Players using individual pieces of linked cosmetics
I just seent a Steve wearing Steve's head and pants, but Jonathan Byers' black jacket. That jacket is part of the linked legendary set.
How do I report them for cheating and manipulating the game files?

they are not "manipulating the game files", they are using the cosmetic glitch. Also, this is completely harmless. Why do you want to report them?

Why would you report, lmao? I mean, honestly, who cares? It's a glitch in the game that's been around for a while. He's just using the cosmetics that he paid for how he wants to.

For one, not cheating, it's a glitch.
Secondly... Why the hell would you report him? I see players doing this literally all the time.

How in the world have you been playing DBD for this long and never noticed the cosmetic glitch before?
Also, terrible reason to report. BHVR's already stated they don't consider the cosmetic glitch a bannable offense.

God I bet you're really fun at parties

This is not something that needs to be reported as we do not ban for "glitching" cosmetics.

OP's just jealous that Steve rocks the jacket better than Jonathan does.

Someone mentioned a cosmetic glitch of some kind yesterday and the thread was almost instantly deleted. Maybe it's because I don't understand what it means and asked about it? I don't know.

We will delete threads that mention how to do the glitch as naturally it's not something that we wish to promote on our forums, and it can lead to a warning for the user who does it as well.

Hes a stiff nerd thats why!

This content has been removed.

But why? Because although it's unintended( or so we're told) it has no effect on gameplay, meaning that it shouldn't be bannable. Last time I checked, the only bannable things were things that had an effect on gameplay, or hacked legacy.

Honestly, I get it. It's not game killing, but it still goes against the amount work the devs but on designing the survivors.
Plus, I don't want to start seeing somebody like Leon or Ash wear somebody else's clothes. That's just crapping on the lore of the characters.

Maybe this user was just trying to do the right thing and curb what he understood to be hacking? Hell, I'd never heard of a "cosmetic glitch" until yesterday and might also have assumed that it would involve the modding of files. I mean the fact alone that discussing how to do it is (understandably) discouraged, but actually doing it in-game isn't bannable, demonstrates that it's kind of a gray area.
I understand that at first glance it's like "wow, what a lame narc", etc., but the guy's heart was probably in the right place.

True, I suppose.

Lore doesn't mean anything. It's controversial at best. Anyways, sets shouldn't be in the game in the first place, with the exception of Konami forcing them to make them. They shouldn't have ever kept them.

Sets are fine for Legendary cosmetics, and other outfits that would look silly if they were unlinked (such as Robbie Rabbit Legion and Nea's graffiti artist hoodie).

So what? That's still that person's choice, and other sets look good mixed. They shouldn't be a thing. Mix and match is the best part of cosmetics.

Then purchase the cosmetics that are designed to be mix and matched.
The idea of sets lets BHVR's character design artists have more freedom in creating more complex outfits, as they don't have to work around the restriction of having to ensure the cosmetics can be neatly split into three pieces. This lets more involved outfits exist, such as long dresses (like Kate and Jane have), hoodies and onesies.
Sets are a necessity for some outfits. Otherwise you'd end up with ridiculousness like this.

That's fine. Just because it looks silly or odd doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to wear it.
Not to mention that those outfits are ridiculous without being mixed.
