Hatch Spawn Determined by Bleed-Out Timer? (Possible Proof)
Peep the final frame of the match in the video below.
I died from bleed-out at the exact moment Mikaela died on hook and the hatch spawned as close to me as it possibly could (it can’t spawn in the shower).
This suggests to me that, as part of the new hatch mechanic, the devs have incorporated some sort of algorithm to ensure that slugs always have a chance of escape if they’re lucky… that if a player’s timer is running out, the hatch will always spawn somewhere a slug is able to reach, if they get lucky and crawl in the right direction.
Have the devs mentioned anything about this? Has anyone ever tested it? Does anyone else had any similar experiences?

I mean, you have the sample size of 1 game.
The Devs have never mentioned something like this. And I have not experienced it myself as Survivor.

You'd have to be able to recreate that a bunch of times to even consider that this might possibly be something other than completely blind luck
Like I got stabbed ONTO the Hatch once
(I don't know why the clip now has all of a sudden started cutting off their instead of a second later when I flop into the Hatch but you can see it well enough that it works)

Where the hatch spawn is one of a number of locations and that's chosen at the start of the match, it doesn't change throughout the match either I'm afraid.

speaking of hatches, They did change the hatch still having collision while it's invisible right?

Yes they did change that

First time I’ve ever experienced a synchronised death like that since the hatch update.
I’d be interested to replicate it and see if it repeats. It’s obviously a bit hard to tee that up in a public game, but I wonder if it would be the same in private.
I guess the only thing is whether or not the devs need to tell the players about such a change if it was made?
To me, it’d be a pretty balanced buff for slugs, since the ability to see the closed hatch has been removed.

I’d definitely be down to recreate it to experiment. Could be a game-changer for comp play.
Nice clip. We’ve all had lucky hatch moments in game, but I’ve never had one spawn in a way that it’s literally the only position on the map I could possibly reach.
