make a report as you know it is long & laborious, make it in Text file first. copy/paste descriptions in each fields & send video links & captures if you have it. Anyways, if reports could help dev's to fix DbD's gameplay problems, we would all already know it ;)

So if you are saying you hire people to test the patches before they are live how did pyramid heads hard tunneling mechanic make it through? Better yet did you guys think about it from the survivors pov.
