If only it was possible, I would love to go back and experience it! But hey, I started during Winter Solstice back in 2018. That was also a good event.

Well we know they copied and paste the cakes at least right? Oh wait they copied to original ones that don't work instead of the ones they fixed a week after oops. Also as fun as it sounds to hook and hear sizzling or to see drinks poured when doing gens events like those just are so unrewarding. They give what 1000 -3000 extra a game more then I had I guess sure but that's why cakes all I care about because I ain't seen anything better. Everything else is just a paper weight compared to them to please just fix them please.

So much dedication, so much so that maybe the devs deserve to have a vacation. Since it's such strenuous work.

Id be more impressed if the crowns gave a unique feature maybe sprinkle the head with some legacy blood or have the crowns break when the killer hits you and you receive temporary legacy on your outfit. Something to stand out but this is just lazy. Ive been turned off from this game might not even play anniversary tbh. They can't even put on Christmas lights for lockers for winter. Just pure laziness.

You're right, we're not entitled to new content.
It's when the devs specifically say they are going to focus their work with not having other events, but take more time and effort on the 2 important events (Anniversary and Halloween) that entitles us to a better Anniversary or Halloween event.
And so far, this looks like less effort than the last event. This event may have more than last years, but that's just because a lot from Last Years was being lazily brought over, it has more content this year but not a lot of effort.

They did promise after the abysmal halloween event and the lacklustre winter event that they’d focus on making events better.
I mean the past chapters have all had considerable issues. Optimisation is at its worst of all time. And then we get like 3 new charms and 2 new outfits that are the default outfits with gold lines on.
And the entity crowns. Don’t get me started on them. I’ve worn them like 3 times cause they look god awful. Yet they’ve made more of them! With 3 new lines. Even though it’s the 5th anniversary?
Yeah they don’t owe us anything. But they did promise us something better. And it doesn’t seem like we’re getting better. Seems like we’re getting mediocrity. Again.

Really hate the people that say "you're not entitled to content and updates."
Tf is the point of having a game then? DBD is a live service, it is fundamentally built around regular updates and content.

I uderstand people missing the pustula flowers and the lanterns but summer bbq and howling grounds?
Aside the generators and hooks those events didn't change anything and the rewards were 2 recolors. I'm not defending this event bc it's also kinda boring but at least there's more rewards and there's a side objective in trial.

Exactly. That's what I'm trying to get at here.
The Dev's could have easily left this game as it was a long while ago and called it a 'finished product'.
No updates, no events, nothing.
Sure, they wouldn't have been able to have monetise it the game as much, (or gain access to more liscenses) but they would have another game title under their belt and had the time to move over to other projects.
Instead they've chosen to sink more time and effort into this game. If it's purely for monetisation or keeping their game alive, is for another discussion.
But not all games get free events and updates and not every game stays at a reasonable popularity after five whole years.
Regardless of the reason, this game is still alive.
So even if we do get an apparently 'dog #########' anniversary event, just be lucky we actually have one in the first place.
I for one, will definitely still be taking part.

There's been a lot of misconception flying around the last few days, which I'm now able to address:
The Anniversary Cakes WILL STACK - the more players that offer them, the more delicious (and much needed) BP can be gained.
There's also a secret Personal effect to the offerings - but that one you're going to have to find out for yourselves during the event which starts on the 30th June!

The "backlash" came from a supposed leak which, even if true, proved nothing because nothing has been released.

The crown is hilarious as its pretty much the same as last time 🤣
What sucks most of all is that this is the half a decade MILESTONE, its the biggest one next to 10 years.

Well it isn't outlandish to think that history might repeat itself. Issues can arise, we can be glad if everything does work as intended. The statements of BHVR were a relief for sure.
