Can we push this post to the top for a while? This is too important to be ignored.

Not playing the game till it's fixed and that's that. It hurts to say

Bbq and chilli sucks now! Bring back the old auras!

I agree with this post 100%. Hopefully this becomes top priority.

im not even colorblind yet i can barely see auras on either side. they’re an eyesore on a majority of maps/in certain buildings
please revert the aura change, literally NOBODY asked for auras to be changed
0 -
Please revert these changes. Can barely see any auras.
First game I played with these changes and I thought the killer was running Knockout and Third Seal.
They were not. :/

I had the exact same experience on Midwich where I heard a survivor getting downed and I looked all around but literally couldn't see where they were. Figured the killer must have been using some perks. They weren't.

Agreed! I can't see anything as a Survivor or Killer. Survivor aura's blend in with some of the map's color palettes and unless you're watching the survivor icons, they'll be left to die. As killer the aura's are so light it's disorienting.

I wonder why a good running system must be touched anyway ? What’s the point ???

Too right brother

Can we please get some sort of official word here? This is literally a game breaker.

How does this have anything to do with this post though. The change in the auras has affected everyone regardless of what they play as, because they have changed for everyone, not only for the killers nor only for the survivors.

I’ve had eye surgery to help see better and it still didn’t help. Fix yo #########!

I've played a handful of matches now since the update went live, and I can confirm that at least on PS4 I can't see anything with the new auras. I always run BBQ with my killers so that I can have the extra blood points, but everytime I hook survivor I have never been able to make out one single survivor unless they happen to be running. Hell, it's hard enough making out generators. Especially on Ormond (seriously F that map!).

I agree that it might affect killers more than survivors (not every killer runs BBQ though, I've faced killers that don't even run aura perks BUT I agree that most do) but I'm referring to the people saying that since "it's a killer problem only it won't be fixed in a long time". It's not only a killers problem, there are survivors in this thread complaining that they can't see their hooked/slugged teammates' auras and thus can't come to the rescue.
It's not a competition on who is suffering more. If anything I'd rather the energy was brought into how this hurts colorblind people (be survivors or killers) more than anyone else, because an update with colorblind options is LONG due. I think this is the only online game that I have ever played that doesn't have a set of colorblind options.

My conspiracy theories:
"BBQ is just being used too much/overperforming, so let's nerf auras. Survivors only use these half the time anyway." (Less killer awareness, = more fun for survivor?)
"This game isn't scary enough, so let's make it all around more uncomfortable for everyone." You thought solo surv felt helpless at times before? Hold my beer.

Thank you for at least giving us some word. Hopefully this comes as a hotfix and we don't have to wait until next patch. I think this is pressing enough to warrant it.
3 -
Thank you for the update! It’s good to know that there’s something in the works.

Nice to hear both things. :D

Sorry if I sound rude but and those changes include the community with blindcolor because in all this time I have not avid response to these requests, I do not think anyone is looking for a large stain of purple or pink blood, that would be unfair if you do not have this disability, but the auras and scratch marks with a color change that is fair and does not break the balance of the game would be nice, I dare say that we are not looking for an advantage just a little help, I do not think if you have normal vision and can see auras whether they are red, yellow have a change if the time of a different color.

And what about the stuttering? Lot of ppl cant play the game and there is no update about it from you guys :(
1 -
First, I was responding to a particular comment. It was a response to what they said.
Second, the fact that it affects everyone is exactly the point I was making. I was pointing out there are those that think every single change was meant to nerf their favorite side even when it's obviously not, just like with the aura changes.
Third, if you think my comment was irrelevant how is it any more relevant to take the time to question it and then turn around and make the exact same point I was making?
1 -
Didn't you like, check how the changes would impact the auras before you pushed the update? Isn't that what the QA testers are supposed to do?

Dear people of the fog
We have listened to your feedback about the aura changes and we have taken it on board.
In the upcoming chapter we have new perks for both survivors and killers that makes aura reading much more powerful
Survivor perk: ESP
Level 1: Slightly increases the intensity of auras
Level 2: Moderately increases the intensity of auras
Level 3: Considerably increases the intensity of auras
Killer perk: Eyes on you
Every time you hook a survivor aura intensity is increased for 40/50/60 seconds
2 -
The "Eyes on you" is not very restricted enough! Kkkk

But why do the Devs ignore feedback from the PTB?
0 -
Wait, so the plans are to waste one of my perk slots just to have the game function correctly? That can’t be right.

They need to fix it. I agree.

The stuttering issue is known from the team. We've currently added a temporary fix while we work on a more permanent solution. We'll keep you posted, thanks for your patience.
2 -
thanks this need to be fix but on both side.

is this real?

Allow me to start by saying I am thrilled to hear that changes are being made and I really appreciate it. As I read this though it makes me scratch my head.
Seeing as the aura changes are mentioned in the patch notes they were obviously intentionally made. I get the part of the significant change to appearance may have been a byproduct and not the goal. However, there is no way it was not blatantly obvious to anyone even a little familiar with this game there was a significant change to appearance. I have talked to people that have a great deal of problem seeing the new auras as well as people that have no trouble whatsoever seeing the new auras. The one thing everyone of them agree on is auras significantly changed appearance.
I want to reiterate I am appreciative there is a fix coming. I'm really not trying to be snarky. It's just truly mind blowing to me. The new auras had to have been tested. I'm guessing they had to go through more than a couple stages of approval. It is simply unfathomable to me that no one along the way said "Making auras much smaller and a darker color might make it really hard for people with color vision issues, or even playing on smaller pc screens to see."

The particular post you quoted was my post but ok.

So you made a plea asking people to quit making this a killer vs survivor thing. I responded to you by saying there are people that will always see everything as a penalty to their side no matter what. I get my response wasn't 100% about the auras, but it was in response to what you said. I was pointing out how absurd it is that anyone thinks the aura change was meant as some sort of penalty for either side. While my comment may not have been 100% related to the new auras it was completely related to what you said about people making them a killer vs survivor thing.

are we speaking about days or weeks for the changes?

To be honest the whole "we never intended to significantly change the way auras look" thing kind of rubs me the wrong way...
Are we supposed to believe that nobody noticed this during testing? Or, perhaps, that these features aren't tested? I find either one kind of hard to believe.

MAYBE those "new" auras are part of the graphics update? but maybe they will work better when the WHOLE graphic update arrive.
0 -
Yeah I agree, I don't know how the new auras got through testing.
0 -
aura should of been tested more before releasing.
1 -
Sorry, from your original comment I understood that you were implying that this wasn't a killer AND survivor problem, thus bringing up how both sides sometimes act like everything about themselves. My bad.

I’m guessing no one likes the auras at all then? I kinda like them. Guess I’m the only one. I’m always the oddball.

I like how they look (or at least how I think they are supposed to look). I enjoy that they are almost a wireframe of the objects they're supposed to represent. The issue is they are not visible enough - and because they are such a crucial part of the game, that's a huge issue. A colorblind person will literally be able to see nothing.

I think it comes to believing that one knows more than many. Being in a sound bubble helps block outside noise.

I'm right there with you. With the state *every single DBD patch* releases in, it's hard to believe that this QA team even exists like they say it does. It almost seems like a bold faced lie. If the QA team DOES exist, how they aren't fired at this point is a mystery...and if they ARE reporting these issues and they just simply choose to push the update in that state, that's just an ethics issue all by itself.

That comment also rubs me the wrong way. "We never intended". Why didnt you test them thoroughly before implementing them into your game? Was it just a last minute "oh you know what would be cool" and then y'all coded it without ever loading into a lobby? Just revert your changes until you can have a version that is actually tested and proven to be a viable new system.

Yep; and you know what happens when people try to hold BHVR accountable? One of two things, either they get banned or the white knights come out.
