So about these snowmen
Why are survivors allowed to hide inside them? Why are we giving killers YET ANOTHER THING to have to do?

They're fun.

It's official
People playing this game hate fun.
Next time a survivor jumps in a snowman, dance with them. Maybe the whole gang will join and you can have a conga line.
It's 2 weeks where you don't have to take the game seriously. Enjoy it

SOmeone said in the other thread - do what you want - even if it is good and funny, people complain...
5 -
Its for fun. It's an event not a tournament. They give you cosmetics and and charms
23 -
Why didn't Killers get an Evil Snowman to use too? No fun.
11 -
Eh.
I like the sentiment and idea but I do not like the execution.
Unfortunately, I'd like to avoid a Halloween 2020 disaster, so I'll support it.
4 -
The snowmen don't even give survivors a great advantage, so I don't see a problem.
9 -
I want to chase survivors in an evil snowman duh.
4 -
I really wish Killers could hop in a snowman too. Be hilarious watching survivors not know if it's teammate or killer slowly coming over to gen in a Snowman. 😂
12 -
Exactly. You get it!
1 -
I'd love to see the slowest chase ever, that reminds me of something I used to do to meme around: I used to plug my controller and slow walk as Killer and slowly chase survivors like that, one day a guy played along and we pulled a super slow chase for a good 2 minutes, was a lot of fun!
25 -
I also want to watch the animations of Trapper and Oni hopping into the snowmen. 😂
3 -
I like doing this as Blight because his walk is really goofy :)
5 -
Or maybe we define fun differently.
I don't find it fun to have another objective that doubles as a get out of jail free card for the survivors.
3 -
You literally can't do anything when in the snowman. If you think it's another objective you've lost it.
1 -
Here you go.
7 -
And this would have been no different if they went to a loop instead of hopping into a snowman.
8 -
My policy right now is 'if you make it to the exit gates in the thing, I'll let you get away'.
I don't think I've seen anyone even attempting this, sadly. Mostly I'm just seeing survivors jump into it to break chase, and a pretty irritating moment when a squad was using them to bodyblock hooks.
It...sort of is. Now you have to factor these in when you are chasing someone, as they allow survivors to essentially get a pseudo-endurance if they run to one as they give the killer a 'missed attack' cooldown and, unless I'm mistaken, it also causes the killer to immediately lose bloodlust.
2 -
Ah yes, that is definitely the snowman's fault... Not the huntress for missing every hatchet, or the fact you had enough time to go to a pallet because of her missing, OR even how she could've used a hatchet to break the snowman and then m1 you. Poor killers make no mistakes and would 4k every game if it weren't for these disgusting survivor-sided snowmen!
7 -
Then how explain how this is fair.

Well duh, it's just good fun.
*wiggles head*
1 -
I've mostly just had miserable games where survivors do everything they can to deny any hooks.
1 -
It's only fun for the survivors. Like they needed yet another benefit.
4 -
I think the problem with a lot of events is that the survivor players get something fun to do and the killer players either get a chore or nothing. Running around in a snowman sounds super fun. Chasing someone in a snowman sounds like there's an extra step you have to do and it's annoying.
4 -
Getting carried by snowmans lol

At this point I'm 1000000% convinced that the dbd developers have a bet on how OP they can make survivors...
0 -
For some imature players I'm surprised you hate these things for children.
0 -
Basically this.
0 -
Fun for the survivor that's it. Killers didn't get anything event related for this one beside cosmetics. Did you even get any winter related oferring/add on a Killer? You don't. As always you're the toys for the Survivor. Oh you don't like that? Oh my God just chill for two weeks being the toy and deal with it 5head.

I know right? It's like everyone's answer to this is "Don't play the game" like somehow that's acceptable.
1 -
they're fun, cry about it or stop taking this game so seriously
5 -
Funny thing is they're enjoying the moment now since it's like what the first day? But once everyone got their cosmetics in a few days and settled down since the grind isn't even that long - it's back to regular DBD except survivors now have a free health state they can take advantage of then they'll realize they still have two whole weeks to deal with this. I doubt people would still hold the "Just have fun" mentality by then unless you're a Survivor you know the only side who got to have fun this entire event.
1 -
As i said before, this is actually the first survivor-sided event, at least in high MMR.
Survivors can just use them to tank hits / bodyblock. And besides Bubba and Trickster, all other killers can't do anything about it.
1 -
Doctor can shock them
Deathslinger shoots right through it
Clown can throw a bottle at it
Trapper can trap the snowman forcing them out
All killers can hit the snowman in the face to severely reduce the distance the survivor makes. Add stbfl to that and they won't make any pallet they wouldn't have made anyway.
Huntress hatchets into m1 especially after hitting snowman in the face also ensures they barely make any distance
You need to be a good distance away cause you can get hit during the jump animation
They can be annoying but they are far from insurmountable
Ghostface is one of the only killers that gets really screwed by the snowman.
Twins get screwed in general
3 -
So 1/4 of the killer roster has some "counterplay"
The rest can just suck eggs?

So i only need a perk to play how i would normally any other time?
0 -
It works well without the perk too. The perk just enhances it further.
I have very little issues with snowman
And i mostly play Legion, one of the killers that should be more affected then others with the deep wound being removed by jumping in one.

The snowmen are fun as survivors. Playing as killer, survivors who play to win use them to gain that extra distance. Got injured in a chase? find the nearest snowman to take a free hit then gain more distance. Plus you still have your DH and can get to the next safe pallet. These just give competitive survivors another advantage.
They'd be better as just a costume without the MOM feature. Move at normal speed & perform actions. Still have all the fun without the change in gameplay.

But what if you actually want to play the game? They literally completely screw Ghostface and Hillbilly, they're only fun for survivors.
They're a free health state with no risk unless the killer hits you when you're going in. They're absolutely ridiculous.

Crazy, the killers actually WANT something? Well they're just being a bunch of cry babies (smh)

Wanna know what the Snowmen can do to avoid Trapper?
Move.

I just had a that small chance moment where i parked snowman under hook, took hit, another with my body and bought enough time for a teammate to wiggle out of grasp

Survivors decide to troll in snowmen instead of do gens and people want to cry about it but if the snowmen weren't there they would be complaining about something else the ones who complain are always gonna complain I've come to terms with that and after 5 years it still stands true , you could start one survivor on a hook and they would still find something to ######### about and say the games broken, at what point do people pull their pants up and take responsibility and admit they didn't play well or could've done something different? My guess is it will never happen with this community

You'd think so but i haven't seen a single one do so.
They either stand there stupified or instantly jump out so i can cancel the trap and hit them.
Sometimes you can trick them by putting it in front of them and make them jump into it when they jump out.
I have had little to no issues with snowman. And i really wonder if people who complain about them have too. Most likely they've seen that youtube clip of the bad huntress and screamed bloody murder without actually encountering it themself.
IMO the only killers that really get screwed over is ghostface and twins. If those are your mains you are 100% valid to complain.
Twin mains are 100% valid to complain no matter what tbh

We're playing against entirely different players then since the ones I deal with just move.
And it's not just that, the snowmen can screw over a majority of the killer roster with no effort, they are actually broken.
It doesn't even make since, Behavior implied a killer catching you in one would have consequences but in reality it's a free health state. They just need to be changed so being hit in one results in you taking damage.

I made this comment before I realized how bad free hit issue with the snowmen were. Now I know that's not the case.
