24 games after break, findings.

Call it a rant, will be tl;dr at the bottom if it gets too long.

I'll ignore bugs despite there being at least 1 big one each game [including getting me stuck or ending without killer power or ability to hold m1 on survivor]

So what have i found in my 24 games since i returned from a break? Not fun and a community that i am confident to call the most toxic one that there is. I used to intentionally ######### over league ranked, am active in a community of elitists when it comes to shooters and even dipped my toes in fortnite forums yet i've never seen a more divided, degenerate and disgusting community. It doesn't bother me but it gets old real quick to see a variation of 'kermit sewer slide', some slurs or 'noob [redacted for your safety]' just because i play killer or survivor with a weird build. [On a side note, all this lovely talk comes from survivors, the worst i had of a killer so far is "get ######### noobs"]

Then let me talk about ingame. Survivor is boring, i prefered being tunneled because that allowed me to have the best part of survivor without having to do the boring parts. Killer on the other hand is just annoying, two of my games i had people with macro flashlights and bright skins chase after me when i found someone else, while yes, these people wont escape, i dont feel like a killer but more like the bullied kid at the playground who beats up the bullies and then gets scolded by the teacher.

But hey, at the very least i can report them for having the compulsive wordchoice of a sailor that got his nuts chewed of by a rat without teeth... Except no, ingame reporting does so little that simply not using it is a better outcome as you waste less time on the toxic side. If you want to report you need to make a recording of the chat, go to the website and submit it... Only to read 24 hours later "we've read your ticket, we will look into it" as if i didn't just send them a chat log that makes even the kkk go "now that's a bit much." Half the ######### time.

Tl;dr Game itself aint fun or rewarding, community so toxic and reporting so useless it angers me.

People take this game too seriously and it's actually pathetic. If I play the game different to how someone expects me to then I get blamed for it. If this game isn't for you, then accept it. Maybe derank for easier games? I'm assuming by the level of toxicity you're receiving that you're a red rank player.

Ähm, no? We live in a society, and are part of that games community. I think its the right move to call such behaviour out and try to change it.

And while i agree with you a little about the Thick skin (born in January 1974 myself ^^), i belive that ignoring such problems just make them worse (as we currently see in many parts of the world). Because even in a game a tone can be established that then takes their part in the real life.

To adress the topic: The problem is that too many players play only one side of the game. They tend to forget that the opposition is their fellow gamer, and not an enemy they need to overcome. Just be respectful yourself, and call out bad behaviour (even if not directed at you). Their mother havn´t taught them manners, so the community have to call out that behaviour.

Turn off chat, my dude. The community is like 80% less toxic if you don't talk with them or read their messages.

Doesn't matter. As a killer since crossplay, i never made it out of yellow rank. Play maybe 2 games a day at most, usually survivor.

Tried killer was rank 17. Played as twins, first time since hot fix amd maybe 4th time total. Went against a rank 3, 5, 6, and 17. I managed to kill the one at my level. The other 3 just kept crouch spamming at every window and pallet.

Rank doesnt matter for matchmaking. Survivor que times are almost 5 minutes so they are getting pushed into any killer available.

Yeah, it all went a bit wrong when they added their stupid 'mmr system' which is just broken.

For this kind of threads, is why they continue, you're just feeding the trolls.

It takes nothing to ignore and not mind them, they would eventually have stopped long long ago if people didnt feed them so much.

I want to point out a couple of things about what you said in regards of reports:

    • Reporting for abusive language only needs in-game reporting, there is no need to open a ticket for that, they can check the chat log and act on that
    • I reported many people myself using the Support website and the email you received is the standard answer they give and they act on the reports, but keep in mind that you won't see temporary bans on the player's profile

Simply saying "the report system doesn't work so I don't use it" is not helpful, please report when stuff like this happens and please follow the correct procedure that can be found in this thread:

And yes, some reports do require video evidence, since simply saying "player X hacked during my game" is not enough proof, and yes, I would love too an in-game replay system for evidence sake, it would be great, but for now this is the way to do it.

Ignoring would mean to pretend it never happens, not feeding into something means not freaking out everytime someone says something you don't approve of.

What you don't understand is the whole "calling out" you do nine times out of ten is what the person is looking for. It's funny to them. There is a game people play where the whole goal is to see how soft of a statement they can make and still trigger a "kill all PC acceptable targets" rant. They know that if they just type three little letters you might make them internet famous for 15 minutes. Long enough to really boost their self esteem with however many people they upset with three keystrokes.

The idea isn't to just pretend it never happened. Its to teach patience, strength of mind, and the understanding that to eliminate the bulk of such behviour you must stop validating it, and modern call out culture validates it for most people. Why do you think trolls flock to any PC social media, especially if you're all pissed about something. If being called out was negative they'd avoid it. Instead they try and be as visible to you as possible.

They want to drag you to their level, to prove to themselves you aren't any better, and you make it far to easy for them.
