Who though that streamer mode is a good idea
It's not like rampant cheating was an issue right? Surely making it impossible to report players who use streamer mode is a good idea?

it's easier to report, you no longer have to input their steam account link anymore, just report them in game

If you faced a cheater you'd know that you can't report them if they use streamer mode
8 -
you can still report players in game who use streamer mode though?

What's the story with this? What's with the streamer mode? First news.
What would prevent you to report?

The procedure to report someone with streamer mode is the same as someone without it.
The only thing that changed is that now the ticket you open doesn't require you to add SteamID64 or profile link, as the in-game report flags the match and Support can get the player's information from that.

It also makes stream sniping easier because the streamer won't know who it is. Not only that but I don't see how the "Targeting specific users repeatedly in order to ruin their game experience" rule could be enforced if someone uses anonymous mode because how do you know for sure it's them over and over again?

Stream sniping in a vacuum is allowed. It only becomes reportable if it's done repeatedly, then it violates the "targeting specific users" rule.
But I also don't know how you are supposed to report for that now. Most likely you are expected to hide your own name so you can't be targeted anymore.

Andddd how exactly do I report someone whose name is Dwight Fairfield 02 who play on EGS and who I can only block??? Do you guys even play the game?
3 -
As said, the name, id or profile are not required, just flag them in game as usual, clicking on the thumbs down button in the tally screen and open a ticket on the Support website (https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/categories/6713776396180-Dead-by-Daylight).

Are you saying you had no other options with the thumbs up prompt, it did not let you flag the player?
0 -
Well console players cant even grab player IDs and we dont even get streamer mode either...
I can run into multiple cheaters and not do a thing about it
0 -
that is in fact what happened. i only had the block prompt

Can confirm that this is not always the case, I read a few days ago the same issue and checked in my matches, i was always able to report even if the players had generic names/anonymous mode

I've met several cheaters already since this patch was released, and I just have to shrug my shoulders and go to the next game because the only option is to block the player.
Might be time for an actual anti-cheat system? BHVR have surely made enough money off all those feng min skins by now, you'd think.

Its not possible to flag the person in game. You can only block them. But not report them.

The problem is, there is not "Report" button when you click their name. I am seeing only one option and it is "Block". Nothing else. How i supposed to report them?

it's litteraly this button

And i know that? Thanks for nothing.

I think what @MikaelaWantsYourBoon is saying, is that this button is not constantly showing up from them...please correct me if I'm wrong MikaelaWantsYourBoon?

You are correct. Whenever i click that, i am only getting one option and it is "Block" button. Nothing else. Probably it bugged with different platforms.

That should be an ingame feature, I shouldn't have to go to external sites between games and start filling out forms.
While I know you're just passing the information along it's just not a good system, I'd rather just play another game then waste my time going extra steps to report obvious cheaters.

We do have streamer mode. Go into your options - general. I play on xbox and have all the options available to me.
It's all under privacy -- you can hide your name, others names etc etc.
2 -
It's under Privacy settings on console. There's 4 options you can change there.

Turn on Match Making Delay under Privacy Settings to stop stream sniping. Simple. Or at least that's what it's supposed to do. Not sure if it really works though. 😐

This streamer mode should be standard at the beginning of the game, just like we don't know the killer's name before the game ends, I also think that killers shouldn't be able to see the items we're carrying, the same way I can't know if I'm facing a Myers from Tombstone until I get killed by him

It's 2022. Going to an external site to make a complaint is so 1996.

I stopped reporting people when I found out that I need video proof of everything. It's such a convoluted reporting system. It makes me feel embarrassed that I play this game, honestly. Especially considering this is the only game I play where I would even have a need to report people.

Maybe streamers just a wild guess

That is the problem I have with the reporting system. But I did hear that they now can gather data from the games with the new anti-cheat update, not sure if that works on console though? We shouldn't have to have video evidence of cheating when the data can tell when a user is consistently out of bounds (ie. in the sky or below the ground, moving through barriers), triggering perks that they aren't equipped with, spawning items that they didn't load into the match with, being put into a hooked state outside of the hook parameters or being hooked more than 2 times, all generators being completed before 10 seconds after the match started, and so on. My hope is that they will turn to data rather than video evidence we provide.
I used to volunteer on an old game back in the early 2000s as an admin/dev, and we coded similar things. If a player entered said parameter outside of the zone, they would instantly move back to the zone. As we collected data, if we saw this happening repeatedly or if they weren't being moved, we investigated. We'd confirm that it wasn't a bug before booting the player indefinitely from the game. Same with spawning items that they didn't have access too.
I don't know why developers don't do this anymore but I know programming logic has changed over the course of the years. But data should still be the number one source in identifying and rooting out cheaters. Today I literally work in a system at an insurance company that if something isn't filled out in our system properly, it generally errs and gets sent to a report that we review and have to go in and correct. The system identifies something isn't working as intended, and sends a report itself. Not the users. Although we have had some new issues arise where reporting the issue needs to happen, but those aren't programmed yet to self report because, well.. they're new issues.
It's something I hope the devs consider because someone could experience a bug, i.e. falling through the ground, and someone else report it as a cheat and show video of it and the user gets banned despite it's a coding and development issue. Data needs to drive the reporting system, not videos.

I sometimes play Smite and in the after game lobby the system will flag people. Saying that there is reason to believe that the flagged player(s) may have taken actions which are reportable. Then you click the exclamation mark next to their gamertag and a report widow pops up. I wish DBD made it that easy.
Then if they take action you'll get a message within a few days stating that an action has been taken against a player that you reported. It's an anonymous message and doesn't give any further details, such as gt or the resulting punishment. I really appreciate how convenient it is.
