How to report usernames without knowing platform?
Like above - if the player has an offensive username and i want to report but cant see what platform they are on, what am i to do???

Usernames are set on the platform they play on so generally come under those rules and not the game ones in the past.
Interesting question and it would be nice to know if the devs/mods will then report it to the specific platform if you use the end game system or reach out to the player.

I've had the same problem when reporting hackers who are on PC because I have no way of going to their steam profile

You don't need to since it's not a vac ban, you can report them like someone from another console

Listen, im right there with you for the most part. AssHat McGee probably shouldn't be reported, but there is a line that is crossed sometimes.
There's funny/edgy/weird user names and then there's usernames that only exist to upset or get under people's skins as many people as possible.
Also, you have no idea what the user name was OP wants to report. Instead you just assume it was over nothing and insult them anyway. You seem nice.

Quick answer, no we do not have control over usernames used on platforms such as Steam or Consoles and we do not have the means to pass on tickets to those platforms either.
It's very difficult to report names on a cross platform basis, unless you can find their steam profile you can't report to Steam for example, also bear in mind that different platforms have different name rules so whilst a name might be undesired on the platform you play on, it will be fine on another platform.
