just realized that they nerfed the pig again last patch
it used to be that since dead hard isnt supposed to give you collision right, because its supposed to make invincible and whatevr...
so in code it meant that powers like the ambush have nothing to hit until the untargetable period is gone, so if the survivor dead hards too early you could still occasionally hit them at the very end of your ambush. which is still mostly the case for the majority of the killer powers that do damage.
now what happens is that when the pig ambushes someone who is dead harding, the deadhard animation is apparently targetable by the ambush dash. meaning the dash will count as a hit every time and the pig will have to go through the hit cooldown.
this is now the same way that victor lands on the survivors feet instead of yeeting through them which lets the survivor get a free kick in. LMAO
thanks deadhard validation.

Oh but don't afk there, people gonna report you and ban you! scary!

So by your own admission this isn't a Pig nerf but a Dead Hard buff as it also affects other killers, such as Twins and Nemesis.

Don't forget Demogorgon

Dead Hard affecting killer powers was brought up in the last Q&A so it is something that the team is aware of, they explained that due to it affecting powers and each killers power is individual it takes time to go through this, as it means each power has to be done separately.
4 -
DH validation has cucked many a power since it's inception.
3 -
An easy fix would be too just uhhh..... Turn off validation for it. Causes more problems than it solves.
2 -
*Causes more problems for killers
The thing is, without validation people would end up exhausted all the time, killers never complained about that (obviously).

Here's a gif visualizing of what viking is doing to gbk

Uh, no. But I think that there are potential work-arounds. A 30 percent reduction for the animation cool-down (on top of having the standard cool-down) It basically give a unrelenting cooldown to allow you to quickly follow up. I think that'd be pretty fair, but dead hard as a whole is fair, taking away hit validation is not the answer, we want to improve the game not make it worse. Even the current situation is preferable to what it was before.

Pig's ambush has been screwed by Dead Hard since dedicated servers, it isn't just validation.
0 -
Objectively this is the case. Killers are blaming the wrong thing when it comes to DH validation. They blame the perk doing what its supposed to do instead of the real issue. That issue being false feedback.
Same as it were with pallet validation. At least with that you had to go through a stun recovery, breaking the chase and giving time to realize what occured. Dead hard validation does not break chase and causes confusion.
False feedback is the real issue with server validation. Without it, DH would just look like DH. Killer wouldn't be able tell if they were validated or not. The Devs are already taking some steps to solve the issue by delaying some feedback to validate server response. But the false feedback still does occur with a high enough ping to the server.

If this is what counts as a "pig nerf", then suddenly all those really confusing jokes about continually nerfing Pig when that wasn't happening make a little bit more sense.
1 -
I honestly thought it was because of the afk pig meme play that was becoming popular since I seen a lot of people complaining about it

I bet if it was a Killer ability that worked through dead hard it would be hotfixed in a day.
1 -
Dead Hard didn't work for the longest time, since dedicated servers basically - so your insinuation there that this is a Survivor vs Killer issue is misguided.
1 -
So no one would have used it, now 80% of survs use it,(going by some of the stats shown on her by users) So how many Killers are on the raw end of it?
3 -
and how many survivors were on the "raw end of it" when it wasn't working previously? I repeat again, this is not a survivor vs killer issue. The perk didn't work for well over a year - probably closer to two, constantly survivors were hit through Dead Hard and were exhausted on the ground, that was just as frustrating for survivors as this is for killers right now. Hence it's something that will be addressed.
3 -
While I spit out abuse every time Ambush Dash is braked against my will, I am eagerly awaiting the day when vs. Dead Hard is fixed.
0 -
If it was busted it wouldn't have been used. Or if it was it wouldn't have been used in the volume it is now. If it's so frustrating why not disable it then?
0 -
the Killswitch is there for things that are game breaking - this is not game breaking, frustrating for sure - I'm not saying it's not. But it definitely doesn't break the game.
0 -
Not if you're one of those 4/5 Killer who get turned into m1 Killers for a period of time.
But i understand 20% of the Killer base is no where near the 80% of survivors who use d.h to do something "radical" like Killswitch.
Guess it's time for Civilization?

Wait so if my tentacle whip is eaten by dead hard I'm literally stuck in place and can't play the game until it crashes eventually? Because that's what it means by gamebreaking- literally preventing people from ever playing any part of the game. Hence why Boil Over on RPD wasn't killswitched, despite how absolutely obnoxious it was, because it didn't prevent people from playing as slugging existed.
This isn't me thinking that it's correct to only use the killswitch in these circumstances, but in the context of the devs' pre-existing rules it isn't classed as "gamebreaking".
1 -
Well, an uncleansable totem is considered gamebreaking, so you might need to revise your definition to be closer to Behaviors if you want to find common ground.
3 -
So a few Killers being denied the use of their power is fine? Is that not breaking to you?
If deadhard was a dumpster fire when it was introduced would have people used it? No so it would'nt have mattered if it took 2 years to fix, 99% of survivors wouldnt have used it anyway.
if 4/5 Killers are impacted by this, that's 19% no where near the 80% of Survs who use it. That's why it isn't breaking.
2 -
Was it disabled for the totem issue or also for the issue with the wagon survivors could climb on and most players didn't know how to deal with it? I genuinely can't remember, always thought that was why.
1 -
Does it crash the game and forever prevent further use of their power?
0 -
Nah, they did not care too much about the wagon exploit because you could get up there as killer too. I believe they stated it would have been kill switched if only survivors could make it up there.
0 -
Apparently dead hard in infancy didn't according to Mandy.
"survivors were hit through Dead Hard and were exhausted on the ground,"
And if all survs run dead hard then yes it does prevent use of their power for a period of time.
1 -
Or, get this, you could just use your power again a few seconds later, and down the already injured survivor.
1 -
No, it's not. Gamebreaking means it fundamentally ruins the flow of a game in a major or permanent way.
0 -
Not in it's infancy - I said when Dedicated Servers were implemented. In it's infancy Dead Hard worked correctly when the game was still P2P - survivors could dodge the hit and get the speed boost if they timed it correctly. When dedicated servers were introduced the perk was very much reliant on the killers connection, which was hardly ideal. Hence the perk now works off of the server - so it works on who does the action first that's recognised by the server...it has also recently been updated so that the visual feedback (which was the main complaint) for killers should be much less of an issue.

Killers have complained for YEARS that totems are "broken within 30 seconds" of the match starting, yet ruin managed to creep its way up to being used 80% of the time AT RED RANKS. So let's not use the 'if it doesn't work all the time, people wouldn't use it' because it's just false.
1 -
Broken you mean cleansed? which is a functioning in game mechanic and not a bug.
Yeah pretty big stretch there.
0 -
How does this make a difference? Both sides complain something doesn't work a lot and still kept using it, trying to dismiss my argument because it makes sense is embarrassing. Just admit that something doesn't have to work the majority of the time to still be useful / fun when it does work.
0 -
Dead Hard needs a complete nerf and massive look at. This perk can literally destroy the game for more then half the killers in the roster. The distance it provides is abused for reaching safe loops when the survivor would have WENT DOWN!
0 -
So much work instead of reworking that terrible designed perk
1 -
Rather than go through that much work, have you considered just going after Dead Hard instead of trying to microfix each power it affects?
1 -
We all know Dead Hard will never be nerfed no matter what they tease in QnA sessions... after all, 80% of all survivors are using it every match. If it's made fair (i.e. completely changed), how many of them will never buy a Feng skin again?! You understand why the idea has BHVR trembling in fear.
