rift cosmetics for sale?
How do you feel about the rift cosmetics you've earned being buyable?
I earned nurse a year ago. through the god awful first tome. I mean, yeah i got a bunch of cosmetics for 10 bucks, but still kinda feel betrayed for working hard on something anyone can have now.

I think it's fine considering the earliest a rift cosmetic would be sold is 6 months after the rift's end.

I mean it's not like they are giving out Prestige and I'm pretty sure they themselves said the stuff would appear in the shop after the rift closes.
I don't really see the issue. Though for reference, I care not of cosmetics.

We communicated this from the very beginning, and said that it would be at least 6 months before they were able to be obtained by other means. It's now been a year, so I think the exclusivity of them for that length of time is perfectly acceptable.

well they would have to spend another $10 just for the one skin where we got around 5 skins for just $10
3 -
If you have put time and money in the rift than you get the skins cheaper and have them way before they can be purchased. So yes I feel that it's fair to eventually make them available to everyone.

Well, I just want opinions not arguments I realize it was "conveyed" I at least read that in the website post.
Thinking about other games I play, its like someone buying bastet ana in overwatch, when they never played the event.
idk.

I'd really like to get Yui's rift outfit but I wasn't playing the game when that rift was happening so I'm happy they're doing this though with too much of a time gap imo.
I don't see a problem with this. When you grind out the rift you get a good amount of cosmetics and your $10 worth of auric cells back. There's a lot of people that don't have the time to grind out the rift or have something come up and are unable to put the ridiculous amount of time into the grind.

Since it was originally stated that this would happen i feel the word betrayed is not warranted in the post and I think them doing this is fine since again its what was always intended.
Imo it would be worse if they decided not to release them.

I agree with Twistedmonkey and MandyTalk over there, we already knew this would happen well in advance.
Not to mention, there are some absolutely fantastic cosmetics that came through in the rift: premium or free track that would be a real shame if future players just never got access to it. A massive amount of cosmetics have been added to the game purely because of the rift's existence, and if people were angry about a few exclusives from cons and different events before, there would be much more to be angry about if the devs held back access to the rift's rewards forever.

You can't feel betrayed just because you didn't read the fine print.
2 -
Wait are they buyable now ? For how much do they sell it?
I got them all anyway but i really would like to know
1 -
I agree. They should be exclusive otherwise it just devalues the rift.
What is the point in putting in all those hours to get Tier 70 if you can just buy the rewards later on anyway.
It removes the actual reward of being able to say "look, I completed rift X".
I mean look at the devs reasoning for not restoring legacy skins to people who lost them... why is that same reasoning not applicable to the rifts?
1 -
Fine with it. It was known from the beginning.
Also I dont think that the first Tome was bad, it was the most interesting one. The Challenges were at least somewhat challenging.
1 -
Not all of them and it depends on the rarity. The only one we know to be appearing is the Nurse's Blighted Nightingale (I'm unsure if that's the actual name of it). It's of event rarity and so will be 1080 cells, the same as a very rare skin. Regular rares and uncommon will be the standard prices of other outfits too, I believe.
1 -
I'm pretty sure you can just buy yourself up to level 70 anyway without even playing.
3 -
I like the cycle system they have going sooo... I have no complaints at all.
2 -
True. Although expensive.
But even then, you still have to have been playing the game during the rift.

Will they only be aviable for cells or also for shards?
1 -
Yeah, not the route I'd go down even if I could afford it

Maybe I don't remember but I thought it was all in flux. Like they weren't sure if and when they were going to return some items, and I didn't understand that every single item would be made available again that it was going to be some possibly returning to the store. If the only thing exclusive about the rift are the charms, then there's not much of a motivator to bother doing them imo.
1 -
We don't know, presumably cell exclusive. Definitely for Event rarity skins like the Nurse's one.

I agree, and I understand both sides. I just think that some items should remain forever exclusive, they should be items that symbolize someone participating in a very specific event during a very specific time. I don't think everything needs to be available to everyone.
1 -
You need to read more.
1 -
The Charms will likely stay exclusive.

I do not see any problem with this. People here complain too much.
1 -
Yeah the charms will stay forever exclusives I'm sure, but most people don't care about them anyway. I meant as far as cosmetics. Maybe the free track will remain exclusive since everyone had access to that. I think it would just be nice to gain Clarity and transparency on the subject, and just list the items that are going to return and the ones that will be exclusive. That way people can make informed decisions about how they want to approach rather than the ambiguity of, is this item going to come back in a few months? Is it worth grinding for skin that I could just buy? Personally I'm driven more by exclusive and unique content, and without that I don't have much of an incentive to bother sinking so much time in The Rift when the items are going to be made available later.

The devs likey don't even know what they want to bring back. All the lore outfits will definitely come back. We'll just have to wait and see for the others.

The Devs only apply this logic to legacy, they gave the code exklusives like streetwear meg and the event outfits from the first moonlight Event and the summer bbq event to every player for free.
They also said that they do not want to continue doing exklusives.

You knew when you invested that time and money into getting the skin from the Rift that it would become available in the Store eventually. If the Rift cosmetics had originally been marketed as exclusive to that event with no mention of future availability, then I could understand feeling betrayed, because you would have essentially invested in them on false pretenses. But while that has been a valid concern in some past situations (won't derail the thread by doing too far down that rabbit hole), I don't think it applies in this case.

This is what i want to know, and will we be rewarded for efforts via cells/shards for obtaining them
0 -
I feel like I'm not going to buy them again because I already have them. 🙃

I whole heartedly agree with what this person has said... can we make informed decisions. even "whisperers" have been misinformed about this. imo. I'm not just stupid and don't read. neither do affiliates. stop judging me for not putting in the work. fyi i have never bought rifts. I've earned them...

I would love to see the original post of this... but a certain steamer of mine sold me on the idea of earning something unique. many other games do the same. I think we deserve clarity. thats all.

This print is not fine :D

About topic. I don't see a problem. Price of 1 outfit after closing Rift > price of whole Rift with a few outfits. And I don't care about exclusivity.
4 -
I was under the impression that the items would remain exclusive. Looking at the above promotion, does anyone not come to the conclusion that those three skins would be exclusive? Like I said we need some definitive clarity on what's going on with this. And they need to label the rewards going forward that will return so people can make informed decisions. Fortnite and many other games have forever exclusive rewards and their battle pass! So why can't Dead by Daylight?
2 -
i doubt it

I was wondering about it this week and decided that I will not buy any more rifts bc most of the skins suck and if I want one I can just wait 6 months and buy it. I bought every rift since the start but I really think since there they are too bad, but at least before I trusted BHVR, now I don't trust them anymore. So, I will just play and do the archives, if they do things right, I can think of spend my money. Until then, I'm ok spending it anywhere else.

I would also like more clarity about this -- for the opposite reason as most people. I was under the impression that pretty much everything would eventually show up in the store, maybe around 6 months later, so I didn't really bother with the rifts for a while.
Based on the way they've answered questions about this in the past, it sounds to me like they don't actually have a plan for what's going to show up in the store or when -- they're just sort of reserving the right to put stuff there if they want to. Which is kind of annoying as a customer, because you don't know what bargain you're actually making when you decide whether or not to buy something.

They've always said "most items will return to the store" not all. So most of us assumed it would be the charms that aren't going to return. I think most of us know the full outfits will likely return.
