What is the forum policy on cursing is it that you have to do this **** or type the word while using a bit of ****

If you type a word like {BAD WORD} it'll appear like that.

If you censor yourself rather than letting the forum do it for you, you'll get a warning (as has happened to me) but at the same time if you type a swear word and the forum doesn't censor it for you, then you're also breaking forum rules. It's nonsensical, imo.

I typed in Shift earlier and it censored it lol I think it's a little off today

I just started to write bad word instead of whatever wanted to say.

You get a warn for evading the profanity filter yes, but if the censor doesn't work for some reason (as in the case above) we just edit without warning because no attempt to evade the filter was made.

Wait, so you will get a warn if you are "asterisking" (e.g. f**k) a bad word yourself, because you know that cussing isn't family friendly and don't want to come out as an ill-mannered person? Or by "evading the profanity filter" you mean only, like, changing the word in a way, so that it stays the same visually, but doesn't get detected by forum censor?

Writing something out partially censored (for this example, take the word sock. Were I to write sock and it doesn't get changed its fine but if I write s*** or s**k) it's classed as evading the profanity filter and you can be warned for it. Your best bet is to write the word out in full.

If you don't censor the entire word, it's classed as evading the profanity filter. What's so hard to understand about that rule?

The fact that mods have been known to warn people for fully censoring words on their own, claiming it's bypassing the filter. :)

Self censoring is exactly the same as evading the profanity filter - it's a way to get around our own filter, we choose to have this in this manner and someone self censoring to use * for example isn't appreciated or tolerated.

Profanity is rather poorly handled, though I don't think the mods can do anything about the filter. It removes words like [BAD WORD], [BAD WORD], and [BAD WORD], but if I use my dialect's spelling of arse, I don't get filtered and I might get in trouble even though everyone from NA is just repeatedly screaming another word for "donkey."
Edit: I had to censor myself because the profanity filter refused to prove my point and didn't censor me.

Cursing should be allowed on here. Dead by daylight is a mature game not intended for minors. I dont undastand why the forums for a game made for adults doesn't allow cursing but whatever. That's just my take.
