No Autoban for hatespeech?
So coming from league there's certain trigger words that trigger automatic bans if reported like #########, family dies etc.
Why does this game not have such a thing? The abuse you get hurled at here deeply concerns me and is especially hurtful during times of covid when family members are in actual danger of dying.
According to their steamprofile that person is hurling such abuse for months
Edit: No idea how to post pictures here :|

Good news
This is arriving in the next chapter patch, 4.6.0, which is currently on the PTB

I kinda can understand the killer's frustration, after all you brought a map offering for the most survivor sided map in the entire game.

Wishing death on someone's family because they brought a Game map is a bit much. You know, just a tiny bit.

1) Apparently it's pretty difficult to circumvent it.
2) If you report the person in-game for harassment. There's no required support ticket for this, as it saves the chatlogs of the game, and the person reported will recieve a temporary ban, scaling up to a permanent one.
1 -
There should be. That doesn't even need to be reported. If they can setup a filter that censors hate speech in the post game chat, they can also set it to do a Ban. It can get progressively longer just like the DC ones.

Being frustrated and wishing death on someone’s family are not the same.

I agree to some extent, but someone saying "I hope your family contracts cancer and you all ######### die" or "Go ######### you worthless #########" shouldn't be tolerated in any cases. In these cases, it's not people being too sensitive, it's the person saying it being a ######### and they must be dealt with accordingly.
Also, BHVR's in-game rules state that harassment & chat abuse isn't tolerated.

Happens to me all the time, their favorite way of cursing my family is to wish corona upon them.

Sorry that actions should have consequences, the internet is not a western anymore, this isn't 2001.

Idk. While yes people who say these kind of things should be banned I'm not really keen on automatic ban systems.
I know a guy that got banned from a dating app while talking about chess cause they mentioned black and white pieces over and over.
He should have seen it coming after saying white is superior but still.

A take colder than Ormond

Same thing happened to me in league, I said I'll suicide so you guys can win (5 enemies chasing me and I kept their attention by sometimes giving them the chance to catch up while my team backdoored), boom 14 day ban but support resolved it to essentially a 3 day ban (not a ban but support took 3 days to resolve the issue)

The language is out of order but since all words will now just be generic hashtags from next update its not really needed anymore.
The fact that one side keeps using that map offering though and its causing such frustration for the other side really shows how bad the map is and how much of a failure the rework was. I'm sure they'll adjust a pallet or two....eventually....in a few years.

It’s not so much “getting offended” but I’m sure most people would simply like to be able to play a game with out immature verbal abuse cause they can’t handle not winning for two seconds.
rediculous

Just don't read chat... Simple

We will shortly have the Chat Filter, which many people saw in action on the PTB and contrary to popular belief it's not easy to circumvent in the slightest - believe me, I tried :) (purely for testing purposes!).
Also you can report people for hate speech, these reports are taken seriously and are actioned. You will also still be able to report people for hate speech when the Chat Filter is implemented on Live, if you suspect what they say. These chat logs will be looked at.

"Purely for testing purposes."
Sure, Mandy. Suuuuuure.
We're onto you.

@GoodBoyKaru you know too much!

Whatever happened to sticks and stones? It's really not that big of a deal, some dude you don't know who doesn't know you said something to be a dick. Shrug it off and move on? The only consequences from his poor wishes are you get a little sad that someone was rude to you.
The sooner you shrug it off the less it matters.

What happened to sticks and stones is we recognised that the phrase is flawed and mental health matters.
3 -
I get it but, there just words from some dork on the internet that's just a loser they can hurt you unless you let them.
Ignore their stupid nonsense

I watched someone tell people to kill themselves dozens of times among other hate filled things, I've reported him myself even, and he is no longer allowed to play with us- however he has never been banned even once.
So I am skeptical about there being much effort going into dealing with these kinds of things.
1 -
there's no reason that the n-word and telling people to k*ll themselves shouldn't trigger an auto ban with the new system. shouldn't have to go out of your way to report it.

Also where's the option to report people pre-game? People can still throw out slurs pregame and leave and not be punished for it.
I don't get easily offended but if someone wants to identify themselves as trash by tossing out slurs so freely they should probably be dealt with. You don't just leave trash in the house that needs to be thrown out do you? Same concept.
Basically just rip the bandaid off and if they want to cry on the forums that they were punished because they don't have self control that's their problem.

To be fair, it would have to be very specific otherwise someone might be like "Why don't you ######### on hook next time so I can get hatch?"
(Your agreement with that statement is irrelevant it's just an example) Anyways boom that person has been banned.
Meanwhile people would just use special characters, segment the words, etc...to still say them without getting banned. So it probably wouldn't work very well.
Also, you don't have to go too far out of your way to report, it takes like 15 seconds to do. The problem is it feels like you have to take the loooooong report method to ever even have that report looked at via opening a ticket.

well yeah obviously it would have to be specific lol. maybe the killing yourself wouldn't be an autoban but the n-word and other hate speech should auto ban. there's no reason not to.
yeah it feels like they say all the time that they look at all of the reports blah blah blah but i've run into people i've reported for serious things many times. also...just look at that ghostface hacker guy that literally streams while he's hacking and makes account after account. are they really doing all they can do? doesn't seem like it to me.
i've always wanted them to implement something that overwatch has. when you log in it will give you a little pop up notification informing you that they took action against someone and thank you for reporting. it's never specific of course, but it feels good knowing a report actually DID something.

Again, why would I if I can punish them. Are we okay with mediocrity and ######### situations now?
