Do in-game reports even get looked at?
As the title suggests. No fluffy answers.

Allegedly yes
As long as you do an in game report, gather the footage, fill out the form completely with no mistakes, sign and date here here and here and promise to name your first born Trapper

As Peanits said, yes in-game reports do get looked at. However, in many cases further information is required as explained on this post in our Knowledge Base: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

you also need to leave reports that matter. Cheating and lag switching are things that are reportable. If someone is making threats to dox that is reportable. Tunneling, camping, DC, are not reportable and will not be looked at.

Hey switch user here, the report system seems far more narrow on switch, I can't write anything, can't put screenshots or clips, not that dbd let's me do clips anymore.
So can they even be taken seriously when I can't attach any proof?

It’s a flawed system, but it does exist.

Edit: Never mind, answered above.

You need to make additionally to the in-game report an additional player report ticket directly on this site for the support team (and there include player info, evidence etc):

You have to have footage attached to the report of the offender showing the offense, along with a notarized statement from each teammate saying that yes they were in fact a problem. Then you need to pack your bags, go to Canada and present bhvr with fancy chocolates and prostrate yourself before their headquarters.
Then and only then, will they maybe look at your report. Maybe. If they feel like it.

But I've already promissed to name my first born Hag...

That might be accepted but I can't promise you that for sure

Can I sign myself away to Trapper instead 😩

Interesting. So, any time I've run into a person exploiting, say an area where I can't pick them up (like that basement bug a while ago), I've always recorded + reported in game and through customer service - which from my understanding you need this video evidence anyway to handle these reports and (temporarily) ban accordingly. But the way that this document is worded, it implies that is optional to provide evidence.
Is there a reason why that wouldn't require video evidence to handle exploiting bugs/errors in design/undocumented features/etc, as compared to a hacker who is hacking?
Also suprised lag switching and botting fall under the evidence optional section too.
I could be misunderstanding and misreading this completely, too, just thought I'd clarify :)

Yeah it's a typo. They require video evidence, most things require video evidence.

You can try but Trapper likes the chase more than the catch so I don't know if he'll accept you just giving up to him...

for some things we do not require video evidence for, as advised in the report form, due to the different way reports are handled.

No it isn't a typo, it's completely correct.

But no action gets taken for these reports without it? or is the goal specifically to throw people off? or is the support team actually penalizing people without adequate proof?
or just "yeah you got the option to provide evidence. The report is thrown out without it, but we're not going to tell you that".

On a related note, does the post-game "Did you have fun?" rating do anything or get looked at? Or is it just a placebic mechanism to help frustrated players vent a little?

these do get checked yes

So if a survivor gets many reports of toxicity or hacking ect do you ban them or even with too many different player reports you still need video evidence ? How many reports are enough to ban them?

Do you ever have any way of knowing if your report helped? Or does it just go off into the report abyss and may be handled..?
