Windows 11 stereo sound is broken
I reverted back to windows 10 to see if this was a windows 11 issue and it seems like it is.
When playing as killer, the sounds of things you are not looking at are very quiet. This also extends to survivors being very quiet being carried, opening locker sounds being quiet, and generators being quiet when you are not looking at them. Like they are muffled.
I checked the windows settings and it didn't seem like anything was wrong and i also checked to see if the "headphones" option was making a difference, and it was not.
I tested this with the trapper and the trickster.

So when you reverted back to Win 10 - the sounds were normal again or was there still some issues?

Thank you, i will bring this up with the team tomorrow. Obviously with this operating system being so new and having so much stuff implemented on it for games, we're monitoring for issues closely.

I Gotta say that the problem is still there, the same happening to me. This morning I was playing Dead by Daylight on Windows 10 and then updated to Windows 11 in the evening. And I approve of every word mentioned in this post: sounds are quiet, gens and carried survivors are muffled. I hope the problem is fixed soon because I really don't want to revert to Windows 10 just because of this.

The problem is sadly still there

Any solution for this since it's been reported? Recently upgraded to 11 and am having the same issue.

I play on win11 and don't think I have the issue.
Sound settings are: Bass boost enabled and headphone virtualization enabled and spatial sound is set to windows sonic. It could maybe be your audio driver?

Looks like activating windows sonic fixed the issue.
Thanks for the response and the tips!

I have had Windows 11 for a long time and have never had any problems.

This is not a bug on our end, it does seem to be individual user settings.
If you require support on this, I do suggest posting in the tech sub forum.
