I Finally Get Trickster!

I never thought I would be able to accomplish it as a console player. I thought there was no way I could ever control his knives crazy vertical spread, especially in chase and when moving around short loops. But I finally can say I can play a pretty decent trickster now! But more importantly, I'm having so much fun learning his ins n outs, shredding people who try to make plays in front of me, and catching people off gaurd at vaults they think are safe!

And with that, I am now able to play and enjoy every killer on the roster!

Have any of you ever had a killer you just thought was impossible, but one day everything clicked and all of a sudden they became a favorite? Anyone else still having trouble playing Trickster on a console controller (or am I the last one lol?)

I don't know if it's because I'm way out of practice with him or his mechanics were changed yet again, but I absolutely blow with Trickster now.

But to stay on topic, Oni was definitely the first killer to 'click' with me after a very rough start. Once I figured out how to maneuver and navigate with him during his Demon Dash, it didn't matter what map I was on unless it was Haddonfield.

Huntress on console is still a challenge for me, think because of a lack of cross hair or projectile line indicator, whereas on the contrast, Artist is my best performing and favourite killer currently, can snipe crossmap when stars align and regularly hit dire crows after swarm takes effect, it's a weird scenario haha. Pretty sure huntress has a bigger hitbox on the hatchets.

congrats on getting good at Trickster on controller! I dropped him the moment I got the achievements done. Had kinda fun on the PTB but after that I really had just 2-3 matches where I really thought the power was to my benefit…

otherwise, I always though i could never manage to get anything done with Nurse. But after some rough matches I kinda got good on her and -even more important- had actually fun using her! Nowadays avoid playing her even for daily’s since it takes too long to get into her gameplay again..

I’m still too afraid to learn Trickster on console, but I’m warming up to the idea.

For me it’s Pyramid Head. I’m a fan of his and bought that special DbD Silent Hill version too but I really couldn’t figure out his power. I spent way too much time trying to figure out how to get people tormented and struggled landing my shots and just got too frustrated to play him. After a year break and realizing I had like 100+ anniversary (year 4) cakes on him. I started playing him exclusively for the grind.

Turns out he wasn’t as bad as I remembered. Now I’m tormenting people at loops, hitting my shots, predicting more successfully. Guess something just finally clicked for me too.

Thank you Mandy! I always enjoy this game, even when I have a rough time with it. I can't say there's any game I've ever spent this much time with, and even though I don't always favor every balance decision, DBD is still an amazing game., All things considered.

Glad you're getting there with huntress, she's a favorite of mine! I wish you luck

It's really just been a muscle memory thing, and one tip I've learned to practice is trigger discipline. You must fight against the urge to machine gun away at every opportunity, it's best to go for one or two hits where you know you will hit and can at worst, lose little distance.

I like using early game perks like Corrupt and Letshl pursuer on him to get a good start, his hook defense is an area where he shines and survivors know this, so the mindgame becomes when and if you're prepared to return to the hook and go for double downs/slugs. You must also get good at calling good survivors bluffs, and know where you just won't get knives efficiently.

I love playing huntress, but it took a really long time for me to get used to her.

Honestly it will just be muscle memory that will help the most with her, eventually you will almost intuitively know where you will get a hit at, and can predict shots from great distances or in between spaces you would think would be impossible.

    Good luck with your practice!

I agree with nurse tbh, it feels like if you take a few days off, you might just lose your focus... But tbh since her bug fix, I've been having great games with her again when I do play her. Have you tried her since her recent fixes?

I respect that, as I'm still very shaky with PH myself. I can get good hits more often than not, but I feel so clumsy when I play him. Honestly he's one of my least played at the moment 😅 But I respect people who consistently do well with him

Nope actually haven’t tried her for a while, as I lack the motivation for her. There are many killers I just find more interesting at the moment. Though I am glad I know I could get into her again if I wanted to and I really had fun with her
