Overcharge Working as Intended?
I already submitted a bug report, but maybe I'm not the only one that's seen this so I'll mention it here. If the killer has overcharge and you just tap it and run away you'll get the skill check even while you're beelining it to safety. If you miss it I'm not sure if it'll still blow up, but I know that it "consumes" the perk because you can go right back to the gen and work on it normally.
Has anyone else come across this, or is this some ancient hidden tech that I've never known about until now for some reason?

This has been in the game for as long as I can remember. Yes, if you miss the skillcheck it still blows up the gen.

No I meant when you run from the generator as Overcharge gives you the skill check you don't fail the skill check, you retain the circle even as you're running from it. That's what I was curious about.

And like I said- this has been in the game for as long as I can remember. Overcharge has always functioned different to normal checks, and if there ever was a point it hasn't it was pre-November 2017 because that's when I started.
And I then answered the other part:
If you miss it I'm not sure if it'll still blow up, but I know that it "consumes" the perk because you can go right back to the gen and work on it normally.
Yes, if you miss the skill check, it still will blow up the generator.

Huh. Alright thanks.

Either you get that chance or it just blows up. Better to have the chance.

To be honest it never really occurred to me this could be a bug, I always thought it was a feature lol. Though yeah it does seem like if you let go it should just blow up the generator and not continue the skill check. Though I love tapping it running away and then hitting it as I am running away, it is so satisfying.

It is, and I thought I was being a little ######### while doing it. Didn't know this was always part of it haha Still learning new stuff

It's not a bug, this is intended with the perk. It's the way to stop a simple gen tap - so as soon as the gen is touched, even if you let go, you get the small skill check.

I still think it would be better to have those random skillchecks work like that instead of blowing up the gen even though when I let go there was no sound.
For Overcharge this might be intended behavior but to avoid the gen tap it should actually just blow up if you tap it. The killer uses a perk slot for this perk and it’s already pretty weak. No need to give the survs a further chance to tap..
