We believed that the previous name for this particular weapon might be upsetting or otherwise harmful to some of our playerbase and made the decision to change the name.

You should probably get rid of hooks in the game and hanging people then. Replace them with a hole in the ground or something. Or hats labeled with entity in them.

Why couldn't the name be made appropriate in the first place? I can't believe that through the whole development and a few weeks after release the name was fine, but then suddenly "oh #########, somebody might get upset about an edgy name of a knife".

Old name was simply better.
It's the same story with cruel confinement. It simply sounded better than cruel limits

To be fair Joey wasn't trying to kill himself or anything during the transformation, it just says he was trying to cut himself free. Either way its a cool skin ;)

Please try to be respectful and don't make fun of those who might get upset from things like that, not everyone has the same sensitivity and we all react to things differently, depending on our own experience.

I guess at that point it would be equal to killing himself. I wonder how exactly did the serum do this, I don't think it made main body grow tentacles to draw other members to it.

What censorship? The devs made a decision to change their product. Just because you disagree with the change doesn't mean it's censorship.

No, censorship is not what you think it is in this case. The blade was changed after concern was raised about the name possibly triggering people.
Censorship is to suppress information, speech, etc. Nothing is being suppressed - the devs made the decision to change the name of their product.

Last time i checked this is survival horror game where people get brutally murdered just to entertain the Entity.
We cannot even joke about an item name being changed?

Okay, it does seem like people can't be respectful in this manner. There were now several comments about it and it just seems to keep reverting to the same kind of comments.
Remain respectful and do not try to joke about serious topics. It was decided to change the name for the better after careful consideration that it could possibly be harmful and upsetting for many people.
